Hello my lovelies,
A lot of people love make up. I am one of them. However, with all the make up lovers out there, there are very few who then actually take care of their skin. I am a big advocate of ensuring make up is removed correctly and to give your skin the TLC it deserves. I’m always on the hunt for trying new things, especially cleansers. People say that skincare is expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. In recent years a lot more brands have brought out cleansing oils and although they can be pretty darn expensive I thought I would review a budget friendly version.
Simple is a brand I have loved every since I was a teenager. People I speak to say they don’t use it any more because it’s cheap and therefore it’s not very good. Personally, I don’t own a lot of skincare products from Simple but pretty much all the products I have used from them in recent years I have really enjoyed. They have really upped their game and I’m a big supporter of affordable skincare so with all the oils about I was intrigued that they recently brought out this oil.
I have oily skin and a lot of people would say well why are you using an oil? Well, because all I have is excess oil. This doesn’t add to the oil as it’s removed from the skin so really it’s not an issue. Use whatever works on your skin I say and if it doesn’t cause you issues and does something good then go for it. Don’t be afraid!
The bottle, is average – but it is a budget brand so you can’t be asking for much and their branding is always so clear on the packaging which is all that matters. My annoyance with this, as it’s an oil it really should have a pump. It just controls the amount of product that comes out as when it comes to oils as they are so concentrated you don’t need an awful lot.
I can’t tell you how much to use because to be honest I squeeze and just estimate but I would go with less is more when it comes to oil. I apply this to a dry face and instantly it melts away my face make up. Most mascaras this removes instantly, there are some it struggles with but to be honest after a little perseverance it is able to remove pretty much everything. I find with this oil that it doesn’t irritate my eyes at all which is a massive plus when it comes to cleansers.
I remove the cleanser with a warm cloth/flannel and all the remnants are removed. The mascara does take a little while to remove but as my lashes are covered in oil it swipes off in no time. My skin is always left feeling so soft after using this, sometimes I will go in with a second cleanse but only if I have worn a lot of makeup that day just to ensure my skin is as clean as possible.
This is a lovely cleanser to use, and as oil cleansers come this is one of the best I have tried. I use it more in the winter time as I always feel like my skin needs that bit more TLC and love which oils are amazing for. I do always end up way more than I need because there isn’t a pump system to control what you need but for the price you pay it’s not as though you feel you money is being wasted.
Overall, I am really impressed. This cleanser I use over a lot of other more expensive products because it does exactly what I want it to do. It removes my make-up and my skin definitely thanks me for using it. This is a great place to start to get into the world of cleansers or oil cleansers. Now I love this product I will be most certainly looking for what else they have on offer. It just goes to prove that just because it’s an affordable product it isn’t inferior to a product that may be double or triple the price.
At £7 a bottle it’s really worth trying out. If you would like to find out more or purchase it for yourself see here
