Empties #23

Hello my lovelies,

Here I am again with another Empties post. I feel like it was a hot minute since I last wrote once of these posts – I seem to go through phases of finishing things all at once and then none at all. I have really been trying to use up what I have open recently rather than open yet another product and it seems to be really helping getting through the drags of some products that I have been lingering in my collection for some while.

Benefit – Precisely My Brow Pencil see here

Do I really need to talk about this one? It’s my favoruite brow pencil EVER. It’s a bold statement but I promise you it really is. I know if you are looking for a brow pencil most people will say Anastasia Beverley Hill’s Brow Whiz and if you read my comparison between the two here then I just think this one is marginally better and it’s cheaper. I use it everyday and although I’m no brow expert I think they are not bad and to be honest I have tried other products and nothing else stacks up to this baby. It’s worth the investment I can’t tell you how many of these I have been through – a fair few I must say!

Too Faced – Hangover Primer see here

There is a lot of hype around this product and I couldn’t tell you how pleased I was when this finally was in my collection. Was I impressed? Not really. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s a great product and I’m sure if you had dry skin this will be great but I didn’t think it was anything ground breaking. I’m not a massive lover of coconut smelling products and I was willing to see past it but I think I was just expecting more. Because yes it’s a great base for foundation but it wasn’t a ground breaking product I fell in love with. Will I pick it up again? Probably not I think sometimes I’m just glad I have tried a hyped product I enjoyed it but I know I have primers in my collection that I prefer a lot more.

Liz Earle – Instant Boost Skin Tonic see here

I have had this in my collection waaay longer than I should have and there is a few reasons for that. I’m not the best at remembering to apply toner every evening, it’s a step in my skincare routine that I often skip when I am in a hurry – I know lazy! I also just don’t know what this has really done for my skin apart from make it feel smooth. When I have bad break outs I use this to soothe the skin but acting as an actual toner I’m not convinced. This breaks my heart when I say I don’t love a Liz Earle product because I love so many of them but you can’t love them all right? On this occasion I don’t think I will be repurchasing this any time soon.

Nivea – MicellAIR see here

This is a very average product to me. I didn’t dislike it but I just don’t think it’s for me. The oil within this product didn’t work for me the way I like to use a micellar water. I felt like I had to use a fair amount of product to be able to swipe it all over my face. Although it did the job I just don’t feel as though it competes with Garnier’s Micellar Water, which if you don’t know is my holy grail. I have actually written a comparison about them here again this won’t be joining my repurchase list but I’m glad I actually took the plunge and tried something different.

Superdrug – Protecting Heat Spray see here

I’m not a great lover of spending a lot of money on hair-care products I don’t know why it just doesn’t really interest me. For a long time I very rarely used heat on my hair so when I did – I was happy to choose a fairly cheap product. I picked this up a very long time ago just so I could put something in my hair to protect it. I massively regret not spending a little more because this isn’t great. It left my hair feeling very sticky and wet for a long time and to be honest I don’t think it even did much. For me, this a massively disappointing product. You will be pleased to know I am now using a Lee Stafford heat protector and it’s brilliant!

Soap & Glory  – Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk see here

This is a wonderful cleanser. If you have never tried Soap and Glory skincare before I urge you to because their ranges are incredible and so affordable. For me, this is one of their standout products which I keep coming back to. It easily removes my make up and leaves my skin feeling and looking amazing – what more could you want? I love that it comes with a pump as it’s a lot easier to use, however it is a bugger as I know there is a fair amount of product left but I just can’t get to it. I am sure I will be picking this little gem up in the future – I just have a lot of cleansers in my collection first to get through! If you want to read a little more about this product I have written a review all about it here

Primark – Pink Clay Pore Refining Facial Mask

I picked this up fairly recently as every time I am in Primark I am always impressed by their face mask range and all so affordable. I was interested in trying a pink clay mask and that’s exactly what I did. I think I brought this for about 90p which is not bad in my opinion. If I am honest there is a fair amount of product in the packet and if I thought about it I could of got two uses out of this but at night my brain just doesn’t work like that. Anyway, onto the product itself.. it’s got a fairly strong scent which is floral based which I’m not used to when it comes to a mask and to be honest I thought masks were all about relaxing but this energized my nose! It is a very runny consistency and not really like clay at all but once applied it very much feels like a clay mask.

One thing I wasn’t expecting was the tingling of my skin whilst the mask was on. I didn’t seem to have an allergic reaction nor have red skin after so I’m not sure if this was how the mask is but it’s not for me – I just couldn’t relax at all. It also was a bugger to remove and I felt like I took longer removing the mask than it actually being on my face. So for me, this wasn’t a winner but as least I can say I have tried it.

Original Source – Lime Shower Gel see here

Original Source for me, are the best brand when it comes to affordable shower gels. They clean my body and the smells are just incredible. I have tried a few from the range and by far lime is my favourite – I’m a massive lover of zingy, fruity scents and this really hits the nail on the head. It’s amazing and I have really enjoyed using this. I’m sure when I am next in the drugstore I will be picking this up again to stock up on.

Batiste – Dry Shampoo in Cherry see here

Do I really need to express any more love on the product? Because I adore it. For me it’s the best dry shampoo on the market and does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s great for in between washes and gives me a little volume which is exactly what my fine hair needs. I will continue to by this until it is no more. I just love it ok?

Garnier – Pure Active 3 in 1 Clay see here

What an exfoliator. I think this is my all time favourite exfoliator. I will warn you it probably isn’t best for sensitive skin as it’s quite intense but I have fairly thick skin and it works wonders on my oily, spot prone, uneven skin. I use this around 2 times a week and I think that’s more than enough. I feel like I have a new layer of skin every time I use this – it’s so damn soft and I instantly notice a different in the way my skin looks. I highly recommend trying this out if you are on the hunt for a new exfoliator – it’s also so damn affordable!

Gold star to you if you have managed to reach the end of this post – it was a long one! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them.
