June Favourites

Hello my lovelies.

How are we into the second half of this year already!? I cannot quite comprehend how quickly this year is going. It’s all go go in my life at the moment which is crazy overwhelming and stressful but I’m hoping it will all be worth it in the end! I started the month by bottomless brunching to seeing the Spice Girls (which side note was the BEST evening) I then was ill for a week and my sister was then admitted to hospital. So it’s been a tale of two halves and I will say it ended on a high by soaking up the glorious sun shine.

July for me is a crazy old month with birthdays left right and centre and I am hoping by the end of this month something very exciting will be happening – all will be revealed soon I hope! With me being here there and everywhere I have just really been using the same sort of products just because I know what I will get out of them. However, I have pushed myself a little and this is what has made it to this post!

L’Oreal – Smooth Sugars Clear Scrub see here

So I will be honest and say I have had this in my collection for some while before I decided that I was going to give this a go. I don’t know why I just wasn’t sure how my skin was going to react to a sugar scrub and to be honest I don’t know why I worried. It’s a lovely product which I adore using. The fresh, sweet smell of this is just so inviting and my skin seems to just love this. Since using this on a regular basis I have really noticed such a difference and my pores and uneven texture has massively improved. £9.99 seems pretty pricey for a sugar scrub though – is that just me, I feel like L’Oreal are putting there prices up recently! Let me know of any good sugar scrubs you have tried as I really want to try a few more!

Lacura – Healthy Glow Exfoliating Toner

Unfortunately I can’t find a link to this online – basically you can purchase this from Aldi, the supermarket. I believe this is a brand that is exclusive to Aldi which has taken the beauty world by storm with it’s dupes. Now, we all know this is a complete dupe for Pixi’s Glow Tonic BUT for a fraction of the price. I want to say this cost me around £3 and it’s the best £3 I have spent in a long time. This again like the scrub has really aided in helping me combat my uneven texture and I can’t tell you the confidence it has given me. This is an amazing product and I highly recommend you keeping an eye out for this when you are next walking down the middle aisles of Aldi!

Code Beautiful – Soft Smoothing Lip Liner see here

What a lip liner. This isn’t just your average liner. I think I am going to go as far and say this beats my beloved Rimmel Lip Liner. So, basically this is a cream/crayon lip liner which I will say is my personal preference – it just goes on a lot easier to the lips. The pigmentation of this is extremely impressive and I often just wear this on it’s own and it lasts all day. But what is it’s USP is that it’s self sharpening – yes you heard that right. Every time you unscrew the lid it’s perfectly sharpened ready to go. I know – game changing! I have actually written a review of this here which I highly recommend you check out.

Revolution – Conceal and Define Foundation see here AND Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer see here

So you are probably thinking, why have you put these two together? Well I use them together to create a blooming long lasting, shine proof base that just looks fab. Separately they are great but when together they are just unstoppable. I have always been against combining two foundations, to me it just seemed so heavy and I’m all up for my make up being as light as possible. Coming into the warmer months my Revolution foundation was getting a tad light so rather than just leaving it in my collection and buying the shade darker I just decided to combine it with another foundation in my collection that was darker – smart right?

It has changed my foundation game completely and to be honest I can’t stop using them together. I now do have a slightly darker shade because my F2 ran out but I still use it with this. I just love the finish it gives and it feels so weightless on the skin! I have actually reviewed these separately here (Revolution) and here (Clinique) so if you want to find out about them a little more by all means check this out. My words are wisdom are just experiment with make up – what’s the worst that can happen?

NYX – Super Skinny Marker in Carbon Black see here

For a long time I was getting fed up with eyeliner. It just never seemed black enough and the longevity of the products just wasn’t good enough in my eyes. For a couple of months I went without wearing eyeliner and I just felt so naked and looks felt incomplete so I went hunting in my collection for an eyeliner and here was this one. I honestly think this is the best one to walk into my life in a long time. It’s easy to use, super black and long wearing – what more could you want!? For me this beats my beloved Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and Soap and Glory’s Supercat liner hands down!

Jo Malone – White Moss & Snowdrop Cologne

So, from the name and if you are an avid Jo Malone follower then you would know that this is one of the brands limited edition Christmas scents. Yes, I know a winter fragrance in these hot months – you heard me right. This is so light and is the perfect scent for all year round. I’m a firm believer of if you like something wear it. Doesn’t matter what time of year it is, if you feel comfortable that is all that matters. I wish that you could smell this because I cannot describe scents. All I will say is, it’s a fairly sweet earthy smell. Yup – told you I was rubbish but if you can smell it somehow I would highly recommend.

That’s all folks! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them. Also, I hope you have a fabulous month ahead!
