Current Beauty Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

So normally, I would do this monthly but as I had a little break I thought it would be worth rounding up my current favourites over the last few months and then I can get back into monthly favourites. So much has gone on in the past few months and how in the world are we now in October!? The months are going quicker and quicker  – the countdown to Christmas is well and truly on for me!

Estee Lauder – Bronze Goddess Powder in 03 Medium Deep see here

I brought this for myself over the summer, I had wanted this for a long time and I thought why the hell not treat myself! It’s pretty pricey but it’s such a lovely bronzer. It has such a big pan so you can swish your brush around like no mans business. It’s near enough matte which I much prefer, there are a few specs of glitters that catch my eye but nothing major I promise. I’m still using it even in the colder months I just love it. It’s the perfect colour for me – this I think is the nicest bronzer I have ever used and in my opinion well worth the investment!

Clinique – Take The Day Off Balm see here

I have had this collection for a little while and I wanted to spruce my cleansing routine up so I decided a balm was the way to go. This stuff is magical, it really does take everything off my face and I never feel like I have to double cleanse which is a winner in my book! What gives this cleanser a gold star is that it’s a miracle worker at getting the most toughest mascara off my lashes. There is nothing that this stuff can’t handle! I didn’t think I would love a balm as much as I do this once but I’m coming to the end of this and thinking I really need to pick another one of these up.. I’m converted!

Benefit – Precisely My Brow Pencil in Shade 4 see here

So if you have read my last post here or have read my blog for a while then you know I adore this product. For a long time I used this mainly for filling in the front of my brows only which worked wonders. However I wasn’t happy with the look of the rest of my brows so I decided to to use this baby all over and my oh my it’s a game changer. My eyebrows look so much better and I take a lot less time in the mornings getting ready. I just find it so easy to use and the pigmentation is amazing. Light hands is the way forward but really I struggle to go wrong with this pencil! Plus I do love this snazzy packaging people may think it’s a little OTT but for me it’s a winner.

MAC – Prep & Prime Fix+ see here

I don’t know how this has only come into my life this year. I picked this up at IMATS  and even then I was sceptical as to whether I would use it. I don’t really use setting sprays but I thought because so many people love this that I would give it a go. I just can’t stop using it. I spritz this every time I apply make up. It makes my face look a little less flat and matte but not so much that I look like an oily mess. I really feel like my make up lasts so much longer because of this. I am now sold with this and I am sure this will now be a staple item in my make up collection!

Rimmel – Lasting Finish Foundation in 200 Soft Beige see here

This is my new favourite drug store foundation. I had this in my collection for a while and rarely used it – not sure why. I then gave it a good go and used it for a couple of days and I just fell in love. Annoyingly when I fell in love with it, it was then empty and I had no idea so I had to rush out and buy another. I actually mentioned this little baby in my recent Empties Post. I just find that this is so easy to apply and I never have any issues with applications or the longevity of this. This is a little different for me as I am very much a matte foundation girl and this is more on the dewy finish. I have made it work for me though and I just powder, I just love the finish it gives. Seriously if you haven’t tried this foundation out you need to give it a go!

Too Faced – Melted Matte Lipstick in Queen B see here

I’m not really a pink lipped sort of girl and when I brought this last year I was like come on Alice lets be brave and try something new. It’s a beautiful pink/mauve shade and is something so different to anything I own. I have gone through phases or wearing this and at the moment I am obsessed and have been for a good solid couple of months now this is pretty much all I wear. It’s so comfortable on the lips and lasts a fairly long time, I keep meaning to pick up more colours of this as I really enjoy the formula. I also am in love with the name. Obviously I feel like a queen b whilst wearing this!

Huda Beauty – Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette see here

I really am obsessed with the palette. No doubt about it. It’s pretty much the only eye shadow I have been wearing for about 3 months now and it still looks like I haven’t really made a dent in the colours. Hands down this is well worth the investment because the pigmentation and the formula of these are incredible. I constantly wear these shades and although they look pretty crazy colours they are actually so wearable. I need to give my other palettes a bit of a chance but I can’t seem to put this one down. I have written a full review of this here if you would like a little bit more info.

Chanel – Natural Finished Pressed Powder in Translucent see here

So I’m not normally one to use expensive powders as personally I don’t think there is any need to. However I was gifted this a little while ago by my boyfriend and to be honest I was too scared to use it. Recently I was like, come on it needs to be used no matter what the price tag was. I’m sure I’m not the only one that uses more expensive make up for special occasions! I’m so glad I got using this because my oh my it’s pretty special. It’s so light on the face and never feels cakey. It sets my make up in place and I can’t tell you how good my skin looks. Effortlessly as well. I honestly think when I use this up I may have to repurchase another one. Sorry Rimmel I think I have found a new powder!

Let me know what your favourite products are at the moment and whether you have tried any of the products I have mentioned!

Empties #17

Hello my lovelies,

Another empties post, although I haven’t done one of these for a while I know another one will be coming very soon. I can go a week or so without using anything up and then all of a sudden I finish everything at once. As I have quite a few products in my basket I thought I’d ensure there is a mix of products in each post just so there is something for everyone.

Benefit – Precisely my Brow Pencil in Shade 4 see here

So if you have read my blog for a while you will know that I LOVE this brow pencil, I am obsessed. I mentioned it in my Top 3 Eyebrow Products and it is still there grabbing the top spot. Up until recently though I used this mainly to finish off my brows and ensure that the shape was right, now I use it for my whole brow with the use of no other products and I have fallen in love with it even more – I didn’t know this was even possible. It creates such a natural brow and I love the finish. I did mention in my recent Sephora Haul that I will be comparing the ABH Brow Whiz as I now have both so watch out for that!

Obviously I have already purchased this and to be honest I have gone through so many I don’t see myself stopping buying anything else anytime soon. Benefit’s brow range really is great, if you are unsure on what to go for, head to your local Benefit and they are more than happy to test the products out on you and find the right one for you.

Too Faced – Better than Sex Mascara see here

So, a lot of people love this and I mean really praise that it is an amazing mascara. It took me a long time to finally accept that I needed to try it out and I was lucky enough to receive two at once for my birthday last year. Now, don’t get me wrong it’s a good mascara but was I wowed by it? No. It gives volume and my lashes look nice but I find this very flaky and it is rather annoying. I think there are better mascaras out there that are around the same price point or actually lower. If you still want to try it, I would suggest buying a mini version to make sure you like it.

I still have another one of these to get through but it’s just not something I reach for very often. I just have better mascaras in my collection which I much prefer. I’m sorry to all you fans out there of this mascara but it just isn’t my favourite. I don’t think after I have got through my next tube I will be repurchasing.

Gariner – Fresh Radiance Boosting Scrub see here

At first, I didn’t think was my cup of tea. I like a scrub that is fairly thick, I just feel like it works with my skin better and also my skin can take it. However, I persevered because the scent is amazing. It is this beautiful orange citrus scent that really does make me want to use this. I’m so glad I carried on because I really enjoyed this and I think my skin did too. Although the scrub in finer it still works wonders on the skin and I feel like my skin looks a whole load brighter after using this.

By the end I was gutted that it was all gone as I would happily continue using it. I have a lot of exfoliators/scrubs in my collection so I will use some of those up first but I will keep an eye out for it when I’m shopping for a new exfoliator.

Rimmel – Lasting Finish Foundation in 200 Soft Beige see here

I think, currently this is one of my favourite drug store foundations. I was so annoyed as I went to use this and realised it has pretty much run out. I very quickly repurchased this as I just find if my skin is not playing ball I can pop this foundation on and I feel a lot more presentable to the world. This is different to a lot of my foundations with it not being matte. I am more oily than anything else but I don’t have any problems with this at all. The longevity of this is incredible and although I have tested the whole 25 hour claim I would say a solid 14 hours and it’s still battling on.

It has been a massive saviour in the summer with SPF 20 in it, it’s just one less layer of cream on my face and it has saved me I’m sure when it comes to not burning my face. I don’t see this foundation being talked about an awful lot in the blogging community but for me I flipping love it. Whether you have dry, normal or combination skin I think you can happily makes this work.

Lush – Snow Fairy Shower Gel see here

You may be thinking, hun this has only just been released again. Yes I know, but I stock up around Christmas time so I can use this all year round. I love it too much to just appreciate it for only a couple months of the year. It is a little pricey for a shower gel but it is so worth it. If you are into your sweeter scents then this right up your street. If you have never tired it though, seriously where have you been!? I won’t delve into my love for this too much because I could write pages and pages, yes I am addicted.

I believe I still have another bottle in my stocks to use but I am sure I will be stocking up now I know it has been released again and of course it will be going on my Christmas list so if you want to get me something this right here makes my life complete!

Herbal Essences – Hello Hydration Conditioner see here

I am a big lover of Herbal Essences. I have tired a lot of their different ranges and there aren’t many I don’t like. This I would say is my favourite as dry ends is something I really struggle with. It helps that it’s cheap and cheerful but it really is good for the price point. I notice the difference when I change to a different brand, my hair just doesn’t seem the same. I recently had a hair cut – I hadn’t had once for over a year, I know it’s bad. But with the hair cut and using this my hair is in great condition!

I have a few conditioners to use in my collection before I go out and buy something new but I always go back to this especially when it’s on offer which it quite often is, I just can’t refuse.

MAC – Velvet Teddy Lipstick see here

Sorry, how in the world did did these lipsticks creep up to £17.50!? If you are going to buy a lipstick MAC is the place to go however, wow they are getting expensive. This is a proud moment for me because this is the first lipstick I have EVER finished. I knew it was going to be this because the shade is just great. This is the shade that set off my love affair with brown toned lips, I barely wear anything other than brown now. This is a great lipstick and if you are still on the fence about it I would totally put it on your wish-list. Especially with a lip liner underneath it’s just a beautiful shade.

This the one product I will be keeping hold of for my back-to-MAC I just need one more product to then be able to pick up a free eye shadow or lipstick. If I am honest I think I will just get this little baby because I really miss it in my collection but I’m not convinced I want to pay £17.50 for it!

Nip + Fab Viper Venom Micro Blur Fix see here

Again if you have read any primer related posts from me you will know that this is currently my favourite primer, and to be honest I don’t see that changing any time soon. If you prefer a more silicone based primer then this is worth giving a go. I find that for my oily skin this works wonders and I am never left disappointed by it. You only need a little bit on your face and I really notice the difference when I don’t wear this. I have actually written a full review on this here so if you want to know more than this may help.

Of course I have already repurchased this and I will continue to for the foreseeable future. TK MAXX is a good place to pick up nip + fab a little cheaper than the drug store. Having said that drug stores always have offers on with nip + fab or 3 for 2 so it’s definitely worth looking into.

Primark – PS Oval Cotton Pads

Of course these are in here, they make an appearance near enough every empties post. These cotton pads really are the only ones I will use and I don’t see this changing anytime soon. Every time I pop into Primark I am always stocking up on these babies I mean for 90p you really can’t go wrong. They are a lot more durable than a lot of other cotton pads on the market. Seriously try them out for yourselves you won’t be disappointed!

Batiste – Dry Shampoo in Cherry see here

Last but by no means least, another regular empties product the holy grail hair product my dry shampoo. I honestly don’t know how I coped before using dry shampoo and in particular Batiste. It’s just incredible and to be honest I don’t need to try another dry shampoo because I know that this does the job. I can’t  just have one of these in my draws I always have to have another one as a back up in case I run out. What’s your favourite scent as I feel I just use the same two!

Congratulations if you made it to the end of the post! I didn’t realise how long this will be, but you all earn yourself a gold star. Let me know if you have tired any of these products and what your thoughts are on them. I’d love to know!

Disappointing Products #2

Hello my lovelies,

So oddly enough I don’t write these posts very often which is actually rather nice. When I buy a product I try my hardest to make it work for me. Most of the time I find a way and sometimes I fall in love with the way I use it, other times I think it’s ok and I will use it until it’s finished. I’m just not a lover of wasting products. However, there are the rare occasions where I just can’t use them and I just think enough is enough I have to accept it’s not to my liking. We can’t love everything in the world and I thought I would share this with you. If you would like to see my last Disappointing Products see here

Topshop – Lipstick in Culture see here

So it’s not very often I find a lipstick I don’t like. I like a varied amount of lipsticks and I always find ways or occasions to make it work. Topshop Beauty is a brand I don’t venture into very often, I just hear such mixed reviews and to be honest I’m not 100% convinced. I gave this lipstick a chance when I found it in TK MAXX. I fell in love with the colour and I wanted to do my best to make it work.

However it just doesn’t work for me. I do prefer a matte lipstick but I don’t mind a more gloss finish if the product is good. Every time I use this I put a lip liner on underneath which I do for near enough all my lipsticks to ensure it lasts for as long a possible but even with a lip liner it just went so quickly. Don’t get me wrong the pigmentation is really impressive and I love the colour but it doesn’t stay on very long. It slips and slides all over the place and I have been embarrassed on a number of occasions with it being all round my face. I just can’t make it work, I’m sure people love this formula and if someone can give me tips of how I can stop this from moving everything it would be appreciated.

Ted Baker – Mascara in Black

I unfortunately can’t find a link for this but I received this in a Ted Baker beauty set at Christmas time. I was really looking forward to trying the products and I had high hopes. Some of the products like the blusher I have completely fallen in love with. However, I tried this mascara and it did nothing to my lashes. I applied countless coats of this and still nothing. I mean I’m not sure who would like this because it’s pretty pointless. The brush just doesn’t seem to pick up the product, I just can’t use it. I’m gutted because it looks so pretty and I love Ted Baker as a brand but looks really can be deceiving..

Rimmel London – Sculpting Palette see here

Now, this may come as a shock to some because I know a lot of people really enjoy using this product but I just think it’s pants. It’s a something of nothing product for me that doesn’t seem to give off barely any pigmentation. I don’t know whether I have a dud one but I have given up with this. It looks lovely and I had such high hopes for this and it has completely disappointed me. I have actually written a full review of this post here. Is there anyone else out there that has the same opinion as me surely I can’t be the only one?

Revolution – Liquid Lipstick in Glory see here

Another lip product I know, before I start I adore Revolution as a brand and think the quality is incredible for the price. However, I was well and truly disappointed with this one. I am a massive lover of liquid lipsticks and from Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kit other brands like Revolution jumped on board. I love the colour, I mean I’m a massive brown toned fan especially for winter time and I was really looking forward to rocking this. Yet, when I applied this I just knew it wasn’t for me. The product felt really sticky and really hard to move around the lips, it felt heavy and wasn’t very comfortable. I obviously persevered with this and let it dry which may I add took quite some time. It felt awful on the lips and every time I moved my mouth I could just feel it there.

It then just started to just crumble away and it look awful after a couple of hours on from application. The remains of this just stained my lips and was a complete bugger to get off. I mean how do I make this work? The formula for me was just way off and I refuse to use it any more. I’m a bit gutted because it’s the first product from Revolution that I just haven’t got on with.

Zoeva – Luxe Petit Crease Brush, 231

Now, I love Zoeva brushes. They are one of my most favourite brands for them and I have a lot of them in my collection. However, I just can’t seem to get on with this brush. I love the shape of it to get into the crease especially for the darker shades and it feels so soft but actually it just really hurts my eye. It’s just so harsh and I’m not that heavy handed but it doesn’t really apply my eyeshadow that great. It’s really annoying because the shape is just perfect, but I just can’t keep going through the pain. I have tried it countless times, using it for different things and every time I’m left with a red eye and disappointed. I think it’s time to say goodbye to this brush sadly.

Ted Baker – Eyelash Curler

Again, I’m sorry I can’t find a link for these. I know it’s another Ted Baker product, I’m sorry. Now I don’t use an eyelash curler every day mainly because I forget but I love the results it gives me. The whole point of an eyelash curler is to curl your lashes right? Well this just does absolutely nothing. I didn’t think you can go wrong with one of these but oh my I was wrong. I’m better off not going through the faff and just apply mascara. It’s annoying because it looks really pretty but it’s a no from me. Seriously what’s the point of it if it doesn’t curl your lashes?

Sleek – Full Fat Lash Mascara see here

So anything that claims to give me a lot of volume I’m all for. I actually got this in a set and I was really looking forward to trying this. I have never tried a sleek mascara before and most of the products I had used before from Sleek I enjoy. I really didn’t get on with this, I didn’t get much volume from this at all. In fact it coated my lashes and that was about it, didn’t lengthen – nothing. When I did wear it, it just flaked off throughout the day and created the lovely panda look. Seriously not about that life.

I just get frustrated when a mascara claims to be volumising and does near enough nothing I mean who tests this out? I don’t have oily lashes and I don’t have issues with other mascaras. Mascara’s can work on different people so I hope it’s not a complete write off but it just doesn’t work for me and I was left very disappointed.

That’s all folks, I’m glad I don’t do these posts very often but I think it’s worth letting you know the products that aren’t so great for me. Let me know if you have tried any of these products I have mentioned and how they have worked out for you.

Empties #13

Hello my lovelies,

Another empties post, I find these my most favourite posts to write and actually they are my favoruite blog posts to read. One because I’m really nosy and two I feel that you get a greater understanding of how the products performed and whether a person would buy it again. I need to keep on top of these as I don’t know if 10 products per post is a little much because I do go on a little. If you want to read my previous empties post see here

Herbal Essences – Hello Hydration Shampoo see here

Yes I know I haven’t finished the conditioner but there is still a lot left I thought well lets just get it over an done with. I really enjoy Herbal Essences as a brand their hair care is probably one of my favourites because it’s affordable and they do a good job of cleaning my hair. With the winter months I chose this one as I thought I needed to give my hair some TLC and it did just the trick. The products definitely work better as a pair, I mean they work well individually just not as well. I would definitely repurchase this again especially with the scents of all their ranges. However, currently I am trying to inject some volume into my hair through my shampoo but I’m sure I will pick this up again soon.

Lush – Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Now I’m sorry because I can’t link this because it is seasonal for Christmas.. but I have so many bottles of this stuff to use over the course of the year and this was one of them. This is my all time favourite shower gel I have ever used. The smell is incredible, extremely sweet so it does depend on your tastes but I love it. The smell actually lingers on your body for hours too which I love. Who doesn’t want to smell of candy cane!? It’s also pink and has glitter in it – what more could you ask for. Every year I make sure I pick up multiple bottles, if you haven’t smelt this make a mental note to pop into a Lush store around Christmas time to smell this. I promise you, you won’t regret it.

Rimmel – Fix & Protect Make Up Primer see here

I have made it my mission recently to start using up primers, I have so many and this one I have just used to finally get rid of it as it’s been in my collection for quite some time. I don’t believe this is the first bottle of this I would say second. I used to really love this but I think as I have delved into the primer world more and more there are better quality products on the market now.

I mean for a drugstore primer it’s OK and I mainly use this as my SPF as not all my foundations contain SPF so this is a little savior. Do I think this keeps my make up on for longer or improves the look of my skin, not really. Although I have loved this, I think I have grown out of it so I don’t think I will be repurchasing this again, you have been good to me Fix & Protect now it’s time to move on.

Benefit – Precisely my Brow Pencil in Shade 4 see here

For me this is a holy grail eyebrow product. I absolutely adore it and I panic every time this is running low and I have to go and buy another. I have been through quite a few of these babies in recent years, it’s just perfect. I don’t do my whole brow with it, mainly to define and add a little more colour and shape to the sparse areas of my brows. I just can’t live without it, I have tried and failed.

I have been running low of this for a little while and every website I went on was sold out of this in my shade, I had no idea how popular it was but I completely know why. In my eyes Benefit really shine when it comes to brow products, I have never been disappointed. I love this so much it made it to my Top 3| Eyebrow Products Seriously if you haven’t tried this brow range, it’s a must!

Garnier – Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water see here

Another holy grail product. I don’t actually think I could live my life without this product. It is the only micellar water I will ever use, I have been through countless bottles of this stuff and I know I will buy it until the end of time. My skin loves it and it works so well, I use it morning and night without fail. There is so much for this love in the beauty world and there is a damn good reason why, because its AMAZING. I’m sure I could write an essay about this but I won’t because it would bore everyone to tears. Honestly if you haven’t tried this before, please go down to your nearest store and pick it up!

Benefit – Porefessional see here

Another primer, I told you I was trying to use some of mine up. This is a difficult one for me, this was one of the first ever primers I used and I love it. It reduces the look of pores and creates a soft even base to apply the rest of your make up but I have found a lot better alternatives at a fraction of the price. Seriously, in my opinion it isn’t worth the money.

I’m not saying its a bad product but I would save your pennies. This used to be such a popular product in the beauty world because primers were not so available from other brands but now they are, it’s just not very competitive now there is no wow factor. I mean if someone brought this for me I wouldn’t be disappointed I just personally wouldn’t spend my money on it.

L’Oreal – Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation see here

This is one of my favourite foundations ever, it’s definitely my favourite from the drugstore. It’s a matte foundation which is a winner when it comes to my oily skin and just blends wonderfully. It’s such a buildable foundation and it’s so easy to apply. If I am ever unsure on what to apply I usually go for this one. It’s such a great all rounder. I actually like that it is in a squeezy tube because you can actually use all the product up. I have mentioned this in my Top 3: Drugstore Foundations which goes into further detail about this product. I have already repurchased this and using it near enough daily.

Sephora – Green Tea Face Mask see here

I have been really bad recently at not using face masks I just always forget, but I remembered I had this in my collection and I was having a bad time with my skin and I knew this would make it a lot better. This has to be my favourite sheet mask as I actually notice a difference when using this and it really helps my skin out. It aims to mattify and combat blemishes which I would totally agree with. It’s so annoying because I can’t get hold of this in the UK, it’s definitely on my list to buy a fair few of these when I go to New York later on in the year!

Primark – Oval Cosmetic Pads

Do I even need to explain any more how much I love these!? They are in near enough every single Empties post I write. They are the only cotton pads I will use and I will continue to use until they stop producing them. For 90p they are amazing and the best quality cotton pads I have used. Go to Primark and get yourself a pack, try them out and try and come back to tell me that they are rubbish because I know you won’t you’ll fall in love just like I have.

Kiehl’s – Ultra Facial Cream (Sample) see here

I have had this sample for quite some time and I have always wanted to try this because so many people love this product. I thought I was going to fall in love, but I just thought it was actually quite standard. For me there is nothing to write home about, its a moisturiser it’s nice but I have better ones in my collection that I enjoy a whole lot more. This is what I love about samples because you can try them out before you invest money especially when skincare is not cheap. I don’t think I will be buying this myself anytime soon.. I’m sorry Kiehl’s I really wanted to fall in love but I didn’t.

We have made it to the end, gold star to you if you managed to get to the end it’s a fairly lengthy read! Let me know if you have used any of these products before and what your thoughts are.

Review – Rimmel: Sculpting Palette by Kate Moss

Hello my lovelies

For me, finding contour products of any sort is actually hard to find. I mean a good all in one palette which you can use all the shades and enjoy. As much as I love the drugstore when it comes to any kind of palette they aren’t the greatest. When Rimmel brought out this sculpting palette I was thinking, oooh do we have a contender. It did take me a while to pick up – I’m not sure why but I finally did and I thought it was about time that I share with you exactly my thoughts.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

So I picked this up from Boots and I decided on 002 Coral Glow. For me it seemed like the medium shade and as I’m not completely pale the middle shade should work. From the outside I love the packaging. It works with my aesthetics – copper yes please! It’s compact so perfect for travelling and it’s nice and easy to see the shades. It just works and I love the look of it. It does mean that it doesn’t come with a mirror but I don’t think it would look right if it came with one.

Another great thing is that I love on the back it comes with instructions written and visual of where to apply each of the products. For me, this is amazing. I’m no makeup artist so it’s good to double check if you are applying it in the right places and if you are new into the world of contouring or make up generally then these little things really do make a difference.

For whatever reason, I didn’t swatch the shades in store. I decided because of all the lovely reviews I had read and see on this product I didn’t need to. Now, this is the biggest regret because I really don’t think I would of picked it up..

We will start with the first shade – the highlight/ illuminator. So from just looking at it, it doesn’t look like much – I wouldn’t pick a shade like this normally for me it’s just a little something of nothing. However, the person I am I do try everything and all I would say is that it is OK. If you have a lot of highlighters like me you will apply this and feel as though it is very basic. It produces a nice colour but not the glow I’m after.

I like to have a bit more of a glow, I mean if you are someone who wants a subtle highlight then I think you would really like this. But for a highlighter junkie for me it just doesn’t really hit the spot. On days that I’m not wearing a lot of make up then this is perfect however it’s not something I do very often so I very rarely use it.

Next shade the Contour/sculpting shade. Now for me I don’t think a contour shade should have specs of glitter in it. It should be a matte shade to chisel those cheek bones. This does have specs of glitter in which I was willing to see past it to see how it faired. Well the pigmentation is awful, I mean really awful. The amount of product you have to get on your brush is ridiculous. I can’t make it work for me, maybe the shade is too light for me but it did absolutely nothing for me. I have never been so disappointed in a contour shade in my life.

Finally we have the blush shade which looks beautiful my sort of blush. It’s a soft coral toned pink with very few specs of glitter. If I am honest this is what drew me to this trio the most is the blush shade. You can’t go wrong with a blush surely? Well you can because it has no pigmentation to it. Below is a picture of all three shades and I seriously can’t do any better I put so much product on my finger and it comes up as nothing. I can’t use it. It’s completely pointless. What’s the point of applying a product that you can’t see. It’s so frustrating because it’s such a lovely colour in the pan.

Overall, I am hugely disappointed in the this product. It ticked all the right boxes on paper but the performance of the shades is just dismal. I’m not sure how this was able to be retailed in my opinion it’s really something of nothing. I mean the only shade I could use from this trio is the highlighter but it wouldn’t be used very often. I hate writing bad reviews but I am being honest and I wish there is something that would make me keep it but there isn’t.

This sadly will be going in the bin, or I’ll see if one of my friends want to give it a go. Maybe I just got a poor quality one but I just don’t think that I want to go try the same one, maybe a different shade but I’m assuming they are all made in the same way. It’s even worse because this is the first ever product from Rimmel that I have truly disliked. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone it’s really not worth the money.

Let me know how you have got on with this, maybe you feel the same as me or maybe you have got it to work for you. Sadly on this occasion it wasn’t for me. It’s such a shame because the amount of reviews I have read on this being a great product is ridiculous!

Review| Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

Hello my lovelies,

I feel that drugstore foundations don’t get reviewed as much as the higher end brands so I thought I would treat everyone and have a talk about a foundation that I have found whilst browsing the likes of Boots. For me, as I have got older I have struggled to find foundations that work for me. I have developed an oily complexion which is just great! I used to be able to pick up near enough any foundation and it would work, now it’s a blooming hard job to find one I like and actually does the job I need. I have tried the likes of high end right down to the cheapest brands on the hunt to find the perfect foundation..

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

The Rimmel Match Perfection foundation I picked up a good few months ago and after a lot of applications I thought I would share my thoughts with you. For reference I picked up the shade 103 True Ivory, although I’m not crazy pale I’m not blessed with the best skin tone. The colour is actually a really good match for my skin tone – I do sometimes struggle with colour matching as the artificial lights in the shop never give a true colour shade! I love that nearly all of the Rimmel foundation’s come in a glass bottle, it makes it more durable and more desirable to use as they just look that much better than a tube.

Another must for me is a pump, this whole pouring malarkey is not for me. I always manage to pour way too much so I never really buy foundation without a pump or I have to buy one. Another plus is that is has SPF 20 in, this is something that I really do look out for in a foundation. In the winter months you can still damage your skin from the sun when it makes an appearance so to know I don’t have to put another product on my face every day is a winner for me!

I use around two pumps on my face for full coverage, I would say this is a medium coverage foundation but is buildable depending on what your preference is. Now what actually drew me to this foundation was the claim of ‘pore blurring’ doesn’t everyone want this!? Now I don’t have the biggest pores in the world but they are visible so anything to minimise this is a winner from me. I also really love how lightweight the foundation is on my skin, it never looks cakey and stays in place for a good 10 hours.

I find that this foundation works well both with a brush or a beauty blender, there isn’t no major difference both do the same job. Which is great because I do like to mix up my applicators – it gets boring using the same thing!

However, as much as the application is great and feels nice it doesn’t work with my skin. This is not for us oily girls – as soon as I apply this I have a shiny forehead. I do think this is my fault as I didn’t pay much attention to the whole ’24 hour moisture’ BUT having said that I don’t expect it to be making my skin look visibly worst as soon as I apply it. When powdered it does look good but the whole topping up with powder is a massive must for this foundation – this is not for me.

I don’t find that it makes any difference to my pores, they look exactly the same so it’s major selling point just doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t know if because I’m oily it counteracts this but seriously I’m not that oily! It’s gutting because I actually really like everything else about this foundation and I have applied this so many time and still to this day I’m undecided as to whether I can see past it’s flaws or not.

If you have dry skin then I’m more than 80% sure that you will enjoy this, I’m clearly the idiot that didn’t pick up on the whole moisture part. It’s annoying because the foundation itself and the texture is amazing I just wish it was more of a mattifying foundation because actually it isn’t that dewy.

I’m so undecided about this – I do think I will use the rest of the bottle because I don’t completely hate this. I just have to powder an awful lot before I leave the house. I don’t think I would repurchase and I think going forward I will be reading the whole bottle before I commit to buying foundation. You live and learn right!

Let me know if you have tried this foundation and what your thoughts are – I would love to know. Also, any oil control/mattifying foundations that you love send them my way!

Empties #8

Hello my lovelies,

I know another empties post, I seem to be using up an awful lot of products recently! I would say this is going to be a long post so you may want to grab yourself a cup of tea/coffee because there is quite a lot to go through. Strangely enough I have gone through an awful lot of make up products recently which doesn’t normally happen. I suppose that means more space to buy more makeup, I’m not complaining!

Soap & Glory – The Fab Pore Pore-Refining Sheet Mask see here

I have only recently picked this up which I mentioned in my recent Boots Haul I was so keen to try this out. 1. Because Soap and Glory have brought out masks – like I need no other reason and 2. Because weirdly I have never tried a sheet mask before – I know it’s shocking!

I was really skeptical to try this out as it isn’t something I have ever been inclined to try but generally people really like sheet masks & I thought what is the harm in trying. This mask just shouted to me everything that I have: large pores and oily skin – I was sold. I fell in love with this – well and truly. I have never tried a sheet mask before but I’m sold after trying this. It smells very clean and soothes your skin. I could really notice the difference in my skin after taking this off. My pores were extremely clean and visibly reduced in size – WINNING. It does say that you can only use this once but I used this twice on two separate days and I had no issues just obviously remember to put it back in the packet. I will definitely be buying some more of these little babies!

Juicy Couture – Peace Love & Juicy see here

I get really happy when I finally finish a perfume – they seem to take blooming ages. I am sorry to see this one go as I really enjoyed it – first off I just love the bottle it’s fun and it always looked pretty in my collection. I can’t really put my finger on what this really smells of – when I look the notes of the perfume none of them really hit me. It is a musky scent with elements of sweetness through the apple. It really is a lovely fragrance and I used to wear this on a daily basis to work.

I don’t quite think this scent is good for a night out, I don’t feel like it is strong enough and the scent does wear off quite quickly but it is nice for a spritz especially to start the day off. I’m not sure if I would repurchase this, although I enjoyed this I didn’t enjoy it enough to warrant repurchasing. I think if I received this as a gift I would be happy. Just to not worth spending my pennies on just yet!

Liz Earle – Cleanse & Polish see here

This product is AMAZING, I urge EVERYONE to go try it out if they haven’t already. It is seriously my favourite cleanser of all time. I have spoken in more detail about this product in my Top 3 – Cleansers Liz Earle is a beautiful brand that really has aced skincare. I haven’t used this product for a couple of months and as soon as I went back to it my skin loved me again.

It was like falling in love all over again, everything about this product I adore. I can’t even think of one negative, the value of money is actually pretty impressive. I always have not one but two bottles of this stuff waiting in the wings. My other cleansers just can’t quite beat this one at the moment my skin has really enjoyed it and I won’t be changing up again anytime soon. Long may love affair with this product continue. I LOVE YOU CLEANSE & POLISH.

Batiste – Dry Shampoo in Blush see here

Dry Shampoo really is my savior in life, seriously I don’t know what I would do with out it. Batiste for me is  the best affordable dry shampoo out there. I have never had any issues with this and is a key staple in my minimal hair routine on a day to day basis. It covers a multiple of sins and instantly makes your hair look acceptable. I don’t really have a preference on the fragrance, to me they all smell the same so I just pick whatever up if I’m honest.  Don’t worry guys I have already replaced this – I always have a back up!

Benefit – Precisely, My Brow Pencil in 4 see here

Another holy grail product that I simply cannot live without. I really think Benefit for brows are blooming incredible. I haven’t tried a brow product from them that I haven’t not liked. By far this is my favourite though. I use this to fill in the front of my brows and is able to create the perfect hairs, giving a more natural finish. I have gone through about 3 or 4 of them now and I’m not even bothered that they are £20 each I just know I have to have it in in my life. I have even mentioned this in my Top 3| Eyebrow Products I just don’t know how to live my life without it. Again I already had a backup of this waiting to use as soon as this one ran out.

Primark – Oval Cosmetic Pads

These are in every single empties post, I just love them and they are the only cotton pads I use, I refuse to use anything else. I was worried I was going to have to use different cotton pads as I went into local Primark and they had none, I then went into the Bournemouth Primark while I was visiting and they didn’t have any either. I was getting myself into a right old panic, but thank the lord my sister who lives in Brighton saved the day and found two packs in her local store complete LIFE SAVER, thank you Kelly I am now whole again.

KIKO – Compact Powder in Shade 100

Hmm, I think this has been discontinued – sorry guys! I did pick this up around a year ago and unfortunately they change their packaging and products up quite often. If I’m honest it’s no massive shame it was quite an average powder and I am actually pleased I have finished this because I was getting really bored. I just doesn’t have any amazing quality and only just did the job. For me, it wasn’t brilliant for oil control I was forever having to top up which I hate to do. It is a nice little compact though and the mirror was very handy. Even if this was still available I wouldn’t be repurchasing.

Clinique – Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer (tester) see here

When this foundation came out from Clinique I just had to try it out, however I was scared to pick up a bottle invest the money and realise it wasn’t for me. However when I went to a Clinique counter and explained my predicament they were more than happy to colour match me & provide me with a sample! I highly recommend doing this for high end foundations because everyone’s skin is different.  Although it’s a small pot it has probably given me around 10 applications which I think is quite impressive.

By my 3rd application I was sold and I ran out to buy the full size version, I fell in love. It has taken me a while to use this up because I feel this is isn’t a foundation I could wear on a daily basis due to how heavy it is but I have finally used it up & now I’m onto the full sized bottle! I will be posting a full review on this, so do keep your eyes peeled!

Collection – Lasting Perfection Concealer in Cool Medium see here

Do I even really need to explain how much I love this concealer? I have gone through countless tubes of this, like I would say 30+ I honestly can’t find anything that really rivals this especially the price point for this. I have explained why I love this so much in my Top 3 – Concealers so head on over there if you want a little more information. Collection have really done well and I will forever buy this until there is no more (I REALLY hope this never happens!)

Rimmel – Brow This Way Styling Gel in Mid Brown see here

Although this is not completely empty, it has gone really gloopy and horrible so I thought it was best to get rid of it! I quite like using this actually, for a tinted styling gel it’s not bad. I can’t leave the house without setting my brows, I really don’t know how people miss this step out! For me I do prefer using a clear brow gel because normally I don’t want to use any more colour and I am happy with that and it is just a case of setting them into place. However if your not into doing much with your brows this is the perfect product to run through your brows on little or no makeup days. It gives your brows that definition and colour. Weirdly I have another one of these in my collection so I will continue to use this however I’m not 100% sure if I will buy it again..

NYX – Retractable Lip Liner is Sand Beige see here

Another lip pencil, I don’t like actually putting lipstick on without a lip liner anymore and this one has been my go to shade for the longest time. I am completely gutted this has run out because I just love it. It is the perfect shade for a lot of my brown lipsticks I own and is so creamy. I much prefer the retractable lip liners as there is no need for sharpening. I need to go and pick this up again ASAP as well as other colours, and let me tell you there are lots in this range!

Natural Collection – Wild Strawberry Body Spray

OH MY GOD… IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED!! I am so unhappy about this, I blooming love this scent. I have had this for the longest time and always have a spritz and now this love affair is over. I am so sad 😦

This is a gorgeous obvious strawberry scent and was perfect when I wanted to smell fruity. I am absolutely gutted. Urgh, I have a lot of other body sprays but I’m sure I’m not the only one who loved these sprays – Boots you are going to have to bring them back!

Boots Haul

Hello my lovelies

To me there is nothing better than walking around Boots and finding new products. I could quite happily spending hours walking up and down every single aisle and seeing what takes my fancy and having a look at what brands have brought out recently. I have been on a bit of a spending ban recently so I haven’t posted my standard monthly buys post because I haven’t been buying much recently.

I know I’m shocked in myself that I haven’t been shopping in a while, but I am saving myself for my trip to Paris in September so I can visit Sephora. I have never been to one of their stores before so I am extremely excited! However I was going stir crazy recently that I hadn’t picked any new products up recently and I thought to myself go and treat yourself – I didn’t need much persuading!

Collection – Contour Kit see here

I have wanted to pick this up for the longest time but for some reason it has never made my basket before. I am really getting into contouring and annoyingly most of my favourite contouring products are high end, I thought to myself surely I can find a drug store equivalent. I am hoping this will be the one, I am not 100% convinced with the highlight shade but the contour shade looks pretty good to me. I am sure I will post a review soon on my thoughts so keep your eyes peeled!

L’Oreal – Lip Paint Nude-Ist (212) see here

Liquid lipsticks are my thing. I have an awful lot, I just love them. I do feel that it is hard to get a liquid lipstick right I have tried quite a few that are not great but also a whole load that I absolutely adore. I saw recently L’Oreal brought out their own version and I just thought it was rude not to try it out. Although it is a brown lipstick, which I have a lot of this shade is completely different to anything I own. I would say that it is a purple toned brown, it’s quite beautiful. I am beyond excited to try this out and whether it lives up to my high expectations..

Rimmel – Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in 800 Midnight & 830 Blue Iris see here

So Rimmel have also joined the band wagon on liquid lipsticks and I thought it would be rude not to try them out. I mean for whatever reason I have gone for two colours that are more autumn/winter appropriate but I am sure I will be pulling them off all year round. I am trying to get into this whole blue lip thing, I am a little nervous but I really think it looks so good and I always say to myself you have to go out of your comfort zone every once in a while so that’s exactly what I am going to do. Their shade range is actually pretty impressive for a recent launch I really think there is a shade for everyone. Also with Rita Ora fronting the campaign I couldn’t not refuse!

Collection – Lasting Perfection Concealer in Cool Medium see here

This is a cult item for me, I can’t live without it. It’s THE best concealer on the market and I cannot be without it. I always have a backup of this and every time I am in Boots I pick it up for the price you really cannot go wrong. For anyone that hasn’t tried this little beauty out yet – WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? Go try it, it will change your life and also cover up everything you need to.

L’Oreal – Infallible Mattifying Base see here

I have had this in the past and I love it, it really is an amazing primer and for whatever reason I stopped buying it. When I was in Boots and I saw it I just knew I needed to pick it up. Especially as unfortunately my skin is now quite oily a matte base is exactly what I need and great for oil control. I really hope when I try it again I will love it as much as I used to!

Soap & Glory – Peaches & clean Deep Cleansing Milk see here

This now my third bottle of this stuff, I blooming love it! It really is so impressive, it does exactly what it says on the tin and I don’t really have anything negative to say about it. I have a full review of this stuff here if you are thinking of picking up this may help. I always have to have a bottle of this stuff in my collection because I know I can always rely on this little baby doing what I need it to do. I don’t think it will ever rival my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish but it is sitting at my number 2 spot. Not bad for a cleanser that costs £8!

L’Oreal – Mega Volume Miss Baby Roll Mascara see here

I don’t own many L’Oreal Mascaras, for whatever reason a lot of them don’t agree with my lashes. My favourite is the Miss Manga it’s pretty damn amazing especially if you are needing a high impact mascara which is what I love. When I saw they brought this one out I thought it would be rude not to give it a go. I mean the packaging is so cute, I was sold as soon as I saw it. I really hope I enjoy it as much as my Miss Manga, don’t you worry once I have had a little play around with this I will be sure to post my thoughts.

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing Water see here

This stuff is AMAZING. It is seriously the BEST micellar water I have ever tried and I refuse to buy anything else. I have gone through countless bottles and long may this continue, I love that this year they have brought out a bigger bottle as it lasts so much longer and better value for money. As my current one was beginning to run out I knew it was time to get a new one so I won’t be without it. Honestly if you have never tried this, please I beg you go try it out I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Soap & Glory – Pore Refining Mask see here

These are new to the scene from Soap and Glory and I am so blooming excited to try this out. I seriously need all the help I can get when it comes to reducing the size of my pores. I have tried a lot of different masks and nothing seems to of really made a difference. I am hoping that this will actually do something because to me at £3.50 a pop this is quite expensive! I also have never used a sheet mask before so this will be a complete new experience for me. Don’t you worry guys I will report back on my findings soon.

Soap & Glory – Vitamin C Facial Wash see here

Last but by no means least another Soap and Glory product. They had buy one get one half price on and I thought it would be rude not to take advantage of this. This is another product from them I have never tried before and I am quite looking forward to trying this out. For a face wash it looks quite interesting and I am all up for trying new things. It says it smooths, cleans and purifies – these are pretty big statements and I will be sure to let you know if this is the case or not. For me this is quite an expensive facial wash at £8 but if it does what it is claiming then I will be impressed..

That’s all folks! Let me know if you have tried any of these products out yourself and what your thoughts are on them, I’d love to know!

June Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

Another month has passed us, filled with lots of sunshine and for me lots of prosecco. I made sure this month I focused on me & spent time with all my favourite people. I spent a lot of time in pub gardens of an evening which for me is the perfect way to spend summer evenings. With June out of the way my Birthday countdown can begin, hello July!

This month has been falling in love with a lot of new products that I brought in May and now I don’t think I could live my life without them I also have fell back in love with some oldie but goodies. You know the ones that you forget about because you have brought something else.. I’m sorry products, I love you all promise, there is enough love to go around!

Liz Earle – Deep Cleansing Mask see here

In recent months I haven’t been very kind to my skin, I neglected my skin of some TLC and just did the basics. This month I vowed to improve my skin and take care starting with a good old face mask. This is a trusty mask that I blooming love, it is actually in my Top 3. It really has done my skin the world of good and I feel that it has cleared my pores and gave my skin a deep clean which is exactly what I needed. It has some lovely indigents and using this once a week has really made such a different to my skin. Liz Earle, you are my savior as always.

Nip & Fab – Viper Venom Micro Blur Fix see here

This is something I picked up in the month of May – I was in need of a new primer and boy I fell in love. Well I say I needed, I actually just wanted to try out something new. Seriously I think everyone needs to go and buy this right now, it’s life changing. The application is just wonderful and does an incredible job of getting my makeup to stay in place all day even with my oily T-Zone! It is seriously worth the money, this is the only primer I have been using this month and don’t see myself using anything else anytime soon. As this is my first product from Nip & Fab it has certainly encourage me to try out more of their products – FYI Nip & Fab products are stocked in TK MAXX & Homesense with amazing discounts!

Kat Von D – Tattoo Liner see here

Another purchase for the month of May. I just knew I was going to love this, and boy I was not disappointed. I don’t think I could ever fall in love with an eyeliner but I now know it’s possible. My eyes have looked so damn good this month and this has made a massive difference. I didn’t honestly realise applying liner could be so easily, there is no smudging it stays, all day. Trust me. I am so happy that I have this product in my life, I am well and truly content.  I think this love affair will continue for a long time!

I heart Makeup – Goddess of Love Triple Baked Highlighter see here

In the summer months, highlighter really is a must. I mean I use it all year round but in the summer it looks that much better. When the sun is shining I much prefer a golden highlight and this highlight I just can’t seem to put down at the moment. Although it looks golden when it catches the light it is a beautiful pink shade. It is perfect for day to day wear and I can’t seem to get enough of it. Looking at is it seriously does not look like I have used this much but trust me I have.

For £5 – this seriously is amazing and I would head down to your local Superdrug to go pick it up. You won’t be disappointed I promise! Who can resit this being in a heat shape anyway!?

Rimmel – Nail Polish 860 Bestival Blue see here

I blooming love this colour, as I am typing this post this is my nail colour. I think this is my most worn shade of nail polish. It is perfect for the warmer weather and Rimmel is one of my favourite brands for nail polish. They are super long lasting, very rarely chip and the colours are beautiful. I know people always rate the likes of Essie and China Glaze, but for £2.99 these are better in my opinion..

I have actually wrote a post of my favourite Spring Nail Polishes which includes this beautiful shade, go check it out as promise they are all affordable.

Crown – 35 Color Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette see here

Last but by no means last, my favourite product hands down for the month of June is this palette. Again this is another purchase from the month of May and I can say hand on heart this is the only palette I have used all month. It is incredible, first off the shades are absolutely beautiful, they are slightly out of my comfort zone but actually I love them and I think they really suit me. The pigmentation is incredible, I mean seriously for 35 shades for £20 I would urge everyone to go and get one.

I don’t want to say too much because I will be doing a detailed review in the months to come and to show the shades a little more because my oh my they are just wonderful. I wanted to buy a Morphe palette but the one I want is constantly sold out – now I don’t think I will bother because I have now found the palette of dreams.

May Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

Another month has been and gone in the blink of an eye. It’s been a very exciting month for me full of laughs, spending time with my favourite people and prosecco. The sun has been shinning and spring is in full swing ready for the summer months. I always feel that the sunshine makes everything better and I always feel a lot better.

This month, I have tried to use products in my collection that I wouldn’t normally use. I am a creature of habit and I decided it was time for a change up. I always seem to fail at this, but I have that come to the conclusion I really do not need any more beauty products but I always seem to buy more. I need help!

Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Fab Orange see here

Recently, I have been loving lip pencils. They are so creamy and I feel that they are more long lasting than a lipstick. Spring and summer for me is all about orange shades, I am not a massive pink wearer so this is an amazing colour alternative. First of all, I love the shade name because this truly is fab! The formulation is incredibly creamy and effortlessly goes onto my lips. This is a super long wearing formulation which I love, anything that saves me from touching up through the day is a winner for me!

It is a matte finish which is my favourite, I have never been a fan of lip gloss or a gloss finish it’s just not for me. This is a beautiful red toned orange. I wear this on a daily basis for work etc. but it would also be great for a bright lip in the evening with a golden make up look. I have a few of these from this range and I seriously love all of them but this colour is my favourite by far. If you are on a budget and can’t afford the NARS Velvet Matte Lip pencils this is a great dupe for it!

Jo Malone – Early Grey & Cucumber Cologne see here

I recently brought this in April see here and I knew I would fall in love with it and I really have. It was the perfect scent while I was on holiday and I wear it as much as I possibly can. I am obsessed. I am awful at describing scents but it reminds me of parma violets. It is a sweet scent but the Earl Grey scent makes it more sophisticated. While the cucumber brings the perfume a lighter, softer scent.

I think that was a really awful description but I seriously would go into your local Jo Malone store and go give it a smell. You’d never think that the two scents would work together but seriously they do and you shouldn’t knock it until you have tried it! I really want Jo Malone to come out with other products in this range because I would buy the whole lot!

L’Oreal Mega Volume Black Angel Miss Manga Mascara in Extreme Black see here

I have had this in my collection for some time, and in the past this has been my favourite mascara. I think because I went through a stage of trying new mascaras I forgot about it which is a shame. When I was having a bit of a clear out I saw this and I fell back in love. It gives my lashes some serious volume instantly. One coat of this and I am happy with the outcome, and I never feel as though it’s too clumpy.

The whole wand is something to get used to as it is rather bendy, but with perseverance I am sure you will love it. It’s easy to remove with a cleanser which is another bonus for me. I don’t have the time to be rubbing my eyes for 5 minutes to try and remove mascara. If you are in need of a new mascara and you are wanting volume I would seriously recommend this.

LOLA Barcelona Nail Polish in Born see here

This is another product I have had in my collection for a long time and never really used. I received this in a Birchbox a couple of years ago and this month was the first time I used it (bad, I know!). It’s a beautiful muted purple colour and perfect for spring time. I didn’t realise how much I would like the colour until I applied it onto my nails. I am normally the sort of person that mixes up my nail polish every week. With this one I had it on for a good 3 weeks – I love it.

It’s a lovely formula, I would say two coats of this and it creates the perfect colour. It is fairly long lasing for a nail polish actually and didn’t start chipping until day 5 which I think is quite impressive. The shades on the website look good so I may have to pick up more of these beautiful shades!

Seventeen – Define and Conquer Contour Kit see here

This year has been the year where I have really tried to perfect contouring. I contour every day and I think I am still trying to find the perfect combination of products. This month I pulled this out of my draw and thought I should give it a proper go. I am impressed. The packaging very much reminds me of NARS, which actually I really like. It is a matte contour shade which is what I use. I refuse to use a contour with specs of glitter in it. It’s the matte life for me.

The contour shade is perfect for me and really compliments my skin tone. It easily blends into the skin and the pigmentation is pretty impressive. I do find that you can’t really go overboard on this – you can keep packing it on and it will never look like you have two stripes on your face. I must admit I don’t use the highlight shade I’m not sure why and I think next month is my mission to start using it!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 103 True Ivory see here

This is another product that I purchased last month, and this is the only foundation I have used all month. I am in LOVE. It is the perfect foundation for me, the colour match is perfect! I always struggle to colour match myself when it comes to drug store foundations I always either go too light or too dark but this one is perfect, gold star for me!

I would say this is a matte foundation and is pretty good for oil control, however I do use a lot of powder to control this too. It just gives me the perfect base for the rest of my makeup and I never feel cakey or uncomfortable wearing it. I also love for this time of year that it has SPF 20 in it – what more could you want!

NYX – Super Skinny Marker in Carbon Black see here

This is another product thing I don’t change up ever – eyeliner. I don’t know why, for years I have stuck with my Soap and Glory eyeliner and it has never let me down. I thought that it was time for a change and realised I had this in my collection. I love it – it is super fine as the name suggests and is perfect for lining my eyes. The nib is pretty flexible and easy to control.

I never find that this budges from my eyes. There are some eyeliners I have tried in the past which give me panda eyes. No one wants that – especially as my eyes are prone to watering. Mine is starting to run out so I will definitely be heading out to pick one up before this runs out!
