Empties #21

Hello my lovelies,

I have seemed to go well over a month without posting a Empties post.. what is happening!? I seemed to of slowed down finishing products up which in a way is frustrating because there is nothing better than finishing a product up because then you can start a brand new one and it is so blooming satisfying! I actually have a few make up products in here which always shocks me because they just seem to last for the longest time!

L’Oreal – Elvive Extraordinary Clay Re-Balancing Shampoo see here

I know – I have used yet another bottle of this stuff up. I just can’t seem to get enough of it. I am obsessed. I literally have another two bottles waiting to be used of this, I seem to panic buy it in case one day it’s discontinued and I can’t get hold of it anymore (please say I’m not the only one that does this when it comes to certain products!). If you struggle with oily roots but dry ends you really do need to try this out – it really has changed my hair and over time it’s really improved the look and feel of my hair. I have written a full review of this range here if you want to read a little more about them.

Batiste – Dry Shampoo in Cherry see here

Now, we all know I am obsessed with stuff and actually it’s scary how quickly I get though a bottle. I just can’t be without them. With my hair being oily this really is my best friend and I am forever spritzing away. I know there are a ridiculous amount of scents in the range but this one works for me and I am a creature of habit – stick to what you know right? Seriously though if you haven’t tried Batiste’s dry shampoo then you really should, extremely affordable and just a blooming good product.

Tony Moly – I’m Real Skin Purifying Sheet Mask see here

So I normally pick these up from TK MAXX, they are a lot cheaper – so a little tip go hunt them down because they do so many of them in the range. I have had this sitting in my collection for some time and everyone seems to adore sheet masks that I thought I would give them a go again. I’ll be honest, sheet masks just aren’t that great for me. I don’t find massive benefits to them and my skin never really is impressed by them.

I had this mask on for around 20 minutes and although I didn’t feel as though it did anything when I used a cotton wool pad to remove the excess moisture from my skin I was so shocked to see the gunk that was removed from my skin and I’ll be honest – my skin felt amazing the next day. I really want to pick some more of these ones up now as my skin just adored them. This has really changed my perception on sheet masks and now I want to try them all so send me your recommendations of your favourite sheet masks!

Clarins – Hydra Essentiel Gel Sorbet see here

I was kindly given this in a goody bag when I went for a skincare consultation with them and to be honest I’d never tried Clarins products before. I was so excited to get using them and the lovely woman who talked me through the products just made them all sounds life changing. However, this wasn’t one of them. For me, this was not a gel. in fact this was more of a silicone based moisturiser, which I’d be honest and say is not my cup of tea. It didn’t seem to do anything for my skin and certainly didn’t moisturise and hydrate. This is a definite no from me.. luckily it was only travel size and although it was gifted I still feel grateful that I didn’t have the full size as I have no idea what I would of done with it.

Garnier – Micellar Water see here

So we must all know by now how much I adore this product. I simply cannot be without it. I use it at least once a day without fail and honestly it’s like my comfort blanket when it comes to skincare. I know exactly what it’s going to do for me and it’s never let me down. Personally don’t waste your money on expensive micellar waters, head down to your local drugstore and pick one of these little babies up – trust me you won’t be disappointed.

Simple – Cleansing Oil see here

What a great product. For me, a couple of years ago anything oil based I would run away from as I do have oily skin. But trust me, don’t be scared. Products that contain oils are needed, whether you have oily skin or not a top up of ‘good’ oils is needed which is what products like this contain. I have absolutely loved using this product and for a drug store cleanser it’s one of the best I have tried. I have written a full review on this little baby here. Honestly though, if you are wanting to try a new oil cleanser or wanting to dip your toe in the water to see what they are all about they is a great place to start.

Clarins – Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm see here

Another cleanser – I’ve been on a massive purge to try and use up some cleansers as I have a fair few new ones to try but I don’t want to open them until I have my collection down a little. I can honestly say hand on heart that this is one of the best cleansers I have ever tried. It’s beautiful. The texture, the formulation and obviously the way it cleanses the face is incredible. My skin always feels so hydrated and squeaky clean after using this. Again, with this being a balm it’s oil based and I think personally they are my favourite type of cleansers to use. I seriously am missing this in my collection but I am trying to wait for a few more to be used up before I repurchase. If you have been eyeing this up for a while like me then honestly – take the plunge I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

Sleek – Brow Kit in Light see here

So yes it may not look empty to you, but I have never used the powder in these kits they just don’t work for me. I have always stuck to the wax side which I used to really enjoy using. In the past year or so I now only use eyebrow pencils (Benefit’s Precisely My Brow Pencil) and less and less have I used anything else. It just doesn’t seem to give me the look I’m after anymore. I much prefer a bold but natural brow and I feel as though this struggles to give a natural look to my brows, it’s fairly harsh and looking back I don’t know how I thought this was acceptable.

Rimmel – Wake Me Up Foundation see here

Years ago, when this was first released I was obsessed. I used to get compliments all the time of how wonderful my skin looked and this was obviously a massive confidence boost. Over the past few years, as my complexion has changed and I now battle with excess oil this just doesn’t work. Even though I know it won’t work for me because of the glitter particles and the whole glowy vibe I just still want to use it, like a trip down memory lane I suppose. I have finally got to the point in life where I am going to throw it away.. I actually have two bottle of this which are going in the bin. If you have normal to try skin – this foundation is life changing. However, people with oily skin – stay away at all costs!

Estee Lauder – Double Wear Foundation see here

From the wake me up foundation to double wear.. two opposite ends of the foundation spectrum. This is really as matte as you can go when it comes to foundation and I LOVE it. For every day wear, personally this is a little too much for me but if I know I need a full proof base that won’t let me down – this is the one. It’s very easy to go over board with this foundation and to look cakey – the trick is less is more! You can always build it up but it’s a lot harder to remove. I already had another one ready and waiting to bring out and did you know that you can now buy a pump for this foundation! Estee Lauder you seriously win hands down for me when it comes to foundation.

Gold star if you have made it to the end of the post! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them

    1. It’s really worth trying especially to see whether cleansing oils would work for you.
What, really!? It’s still so well loved though if I didn’t have oily skin I’d be wearing wake me up all the time!x

  1. I love Estée Lauder Double Wear, it’s my go to “going out” foundation!
Also you can’t wait to go wrong with micellar water, I love it for taking off my make up.

  2. Oh I NEED that shampoo! I have oily roots & dry ends too so if you love it so much I think I would too. Also, double wear is just my all time fave! I can’t wear it every single day as like you say it is too much, but if I’m going somewhere special it’s perfect x

  3. I have always used talc powder rather than dry shampoo on my hair (but I can sometimes go overboard and look grey). I was told to use dry shampoo, I’ll give the Batiste one a try – thank you xxx
