Hello my lovelies,
Yes, you see the title correctly I am actually reviewing hair products. I haven’t done this in a long time and to be honest it was long overdue. I’m not one to spend an awful lot of money or time on hair care and to be honest I’m not very loyal to brands either. I think I’m not loyal mainly because I have never found anything that is truly groundbreaking especially when it comes to shampoo & conditioner. I have oily roots but the bulk of my hair is fairly dry, as they are two different issues it proves rather difficult to find products that work!
In walks these relatively new products launched by L’Oreal. Everything these babies claim I’m all for – Oily Roots, Dry Ends. Finally a brand realised that people have these problems and have devised a formula that should help combat it. Although when I first saw these I was pretty excited, I didn’t really hold out much hope – mainly because I am often left disappointed when it comes hair care products.
I love the packaging of this range. As with L’Oreal’s whole Elvive range the shape of the bottles are the same. The colours really appeal to me with this range. They are a mix between green and blue, which just so happens to be one of my favourite colours. I feel as though the colours of this range really work well with the product within which is clay based.
These are the claims from L’Oreal:
The Secret of Clay for 72 Hours of Pure Roots and Hydrated Ends. For the first time, L’Oréal Paris Laboratories have combined 3 Refined Clays to create its first re-balancing range revealing perfectly balanced, beautiful hair.
- Scalp feels deeply purified for 72 hours with freshness and light, lifted roots.
- Dry hair feels hydrated right to the ends for fluid, free-flowing lengths.
- Revitalises the hair with softness, shine and bounce.
A delicate Clay texture for hair purity, hydration and beauty.
For me, they are pretty big claims and when I first tried this I wasn’t convinced. I used this a few times and to be honest it just felt like a normal shampoo and conditioner – nothing special. However, after about 4 uses I for some reason gave my scalp a little massage whilst I had the shampoo within my hair which really allowed the product to sink into my roots. Well, my oh my it’s a game changer.
My hair looked and felt AMAZING after this massage and hair wash. I think this really helped to activate the product and now I give myself a little head massage every time I wash my hair which one feels great but also allows the hair product to really work. My hair really is less oily and I can now go an extra day without washing it as well as using less dry shampoo which is always a bonus. My ends also are starting to improve and they feel a lot less dry. I always feel that this takes a little bit longer to combat but I can definitely see the difference in my hair – slowly but surely it’s becoming less dry and straw like.
Honestly I can’t explain how impressed I am with these products, I think for me the shampoo is the star of the show as I feel that this is really able to help with my oily roots which has always been a problem I can never overcome. However, the conditioner is its trusty side kick and the pair together have really improved the look and feel of my hair.
For me, this is a groundbreaking range. There aren’t many products like these on the market that claim to combat both oily roots and dry ends and I think their formula is just lovely. I find it doesn’t weigh down my hair and is easily washed out. I just can’t rave about them enough and I’m so happy that I have finally found a range that improves my hair rather than just simply washing it. I have actually already mentioned these in my recent Favourites Post because I just wanted to share my love for them.
I have already gone through a duo of these and I repurchased these even before I ran out because I just can’t be without them. I also love that how affordable they are and to be honest they are fairly frequently on offer. I believe there is a dry shampoo and hair mask also in this range which I think I may try out to see the results. If they are anything like the shampoo and conditioner then I think I will be onto a winner!
