Empties #22

Hello my lovelies,

Another month has come and gone and I have only just managed to scrape together enough products for an Empties post. Last year I was going through products like there was no tomorrow and this year is just a major struggle – who knows how or why! I am going through a stage where I am *trying* to save money so I am using everything I own before I start buying more, I mean I’m not sure how long I can do this before but I just want to use products that are half used up and start fresh!

L’Oreal – Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Conditioner – see here

I thought a good way to start a post like this is to start with a firm favourite. This really is my most favourite hair care range and it has done wonders for my hair. My roots are most definitely less oily and my ends have improved with regards to hydration, although now I’m using more heat on my hair I’m not sure how good my ends will feel but for the time being this little baby is keeping dry ends away. If you suffer with oily roots but dry ends I highly recommend this. I have written a full review here if you want to read a little more about the range.

Tesco – Double Faced Large Oval Cotton Wool Pads see here

I think this is the first time in years that I have used anything other than the Primark Cotton Wool Pads, I mean it’s still a shock to me. I will say I didn’t buy these, they were in my stocking at Christmas and I thought I might as well use them. To be honest these weren’t bad at all. They were pretty much the same size as the ones I usually use and didn’t fall apart so I know if I can’t get to my local Primark I can pick these up but value for money wise there is just no competition Primark still wins at 90p a pack!

Lush – Snow Fairy Shower Gel

As you know I can’t link this as Lush only sell this at Christmas time. I still have a few more bottles of this that I am getting through and I am trying to use others in between and slowly my shower gel collection is getting smaller which is amazing because by the time November comes round I can stock up on Snow Fairy! For me, this is the best shower gel I have ever used. The smell is insane, it lasts on the body for a very long time and fills your bathroom too! It’s a little pricey but for me it’s well worth the investment.

Liz Earle – Cleanse & Polish see here

What a cleanser. This has been in my life for some while now and for me I am currently obsessed. With my skin being all over the place, to have a cleanser that isn’t going to cause any irritation and soothes is exactly what you need when you come to take your make up off. I go through phases of loving this and currently I am obsessed. I didn’t realise I was coming to the end of this and I need to pop to my local Boots to pick another up as I can’t be without it for too long. This is a staple cleanser in my collection and is always a product I keep running back to.

Garnier – Pure Charcoal Black Tissue Mask see here

Garnier for me is a brand that never lets me down when it comes to skincare. When I saw this I thought that this had my name written all over it. Purifying, hydrating and mattifying. Also, I’m loving trying charcoal in my skincare and this just felt like the perfect opportunity. Although I used this, it was just a fairly average sheet mask to me. It felt nice at the time but for me it didn’t make any changes to my skin. A little disappointed but it was nice to try.

Batiste – Dry Shampoo and Conditioner see here

I had high hopes for this product and to be honest it was awful. I used it up but ultimately it did nothing to my hair if not make it worse. My hair just looked flat, greasy and just all round just awful. If this worked the way it should it would be an amazing product but it really doesn’t. The only thing this has going for it is the smell. It’s a lovely fresh fruity scent which I really love. I adore the original dry shampoos from Batiste and I have immediately gone back to them I just cant believe how poor this product is. Sometimes it’s good to stick to what you know!

Fenty Beauty – Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer see here

This is the first Fenty Beauty product I have tried and I was really looking forward to trying this out as so many people rate the whole brand very highly. However, I didn’t find this a ground breaking product. I certainly don’t think I would I would pay £24 for a full bottle. I just didn’t feel as though my make up went on any better with this in comparison to other, more affordable primers in my collection. Although this wasn’t a bad product it doesn’t make me want to try other products from Fenty in a hurry..

Nip + Fab – Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads – see here

What a product! I have well and truly fallen in love with this product and I have already repurchased them because I couldn’t be without them in my collection. They are just able to get deep within my skin to help with the texture that has magically appeared over the last few months. I always pick these up when they are on offer and to be honest it works out to be such an affordable product. I mentioned these in my Top 10 Beauty Products of 2018 and to be honest they are still a firm favourite in 2019.

Aussie – Conditioning Spray, Miracle Moist – see here

I think this has got to be one of my favourite products I use on my hair. I have fine hair, but a lot of it so it gets tangled very quickly so after a hair wash to even attempt to brush it I need a conditioning spray. This, with ease after a few spritz allows my tangle teaser to go through my hair with no knots. It also gives my hair that little bit more hydration which is always needed when it comes to my ends. If you are in need of a conditioning spray/detanlger then I highly recommend this one!

Benefit – Precisely, My Brow Pencil see here

What a brow product. This a product that I just simply just can’t go without. I use this every day without fail and it never lets me down. I find this so easy to use and the shade range just works for me. I have gone lighter with my hair so I am currently using shade 3, but personally I think there is a shade for everyone in this range. I can’t tell you how many of these pencils I have gone through and I know I will continue to repurchase for the foreseeable future. For me I believe this is better than Anastasia Beverley Hills’ – Brow Whiz. I have done a comparison here – for me this one will always win hands down.

Congratulations if you have made it to the end. Personally I feel cleansed when these posts have been written, the products can go in the bin and I can start a fresh! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are of them.
