Hello my lovelies,
I’m back with a new blog post – yay! I do apologise that it has been a while and I am sure I will explain in a separate blog post but today it’s all about a new review. I have had the pictures taken for such a long time and I am finally getting round to doing it. As I always say in my skincare reviews, I feel as though people forget about how important a good skincare routine is. No body wants bad skin and with packing a load of makeup on your face you need to be able to treat your skin and look after it. I’m not saying you have to spend a lot of money and invest in high end brands because for me, the drug store offer amazing products that do just as well in my opinion.
In comes this little baby, the Garnier Pure Active Sensitive Anti-Blemish Clarifying Tonic. First off, why do products have such long names!? Seriously, you are never going to remember that – but hey what do I know! For me, Garnier is a great brand. If you have read my blog for a while then you know their micellar water is a staple in my skincare. Whenever there are offers on in Boots or Superdrug I always like to try out more of their products and very rarely am I disappointed. Something I don’t use a lot of is toner. I don’t know why but it just isn’t a step in my routine I remember an awful lot. This year I am really trying to up my skincare game and this is where this little baby comes into play.
Our new tonic, with Witch Hazel extract, is formulated for sensitive skin with imperfections and spots. It combines effectiveness with a gentle, hydrating formula to tone and tighten the look of pores without drying out skin. Instantly: skin feels clean, hydrated and softer.
Doesn’t everyone want a bit of this? I mean I don’t suffer with acne but I do suffer with spots, I normally have one on my face that I’m battling and I feel that with the oily skin I have that I am more prone to spots. I do try to buy products that are formulated for oily/combination skin as well as anti-blemish properties to try and combat this. This toner just sounded right up my street! My pores are also quite big on my nose so anything that is going to decease the size of them I am all for!
As I don’t suffer with a crazy amount of blemishes at one time I don’t use this twice daily on my skin as it recommends as I worry that it may cause more damage than good. It has Witch Hazel within the product which for my skin is pretty strong so I stick to twice a week which I feel is just enough for my skin.
This is like any other toner I have tried in the sense that it’s a gel formula. I quite enjoy using gels, I’m not sure why but I think it’s mainly to do with how lovely it feels on my skin. The product smells lovely, I would say mainly cucumber based with a hint of mint. Instantly it soothes my skin and feels so hydrating. A little of this product goes a long way and I have used this so much and it still doesn’t look as though I have really used it.
What I love about this product as because it’s a gel formula it instantly sinks into the skin and doesn’t leave a residue on my face which means I don’t have to wait to do the next part of my routine. When I wake up I instantly can see a difference and I really think that this product is a massive part as to why my pores have reduced and look visibly so much better.
I’m not sure if it has done much to help with my spots but I do agree with it’s claims of hydrating my skin and the tightening of my pores. I just love how different it is to any of my other toners and has actually changed the way I perceive a toner to be. My skin feels so lovely in the morning and even if I forget to moisturise after I use this, yes I can be lazy, my skin is still really smooth.
If you haven’t tried this I would really recommend it, I am so happy that I have tried this because for me this has really made a difference. Obviously I can’t vouch for how effective it is for acne prone skin but for the average person who has oily skin and has regular blemishes this really is a life saver and is now a staple in my skincare routine.

Let me know if you have tried this before and how you got on with it. Also any toner recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
