IMATS Haul 2018

Hello my lovelies,

So this post is long overdue, this make up has been sitting in my room for a little while now and I finally have the time to write this post so I can get using the goodies I have brought. If you don’t know IMATS is a international make up artist trade show which travels over the world and comes to London once a year. It is a great day out by getting discounts from your favourite brands as well as finding new brands. You can also watch make up artists in action as well as talks from well known people within the make up industry.

This is my 5th year in going and for me is a massive date in my diary. This year I went with my older sister and one of my close friends who loves make up & beauty nearly as much as I do. I did go into this knowing roughly what I wanted to pick up but then I did get swayed by a lot also, I just can’t help it I’m an addict! We had such a lovely day and after the trade show we ventured to Westfield and sipped cocktails in the sunshine as well as doing a little more shopping, whoops..

If you want to see what I brought last year from IMATS see here

MAC

Skin Base Visage see here

I have wanted this for quite some time, I have received so many testers of this and never got round to buying the full size version so IMATS was the time to finally make the purchase. MAC had 25% off their products which I obviously couldn’t refuse. This is a primer that is extremely lightweight and works amazingly with pretty much any foundation. I’m so happy that this is now back in my life.

Prep & Prime, Fix + see here

I honestly don’t know how I have never picked this up before. I have always wanted to try this out but always told myself I shouldn’t buy it. This was a purchase that I wasn’t expecting to make but with the discount I thought this was the perfect time to add it to my collection. Let’s hope it lives up to the all the amazing reviews I have heard about it.

221S Brush see here

This brush was 100% on my list, I already own one of these babies and I knew I needed another one because I use it every single day. Now I know this is pretty pricey for a small brush but it is totally worth it and to be honest I don’t think I could live without it. For me, this is the perfect crease brush, I found the 217 waaaay to big for my eyes and this is just perfect. Seriously pick it up and try it out for yourself because I couldn’t create an eye look without this baby now, life changing!

Revolution/Revolution Pro

Regeneration – Revelation Eyeshadow Palette see here

One thing I said to myself is that I didn’t need any more eyeshadow palettes but here I am talking about one I brought, whoops.. I want to branch a little with some bright pinks which this really does have and to be honest I got sucked into it because of the glitter shades. I’m really looking forward to experimenting with this palette and for me Revolution are pretty good when it comes to the formula of their eye shadows.

Regeneration – Goldmine Eyeshadow Palette see here

I know, another eyeshadow palette! This one I did see first and I just fell in love with the orange tones of the palette. I am really loving an orange eye and although this isn’t for everyone I am totally rocking it with no shame. I always think if you are wanting to experiment with different colours buy an affordable palette like Revolution and then if you get on with the colour you can always invest in other palettes. I can’t wait to start creating looks with this little baby!

4K Highlighter Palette – Rose Gold see here

I’m a sucker for a highlighter palette and to be honest I didn’t even look at it. My sister just came across and said she was buying one and I was like yea I’ll get one to. Luckily she has good taste and I trust her opinion. These shades are completely up my street and to be honest I haven’t brought highlighter in a while and I thought this would be a perfect addition to my collection.

Supreme Matte Finishing Spray see here

I was running a little light on the amount of finishing sprays I have so I thought rather than buy one lets buy two different ones. I always try and go for a matte finishing spray as that’s the look I prefer especially with my oily complexion. I have tried a Revolution one before which I have just run of, I did actually mention this in my last Empties Post so I thought yeah lets buy another one!

Fast Base Foundation Stick in F6 see here

So lets all be honest this little baby is everywhere in the beauty world and I have tried to get my hands on this for the longest time and they have never had my shade in stock. I finally found my shade and I cannot wait to get using this little baby. I have heard so many things about this product and I also had a good recommendation from my older sister so to me it was a no brainer to try out. I’m sure I will be reporting back on my thoughts of this!

Conceal & Define Concealer in C7 and C3 see here

Yes I also found shades in these babies, I think these have to be my favourite purchase of the weekend because I have been wanting to get hold of these for the longest time. I brought two shades in the end C7 for concealing and C3 for my under eyes as a little brightener. I have been wanting to try these out ever since I brought them and I finally can. I have heard nothing but good things about these so I can’t wait to have perfect skin!

Urban Decay

All Nighter Foundation 2.0 see here

This is a product I knew I wanted to get and I had already been colour matched prior to the event so I knew exactly what I wanted. I cannot wait to try this, again another product I have heard so much about and I cannot wait to try this out. I hope it lives up to my expectations. I haven’t ever actually tried an Urban Decay foundation before but I am completely won over by the packaging – I mean who wouldn’t be!?

Naked Skin Concealer in Light Warm see here

Again another product that I knew I wanted to pick up, I was tempted to buy the All Nighter Concealer but thought that would be a bit too heavy so I thought this would be the perfect pairing with the All Nighter foundation. Seriously, I don’t think I’m going to need any base products anytime soon I’m completely stocked up!

Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Requiem see here

My only liquid lipstick purchase of the haul – be proud! I have two of these in my collection already and I thought it was about time I added another one to my collection. This is something a little bit different to my collection but I thought it was time to mix it up a little. It’s a beautiful purple/pink colour which I think is going to look amazing in the summer months. I mean I’m definitely going to rock it whether people like it or not. I love the shade range that Kat Von D have as they have some really out there shades and to be honest I wish it was acceptable to wear them because I totally would.

OPV – Eyeshadow Palette in Gorgeous II see here

So I brought this on a complete whim but I was just drawn in by the colours and to be honest the pigmentation is insane. This reminded me so much of a Morphe Palette I own but a lot better quality to be honest. I cannot wait to get trying these shades and I just hope the pigmentation is transferred onto my lids. I have never heard of this brand before but I have just realised they are stocked on Beauty Bay so if I like this I may have to explore what else they have to offer.

Nip+Fab – Viper Venom Micro Blue Fix see here

This is my favourite primer and I am running low on the one I currently have and I just knew I needed to buy another. I didn’t actually buy this at IMATS I went to Superdrug after and brought this but I thought it was worthwhile putting this in here. I think this is being discontinued and I am actually gutted, this is amazing and I am obsessed with it. If you prefer silicone based primers then you need to try this. It transforms my skin and works with every single foundation I own. I think I am going to need to buy a few more so I can carry on using this!

That’s all folks, congratulations to you if you made it to the end. It was pretty lengthy! So pleased this is written because now I can start enjoying these products! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them. Also if you have been to IMATS or would like to know a little more information about it let me know and I will answer your questions.

May Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

Another month has gone so quick, seriously how are we nearly half way through the year already? May has been such a busy month for me with my boyfriend dislocating his shoulder and having an operation on top of that so I was full time acting as his nurse! The hot weather was amazing though – me and my puppy was having such a great time in the paddling pool I brought. I also attended IMATS with my sister and my best friend which as always was amazing, I spent way to much money but it only comes around once a year. Do keep your eye out for an upcoming IMATS Haul!

This month because I have been so busy, I have ended up sticking to the same things but these little babies I have been using have really shone out. It is all makeup based this month so if you are a skincare lover this one may not be for you.

Maybelline – Fit Me Foundation in 110 Porcelain see here

I actually picked this up pretty recently which you may have seen in my recent Boots & TK Maxx Haul I was in desperate need of falling in love with a drug store foundation and I may have just found it. It applies like a dream and although looking at the colour it looks pretty pale for me, it actually colour matches really well. I don’t want to go into too much detail as I will be doing a full review on this pretty soon. All I would say is, if you have oily prone skin or are looking for a matte foundation then this may be worth trying out.

Charlotte Tilbury – Hollywood Lips in Show Girl see here

Anyone that knows me, knows that I adore liquid lipstick I am a complete sucker for it. To be honest I thought I had lost this one, whoops! I found it in my handbag at the start of this month and because I couldn’t find it for so long I knew I had to get wearing it. Although it’s not really a spring colour, I love it. It’s a berry colour but not too deep so completely wearable on a daily basis. It’s so comfortable on the lips and to be honest I am a sucker for anything Charlotte Tilbury. Would I pay £24 for another one.. probably not unless I came into some money and I wanted to treat myself. If you have the money for one then I would strongly recommend trying it out the shade range is beautiful!

Huda Beauty – Desert Dusk Palette see here

I have very recently written a full review on my thoughts of this palette here but a little side note before you read it.. I blooming love it. If you have read my review then you will know that I very nearly just gave this away because it wasn’t being used. Thank god I kept it because I can’t stop using it. I have a look that I create on a daily basis and I just love the look and nothing else seems to come close to it. From the picture it looks like I have barely used this but trust me I have used this pretty much every day this month. In my eyes it is well worth the investment, if you are on the fence about this my advice is to buy it. You won’t regret it I promise.

Maybelline – Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light see here

Another recent-ish addition to my collection and as you can see I have used this quite a bit. This however I picked up from Superdrug and to be honest it is perfect for my under eye area. Although I don’t have the brightening one, I don’t think I need it. This does the job and is the perfect colour for me. My only annoyance and I am sure I am not the only one on this is the applicator and how messy it gets – seriously! I also think it’s a little overpriced for what it is especially for the drugstore but it is a great product and I know it is so well loved and now I’m hooked too!

Sephora Lip Cream in Marvellous Move see here

This along with my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick is the only thing that has been on my lips this month. I absolutely adore the formula of this and the colour. I mean this is seriously one of the best liquid lipsticks I have ever come across. My favourite at present is the Huda Beauty Liquid Lipsticks but if they aren’t in your budget then this comes a very close second for me. I can’t wait to go to New York in September mainly so I can go into Sephora and buy more of these shades. I mean the shade range is incredible I didn’t realise they had so many and they are constantly adding new shades to the range. This is my go to spring lip colour – I LOVE IT!

Tarte – Maneater Mascara see here

Last but by no means least, this mascara. I brought this last month as I picked a gift up for my sister as it was here birthday and I thought it would be rude not to treat myself. I was a little sceptical about trying this mascara as I head over heels fell in love with Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and didn’t think I would love anything else. But oh boy was I proved wrong. I don’t think it is better than Lights, Camera, Lashes as they do different things, I love them equally. The only thing I need to get used to is how big the brush/applicator is – it’s pretty overwhelming when you first try to apply the mascara! This gives amazing volume and I am left with no flaky bits on the face throughout the day. I mean I knew everyone loved the Tarte mascaras but didn’t understand why – but now I do and I am completely obsessed, I am sure I will own all of them at some point..

& just like that my May Favourites are done. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them.

Tarte Haul

Hello my lovelies,

Yes I am back with yet another haul, but this one I assure you was a good deal. Tarte is a brand that I really want to try out more I have two of their mascaras (Lights, Camera, Lashes and Maneater) along with the Tarte Toasted Eyeshadow Palette and I absolutely adore them. When I had an email from Tarte informing me that I could get 6 of their products AND a make up bag for £56 it was a complete no brainer. Annoyingly with this offer the shipping was pretty slow but I’m so flipping excited I now don’t care.

Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blushing Bride see here

I have been wanting to get my hands on one of their blushes for the longest time. I mean their shade range is incredible. I haven’t treated myself to a new blush for a long time so I thought that this was the perfect time to do so. The packaging is a little basic but as they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover. It is described as a ‘rosy pink’ and to be honest it is just that. I am hoping it will give me a natural look colour to my cheeks, I will just have to see if it lives up to my expectations.

Tarteist Lip Paint it Front Row see here

Now I couldn’t not pick a matte liquid lipstick up could I? To be honest this was the hardest to choose because I didn’t realise they had SO many colours. I was trying to look for a shade that I don’t really have in my collection, which is actually harder than you think. I haven’t actually heard too much about these so I am unsure on what to expect I’m sure I’ll be letting you know in coming posts whether it lives up to my standards or not!

Tarte – Sex Kitten Eyeliner see here

I’m going to be honest and I’ll say I am a little bit disappointed with this product. However it’s not Tarte’s fault. I thought I chose the liquid liner version but instead I chose the normal liner. I am a liquid liner girl through and through and I have never found a product that deters me away. Maybe I just need to give this a go as it may impress me. Who knows but if I am honest 6 products for £56 and if I wasn’t a fan of one of them it really isn’t the end of the world is it.

Shape Tape Matte Foundation see here

Ok, so this was the main reason I placed the order. Lets be honest with all the press, good and bad, that has surrounded the foundations launch you can’t say you haven’t been interested in trying it out for yourself. My only annoyance is that I obviously couldn’t colour match myself so I am hoping that it works other this would of been a complete waste of money. I went for the matte foundation as this is what works with my skin best and I do have issues with oil control. Don’t you worry I will be testing this out ASAP and get back to you with a review so keep your eyes peeled!

Rainforest of The Sea Aqua Concealer in Fair Light see here

This is another product I have been wanting to try for a very long time. I don’t think the shape tape concealer was available on this offer but actually I’m really excited to try this one. First off the packaging is beautiful and the whole rain forest range when it was first released I was really impressed by the branding. I wanted a concealer that wasn’t so heavy on my skin and this ticked all the right boxes. It is a serum based concealer which conceals and radiates – what more could you want for your under eye area!?

Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara see here

Their mascaras as a whole are heavily talked about in the beauty world and this one was next to try on my list. I love all the different packaging of their mascaras and I know this is so well loved in the community. It feels awfully chunky which I think I will have to get used to but I am sure I will make it work for me. I just hope that I love it as much as the other two mascaras I own from Tarte.

Mermaid Make Up Bag

So I have had a look on the website and I can’t see that this is available – I’m not sure whether this was exclusive to deal that they had or it has sold out but I am obsessed. I do love the whole mermaid vibe and this is perfect. I must say my make up hasn’t fitted in a bag for some years but I find that these are perfect for travelling. Seriously who wouldn’t want their make up sitting in this, I am sure I will get a lot of use out of this in the months to come.

What a great deal? I would strongly recommend taking advantage of the offer if it ever comes around again it’s a great way to try out products that they offer for a fraction of the price. The total price of these products stand alone is £139 so you save yourself a whopping £83 – a complete bargain in my eyes. Let me know what other products I should have a look at next from Tarte and keep your eyes peeled for some reviews on these products!

Empties #15

Hello my lovelies,

Another month another empties post, I seem to do these way more frequently than I ever planned. I always think half way through the month oh I don’t have enough products to do an empties post this month but here we are and I have still somehow managed to get 10 products. Some of these are repeat offenders but some I’m shocked they are  in here, sometimes you forget how quickly you get through products.

Estee Lauder – Day Wear Moisturiser see here

I actually received this as a gift with purchase when I brought some other Estee Lauder products. I personally think this is a great way to discover new products especially higher end brands where you don’t want to risk money for it to not work for you. Now, this was a nice moisturiser, but I didn’t fall in love with it. There wasn’t really nothing special about it, it did the job it smelt nice but that was about it. Would I buy it again, probably not but if I had this in a set or in another gift with purchase I’d happily use it. I’m just not convinced enough to spend my money, sometimes a high end price tag doesn’t always mean it’s going to be an amazing product..

Benefit – Roller Lash Mascara see here

This is probably my favourite Benefit mascara I have tried, to be honest I wasn’t a massive fan on the They’re Real but this was pretty impressive for me. It gave me length and volume, my only issue is that it is a bit of a bugger to remove but I think this is an issue with all Benefit mascara’s. I have had this in my collection for a little while which dried up after time, but it turned into the perfect bottom lash mascara. I never have panda eyes and it doesn’t turn flaky. I think I used pretty much the whole of this product so it was time to say goodbye. I would repurchase this, just not for a little while as my mascara collection is a little excessive right now!

So…? – White Petals Body Mist see here

Body mists remind me so much of my childhood and when I got these I was like will they come into use but actually they do. I have had this in my handbag constantly and near enough on a daily basis I use it. It’s just so refreshing especially in the warmer weather and it smells define. I won’t try to explain the scent because I’m blooming awful at it but it’s definitely on the floral spectrum. I think I would get this again but I do have other scents that I am now using which have now replaced this in my handbag.

Batiste – Dry Shampoo in Sweetie see here

I think this product appears in nearly every single one of my empties, I have no shame because I am still obsessed. I have been switching up the scents recently but apart from that it’s a firm favourite. I would never go out and buy another brand of dry shampoo, my hair routine is pretty basic and this is the only product I have been loyal to for a long time!

Soap and Glory – The Righteous Butter 3-in-1 Creamy Body Wash see here

I’m not really sure what I thought about this product. I received this in a set which I was keen to try as I haven’t really heard much about this product. I wouldn’t really call this a body wash, it was difficult to lather and move around my body (as weird as that sounds) I mean it was really moisturising but in the end I had to use another body wash to feel clean which really defeats the point of this. This product is great to use on your legs to shave them but apart from that I don’t have many more uses for it. To be honest I wouldn’t go out and pay £7 just to use this as a shaving cream, unfortunately this product just wasn’t for me.

KIKO – Ultimate Pen, Long Wear Eyeliner in Black see here

I love a good liquid liner, my eye looks are never complete without it. I used to love trying different brands out but to be honest most of them are pretty much the same. This is a very affordable eyeliner which does exactly what it should. The nib is perfect especially for precision on a winged liner look, it’s proper black. I mean I know that sounds silly to say but sometimes it comes out a grey-ish black and it’s such a disappointment. I also love that it stays on all day, I never have any issues with this fading what so ever which is perfect. Highly recommend for a cheap and cheerful product.

Katy Perry – Killer Queen Perfume see here

I have been finishing quite a few perfume bottles recently and I am pretty proud of myself. This little baby has had a feature recently on my blog in my February Favourites and I still have been absolutely loving it. I didn’t realise how quickly I was going through it so when I had finished it I knew I had to replace it. It’s not very often I feel the need to replace quickly but with this one it was a must. I quickly headed down to my local perfume store and picked it up, for the price it was totally rude not to. This has shown to me not all celebrity perfumes are a write off!

Soap & Glory – Clean on Me Shower Gel see here

Another shower product from Soap and Glory but this time it is a mini. To be honest I’m not sure about this product because there wasn’t enough of it to really get a feel for it. It smelt lovely and to be honest the nicest scent from them, I’m not a fan of a lot of the scents this was actually quite tame. It lathered up nicely and did the job but it no way compares to the likes of Lush which are around the same price point. I don’t think I would repurchase this but I am sure I will receive gifts and I would use them. I mean it isn’t a bad product but it’s not the best..

Garnier – Micellar Water see here

Anyone who knows me remotely knows that I absolutely adore this stuff. I could go on and on for days about this, but I am sure it would bore the pants off of you. Seriously try it. I haven’t come across anyone who doesn’t enjoy this product, it’s just a great affordable product. Like the Batiste Dry Shampoo this is in an awful lot of my Empties post but I did mention this in my Spring Evening Skincare Routine so if you want to know how I use it then go take a look!

Revolution – Amazing Makeup Fixing Spray see here

Another make up product – I know! It doesn’t happen an awful lot. Now, I don’t really use fixing sprays how they should be used. I basically use them to dampen my beauty blender. Now most people will think well that’s an expensive way to wet the blender. Well, yes it is but actually I think it works better than water. As it’s a fixing spray I feel as though my foundation stays on an awful lot longer rather than just using water. I’m a girl although I love make up I don’t have the time on a daily basis to keep topping up my foundation every couple of hours and I have found that this is the perfect way to ensure a long wearing foundation. If you haven’t tried this before then it’s worth a go – trust me!

& that’s a wrap guys. Talking about 10 products turns into a pretty long post so well done if you have got to the end! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them. I’d love to know!

Review: Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette

Hello my lovelies,

I feel like I haven’t written a review in the longest time, so I thought why not review a beautiful looking eyeshadow palette. My problem in the past year is that I have been obsessed with the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette that nothing has really come close. I even stopped buying eyeshadow palettes for a while, I know shock horror! I picked up this little beauty when I was in Berlin in November and for whatever reason only really started using it recently so I thought it was about time I reviewed it.

This has been a very hyped up product in the beauty world, I instantly fell in love with the colours and to be honest with seeing it all over social media I got sucked in and decided to buy it. I love Huda Beauty’s liquid lipsticks, they are sensational so I thought their eye shadows should be pretty amazing. You get 18 shades in this palette which actually is pretty good, a lot of high end palettes don’t provide this amount. The main tones in this palette are orange/red tones with some beautiful glitter shades and the odd crazy colour like the purple.

For whatever reason although it looks beautiful, I never reached for it when I first brought it. Even though I was wearing these sorts of shades I just never picked it up. I then had a massive clear out a couple of months ago and actually I debated just selling this because something so beautiful shouldn’t just be collecting dust. However, I thought I need to give this a proper go – it’s Huda Beauty. So I decided to start using it and creating looks and I have been really impressed. The shades are really pigmented, not in your face pigmented but it doesn’t take 10 minutes to apply one colour to your lids.

I have been loving the orange tones now for some while and these are just beautiful and actually nothing like I have in my collection. I have even gone all out and tried out the pink glitter in here when is called Angelic. Ok I admit it’s pink with a lot of gold in it, but it’s a start right!? I am absolutely obsessed. All the colours are really easy to work with and blend so lovely together.

My favourite shades in the palette from Left to Right of the above picture: Musk, Amber, Blazing, Angelic, Blood Moon & Retrograde.

I have been creating a look with these shades which I am absolutely in love with. Day or night I rock it, seriously I’m just an eyeshadow lover. What I also love about these is there there are no fall out even with glitter shadows which I think is very rare to find. Huda Beauty have done incredibly well to find this amazing formula and for it to work with the different finishes are really impressive.

I absolutely adore this palette and I am shocked and disappointed in myself that I nearly let this little baby go away. Nothing this pretty should ever be sat in a collection collecting dust especially when the shades inside are blooming amazing. I mean there are probably two shades in this palette that I wouldn’t use, well not at the moment any way. These are the purple shades, but this is going waaay out of my comfort zone. 18 months ago I was a complete nude eye shadow girl and was all about the golden look. To go to orange/red tones and to add other colours like pink is a big step for me.

I’m hoping one day I’ll find the courage to rock the purple shades though. I just know I am going to get so much use out of the palette now and to be honest for the past month or so it’s the only palette I have been using because I am so obsessed with the looks I’m creating with it. I’m no eye shadow artist but slowly I’m creating looks that I love and that’s all that matters right?

I can’t tell you how happy I am to have this in my collection and I am in awe of Huda Beauty for creating this beautiful palette. I now have my eyes on their other palettes and I’m sure it won’t take me long to make a cheeky purchase on Cult Beauty. This is seriously a brand that rivals the likes of ABH. If you have never tried anything from Huda Beauty as a whole then I strongly recommend eye shadows and liquid lipsticks.

If you want to pick this up yourself see here – it is the most expensive eye shadow I have ever brought but it does work out to around £3.11 per colour which actually is pretty impressive when you think about it.

Let me know your thoughts on whether you have tried this palette before and also recommendations of what one I should try out next.

Spring Evening Skincare Routine

Hello my lovelies,

I haven’t done a skincare routine for quite some time and as it has changed quite a lot since the last time I shared my routine with you, so I thought I would share it with you. I would just mention before I get into this post that I don’t use all of these products in one evening. It depends whether I have a shower in the evening or what my skin is like on the day. Mainly my skincare is from the drugstore because actually it’s pretty blooming impressive, you don’t need to pay mega bucks to have good skin!

Cleanser: Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean Deep Cleansing Milk see here

This has been a firm favourite for well over a year and I have brought quite a few bottles of this now. It’s such a good cleanser and near enough removes all my make up including mascara. It never irritates my skin or eyes which is a major bonus. I think for £8 you really can’t go wrong and most evenings this is my cleanser of choice. I have actually reviewed this here if you want to read a little more into it.

Second Cleanse: Estee Lauder – Nutritious Micro-Algae Pore Purifying Cleansing Jelly see here

This I actually picked up on a whim around 3 months ago and I have fallen in love with it. It does wonders for my pores and they dramatically look so much better. If you have problems with having large pores and a load of rubbish in them this is the product to sort it out. I don’t use this all the time only when I can be bothered to second cleanse but it really does make the world of difference. Highly recommend this little baby, a little pricey but well worth the investment.

Micellar Water: Garnier – Micellar Water see here

So if you have read any of my previous blog posts then you know I absolutely adore this product. I wouldn’t even like to admit how many of these babies I have brought. This is my savior product and if I had to choose only one skincare product for the rest of my life it would be this one. In my eyes it is simply the best micellar water and I will never try anything else. I use this every evening without fail normally just after cleansing to clear any residue that may of been left including on my eyes. I just find it so refreshing and the perfect product to then move onto the next part of my routine. Seriously if you haven’t used this yet you need to!

Night Moisturiser: Nip + Fab Glycolic Overnight Purifying Gel see here

Now this isn’t a moisturiser as such but I use it as a replacement, it works for me. This is a little sticky when first applied but it does sink into the skin relatively quickly and my skin always feels so much better in the morning. This really works well if you have acne prone skin or suffer with breakouts. My spots always look a lot better in the morning after using this.

Spot Remedy: La Roche Posay – Effaclar Duo see here

So this is quite a new addition to my skincare collection, I think I was definitely the last person in the world to pick this up. To be honest I don’t use it as much as I should and to be honest I use it when my skin is really struggling, mainly with spots and the scars that remain after. It really works wonders and isn’t a harsh treatment on your skin at all. I love using this and I have noticed that my outbreaks never last as long as they used to. I have written a full review on this product here if you want to find out a little more.

Exfolatior: Garnier Fresh Radiance Boosting Scrub see here

I use an exfoliator 2-3 times a week in the shower and to be honest that is enough for me. For years I have stuck near enough with the same exfoliator and this year I decided to mix it up a little. I much prefer an intensive exfoliant, I like to know it’s doing something to my skin and I use the products like a treatment to my face. To be honest I’m not the biggest fan of this one, the citrus smell is lovely but I don’t think it does much else for me. The person I am I don’t like to waste anything so because it’s not making my skin any worse I’ll use it up. Has anyone else tried this before?

Face Wash: Soap & Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash see here

Another product I have just started to mix up recently, again I don’t use this everyday I use it mainly in conjunction with my exfoliator. I’m actually really enjoying this, it also has little beads in so for me it’s like round two of exfoliation but not anywhere as near as harsh. This does the job, for me face washes are pretty standard products but there is something about this product that I just really like. I know you are meant to use a face wash daily but seriously I cleanse etc. I don’t have hours to complete a skincare routine!

Toner: Garnier Pure Active Sensitive Anti-Blemish Clarifying Tonic see here

Last but by no means least, my current toner. Now again I don’t use this daily and I would say I use it in conjunction on the days I exfoliate just because I want to ensure my skin is as clean as possible and has a little bit of a treatment rather than just removing makeup. I don’t believe in long skincare routine’s daily as surely your skin just gets used to it and the products just become null and void. Along with not having the time to do it every evening, this just works. I absolutely love this toner, mainly because it is so different to any toner I have used and instantly cools my skin. I have reviewed this here and would recommend you checking it out if you are on the hunt for a new toner.

& that’s my skincare routine. Although it seems like quite a few products I don’t use them all at the same time, I break it up. I’m sure some people will say I am missing out on key products like serums and eye creams but this is what works for me and my skin is happy the majority of the time. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are of them.

Boots & TK Maxx Haul

Hello my lovelies,

So this was meant to be a shopping trip where I just pick up the essentials.. I don’t think many of this is essentials but I couldn’t help myself and who doesn’t love a haul!? There is nothing better when I have an hour or two to have a browse up and down the aisles of Boots and TK Maxx they are both amazing for getting some offers and I can never turn down a bargain!

Maybelline – Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation see here (Boots)

So although this isn’t a new launch by Maybelline there seems to be a lot of talk about it recently and I thought what the heck lets give it a go. I’m all up for anything that is mattifying and will reduce the look of my pores. At the moment I don’t have many drug store favourite foundations, I just don’t seem to enjoy them much as others in my collection. I am hoping this will change things for me. I’m sure I will report back!

L’Oreal – Hydra Genius Moisturiser see here (Boots)

This is a repurchase for me because I love it so much, I really enjoyed this so much so when I saw it in Boots I couldn’t not pick it up. It’s unlike anything I have tried before and will be perfect for the warmer months because it is such a light moisturiser. I have actually reviewed this here for a bit more information. But trust me is blooming lovely!

Garnier – Pure Active Daily Exfoliating Scrub see here (Boots)

Another repurchase, this is my favourite EVER exfoliator. I am in love with this and I feel like this really makes a difference to my skin when I use this. It is a little intensive and tingles on the skin so it may not work for sensitive skin but for me it works wonders. I really feel like after I use this I notice a difference. Especially when I have a breakout this baby is here for me.  Seriously if you are on the hunt for a new exfoliator I would recommend this one.

Botanics – Softening Cleanser see here

I have really been trying to get into Botanics, I have a cleanser from them and I really enjoy it so I thought why not try another cleanser. I was on the hunt for a new one because for whatever reason I seem to be sticking to the same one. I am hoping this will break the rut I am in. I’m hoping I will love it as much as the product I already have. I’m sure I will report back on what I think.

Biovene – Black Peel-Off Mask see here (TK Maxx)

I have wanted to try these peel off masks for the longest time but never got round to buying one. When I was in TK Maxx and this was £2.99 I decided now was the time to see whether it works or actually you go through the pain for no reason. I also want to put this on my boyfriend so see his reaction – aren’t I lovely!? It just seems so satisfying seeing all the rubbish being removed and you can visually see it. Anyway I shall let you know!

Garnier – Pure Active 3 in 1 Clay Mask Scrub see here (Boots)

Another Garnier product, I just love their skincare. This product just made me quite curious a mask and a scrub!? I thought as I fell in love with their exfoliator in the same range why not give this a go. I mean if I don’t like it it’s not the end of the world. This was actually on buy one get one half price so it would be rude not to right? I shall let you know how I get on with this when I figure out where it will fit into my skincare routine. If anyone has tried this I’d love to know how/when you use it and whether it worked for you.

Nip + Fab – Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads see here (TK MAXX)

So these actually caught my eye because I knew my sister was on the hunt to get these at a good price and when I saw them for £3.99 I was like hello I’m getting me some of them too! I have been loving the Nip and Fab products that I have tried and so many people have raved about them but I wasn’t prepared the near £14 price tag. I hope I love them as much as others do and my sister was a very happy bunny when I told them I picked them up for her.

That’s all folks, I hope you have enjoyed reading my recent purchases. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are of them.

Disappointing Products #2

Hello my lovelies,

So oddly enough I don’t write these posts very often which is actually rather nice. When I buy a product I try my hardest to make it work for me. Most of the time I find a way and sometimes I fall in love with the way I use it, other times I think it’s ok and I will use it until it’s finished. I’m just not a lover of wasting products. However, there are the rare occasions where I just can’t use them and I just think enough is enough I have to accept it’s not to my liking. We can’t love everything in the world and I thought I would share this with you. If you would like to see my last Disappointing Products see here

Topshop – Lipstick in Culture see here

So it’s not very often I find a lipstick I don’t like. I like a varied amount of lipsticks and I always find ways or occasions to make it work. Topshop Beauty is a brand I don’t venture into very often, I just hear such mixed reviews and to be honest I’m not 100% convinced. I gave this lipstick a chance when I found it in TK MAXX. I fell in love with the colour and I wanted to do my best to make it work.

However it just doesn’t work for me. I do prefer a matte lipstick but I don’t mind a more gloss finish if the product is good. Every time I use this I put a lip liner on underneath which I do for near enough all my lipsticks to ensure it lasts for as long a possible but even with a lip liner it just went so quickly. Don’t get me wrong the pigmentation is really impressive and I love the colour but it doesn’t stay on very long. It slips and slides all over the place and I have been embarrassed on a number of occasions with it being all round my face. I just can’t make it work, I’m sure people love this formula and if someone can give me tips of how I can stop this from moving everything it would be appreciated.

Ted Baker – Mascara in Black

I unfortunately can’t find a link for this but I received this in a Ted Baker beauty set at Christmas time. I was really looking forward to trying the products and I had high hopes. Some of the products like the blusher I have completely fallen in love with. However, I tried this mascara and it did nothing to my lashes. I applied countless coats of this and still nothing. I mean I’m not sure who would like this because it’s pretty pointless. The brush just doesn’t seem to pick up the product, I just can’t use it. I’m gutted because it looks so pretty and I love Ted Baker as a brand but looks really can be deceiving..

Rimmel London – Sculpting Palette see here

Now, this may come as a shock to some because I know a lot of people really enjoy using this product but I just think it’s pants. It’s a something of nothing product for me that doesn’t seem to give off barely any pigmentation. I don’t know whether I have a dud one but I have given up with this. It looks lovely and I had such high hopes for this and it has completely disappointed me. I have actually written a full review of this post here. Is there anyone else out there that has the same opinion as me surely I can’t be the only one?

Revolution – Liquid Lipstick in Glory see here

Another lip product I know, before I start I adore Revolution as a brand and think the quality is incredible for the price. However, I was well and truly disappointed with this one. I am a massive lover of liquid lipsticks and from Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kit other brands like Revolution jumped on board. I love the colour, I mean I’m a massive brown toned fan especially for winter time and I was really looking forward to rocking this. Yet, when I applied this I just knew it wasn’t for me. The product felt really sticky and really hard to move around the lips, it felt heavy and wasn’t very comfortable. I obviously persevered with this and let it dry which may I add took quite some time. It felt awful on the lips and every time I moved my mouth I could just feel it there.

It then just started to just crumble away and it look awful after a couple of hours on from application. The remains of this just stained my lips and was a complete bugger to get off. I mean how do I make this work? The formula for me was just way off and I refuse to use it any more. I’m a bit gutted because it’s the first product from Revolution that I just haven’t got on with.

Zoeva – Luxe Petit Crease Brush, 231

Now, I love Zoeva brushes. They are one of my most favourite brands for them and I have a lot of them in my collection. However, I just can’t seem to get on with this brush. I love the shape of it to get into the crease especially for the darker shades and it feels so soft but actually it just really hurts my eye. It’s just so harsh and I’m not that heavy handed but it doesn’t really apply my eyeshadow that great. It’s really annoying because the shape is just perfect, but I just can’t keep going through the pain. I have tried it countless times, using it for different things and every time I’m left with a red eye and disappointed. I think it’s time to say goodbye to this brush sadly.

Ted Baker – Eyelash Curler

Again, I’m sorry I can’t find a link for these. I know it’s another Ted Baker product, I’m sorry. Now I don’t use an eyelash curler every day mainly because I forget but I love the results it gives me. The whole point of an eyelash curler is to curl your lashes right? Well this just does absolutely nothing. I didn’t think you can go wrong with one of these but oh my I was wrong. I’m better off not going through the faff and just apply mascara. It’s annoying because it looks really pretty but it’s a no from me. Seriously what’s the point of it if it doesn’t curl your lashes?

Sleek – Full Fat Lash Mascara see here

So anything that claims to give me a lot of volume I’m all for. I actually got this in a set and I was really looking forward to trying this. I have never tried a sleek mascara before and most of the products I had used before from Sleek I enjoy. I really didn’t get on with this, I didn’t get much volume from this at all. In fact it coated my lashes and that was about it, didn’t lengthen – nothing. When I did wear it, it just flaked off throughout the day and created the lovely panda look. Seriously not about that life.

I just get frustrated when a mascara claims to be volumising and does near enough nothing I mean who tests this out? I don’t have oily lashes and I don’t have issues with other mascaras. Mascara’s can work on different people so I hope it’s not a complete write off but it just doesn’t work for me and I was left very disappointed.

That’s all folks, I’m glad I don’t do these posts very often but I think it’s worth letting you know the products that aren’t so great for me. Let me know if you have tried any of these products I have mentioned and how they have worked out for you.

March/ April Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

So I don’t like missing these posts and unfortunately I had to miss out my March favourites due to illness. My blog pretty much has gone on hold for around a month, I was gutted and I still am to be honest. I adore my blog and not being able to do something you love is pretty heart breaking. I have had an awful start to the year and this time it was down to flu. Yes the actual flu, hospital the lot. Yay me. It has been awful and I am still recovering. It has been a long road and although I am still undergoing tests etc. I am hoping I am on the mend! So I thought I would combine March and April although it’s mainly been April I have been enjoying these products.

The Balm – Frat Boy Blush see here

You may have seen this before on my blog, it is a complete favourite for me especially in the Spring/Summer months. It has just the right amount of pigment and gives me the perfect pink tone on my cheeks which looks so natural. I have been wearing this non-stop when I have worn makeup recently it’s just perfect. It is a little pricey and actually I forgot how much it was but for me it’s well worth the investment. I have included this in my Top 3 – Blushers post so if you want to know more about it then click onto the link.

BECCA – Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal see here

I just want to add this is a travel size version that I have don’t worry if your thinking wow that’s small. I absolutely adore this highlighter for me it’s the perfect golden highlighter and the glow you get from this is crazy. The pigmentation is really quite impressive and to be honest I just want all the BECCA shimmering skin perfectors they are well worth the money if you are into your highlighters. I honestly think this is my all time favourite highlighter I just adore it.

Charlotte Tilbury – Hollywood Flawless Filter see here

This is a pretty new edition to my collection and if I am honest when I first got it I was tempted to send it back. I just wasn’t sure if I would get the use. Now I did a little bit of research on how people use it etc. and actually I have found a slightly different way to apply this. On the website it advises that you can wear this as a primer, highlighter or mix it in with your foundation. Now, I have oily skin so to have a really glowy primer or foundation would look awful and I’m really not a fan on liquid highlighter.

So, I prime my skin with a different primer, usually oil control and then I pop this on to the points of my face where I would usually highlight. I then do the rest of my face and it makes the world of difference. I love highlighter so to already have that glow come through is amazing. It looks absolutely beautiful on the skin. It’s a really lovely product and I use it so often especially as in the UK we are finally getting some spring weather. This is also perfect for those little/no make up days when you just need a little pick me up so you don’t look awful – massive savior!

Benefit – Ka-Brow in Number 4 see here

I LOVE this eyebrow product, but I go through phases of wearing this everyday to not at all. At the moment it’s the only thing I am using on my brows, I just forget how damn good Benefit are for brow products. I don’t use the brush that it comes with, I prefer a longer brush handle but the brush itself is pretty impressive. I could sit and rave about this product forever but I won’t – if you want to find out more why I love this product see this post here to understand why it makes it to my top 3 all time favourite brow products.

Estee Lauder – Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation see here

So for me, I have had this in my collection for a while. Before you say anything I am a genius who put a pump on it because I’m not about that pouring life! I was happy when I brought it but I just thought I can’t wear this every day, it’s just too heavy. I didn’t want to give it up because it is great for those events or nights out where you need a full coverage foundation that will last for ages. Recently I was sorting through my make up and deciding whether to throw this out and I thought, there must be a way I can make this work.

Hey presto I have found it! I always applied this with a brush and I tried this with a beauty blender and it was life changer. I have head over heels fallen in love with this foundation. It is the perfect amount of coverage and lasts all day. It’s amazing at oil control, to be honest it’s everything I wanted it to be in the first place. My love for this foundation is well and truly in full swing, thank god for beauty blenders!

Laura Mercier – Foundation Primer see here

Now, I think most people in the beauty world have heard about this primer. This what really started the whole primer thing for me and now I can’t apply foundation without having a primer on underneath. I have a lot to thank this primer for to be honest, however with the whole primer craze getting bigger and bigger every year like my collection I began to forget about this. This month again after my sort out I thought do you know what I need to use this again. It’s a good job I did because I fell in love with it all over again. It’s just amazing and if you haven’t tried it before then you totally need to!

Huda Beauty – Liquid Matte Lipstick in Trendsetter see here

If you have read my Huda Beauty Liquid Matte review then you know I love these, see here if you haven’t. They are one of THE best brands for liquid lipsticks, the formula is just amazing. This colour Trendsetter has been pretty much the only thing that has been on my lips recently. I just adore the colour it’s the perfect brown tone that isn’t crazy dark. This is only the mini version as I received this in a set but my oh my when this runs out I will be buying the full size. If your into your liquid lipsticks then this little baby is for you!

Let me know if you have tried any of these products & what your thoughts are on them!

How I Edit My Photos

Hello my lovelies,

So this is a slightly different post than usual I know, but actually it’s been requested along with people always commenting on my photography so I thought I would share with you the process I use. Don’t worry guys it’s super cheap and actually takes no time at all. I don’t spend a lot of time on my photos, mainly because I’m not creative in the slightest. I have really pushed myself with the whole blogging and actually it has taught me a lot. But, also when you read these types of posts they have crazy lighting and backdrops etc. Seriously I don’t have the time to set it all up or the want to spend my money on all the equipment – of course this is a personal preference.

When I started blogging, for me the words came naturally as soon as I choose a topic I could write for ages. It’s the photos that really stump me and why it takes so long to put up. Now, this isn’t down to the editing it’s literally down to inspiration and creativity. It’s just not me and although I follow some amazing blogs & their Instagram’s for inspiration the photos I take never really wow me. Maybe I’m just very harsh on myself as many people love my photo’s but I’m never that happy.

One thing that has made me happy is to realise that actually to have pretty pictures you don’t need the latest camera or all the fancy lights and backdrops for your pictures to look amazing. It’s something I have always thought about but actually I want to spend my money on make up and skincare because I’m a shopaholic, I know I have no shame.

I have always used my iPhone 6s to take my pictures, if you see the pictures below you’ll see how they come out without editing. They aren’t bad and actually I’m pretty happy with it. People worry that they aren’t good enough for blogging or Instagram because they don’t have a really expensive camera with a fancy lens – to start off with you really don’t need it!

Now you may think, hmm that’s quite bright and not natural lighting – no it’s not I have two tricks up my sleeve. One is that in my blogging room, my lovely Dad actually put in white LED spot lights in the room. They are bright and I don’t sit with them on very often but actually they are a massive life saver especially in the winter months.

The other is a handy little gadget which is a ring light that clips onto your phone. I believe these have been around for a while but it’s not something I have ever really thought of buying to be honest. I never thought I would get the use out of it although I thought they would be handy when you want to take a picture and it’s dark.

I was very kindly sent one of these gadgets by Radiance Ring and was asked to try it out, realistically I thought yeah this would be handy for nights out. Not blogging I know but you know when your out with your friends and you get awful pictures because of the light – yup whip this out and you’re all good. However, I thought that it was worth a try to see what impact it would have on my photos.

I can notice such a difference, below is the picture of the ring itself with just my phone and my LED spot lights. Not bad right? BUT the picture above has just the ring light.. Personally I love them both, mainly because they give slightly different effects – not bad though from a tiny little light.

The ring light is SO simple to use, literally clip it onto your phone press the button and the light comes on. I was worried that it would block one of the cameras on my phone but it doesn’t. The ring light has three different levels of lighting depending on what you are looking for, see below the 3 pictures..

My other concern is that I thought it was going to be heavy and weigh my phone down but it’s really light and its pretty durable. I actually took this on a night out to give it a little test and actually I was really impressed. I shoved it in my bag and whipped it out when I needed it to. Everyone was actually really impressed by how the pictures turned out. The picture below is me and my sister on her 21st birthday with the only light in the room being disco lights. Now it’s no professional picture but I can only imagine how awful it would look without it.

Once I have taken the picture I do edit it. Now, I don’t mean sorting out my eyes or whitening certain areas really it’s just a filter. I use VSCO on my phone, it’s a free app to download and I know a lot of bloggers use this. I literally put every photo through the same motion which is to put the T1/Moody filter on the photo to +12 and I’m good to go. All my photos then look like the photo at the start of this post. Simple right?

It takes me all of two seconds to edit and I’m happy with that. People may be shocked or think I’m not a great blogger but this is just me & I wanted to share just how easy it is to achieve semi-decent pictures.

The only thing to purchase is the ring light, which actually I highly recommend. It’s a good little investment and is something that just isn’t limited to blog photos. Seriously I hate waking up after a night out and realising I don’t have a good photo and they are all pitch black. Not no more, hello beautiful photos!
