Review: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Hello my lovelies,

Kat Von D was a brand I finally ventured into in 2017 and I have been impressed by a the products I have tried which includes their everlasting liquid lipsticks, full review here . There is a lot of hype around this brand and for good reason. The tattoo liner is something that everyone wants to get their hands on from the brand and I think it’s about time I share with you my thoughts of the product with you. I worry sometimes with hyped up products whether they will work for me but it would be silly not to try this especially now that it is finally available in the UK.

I picked up the tattoo liner from IMATS in London where there was a Kat Von D stand I was so excited to see it there that I knew I had to get my hands on this and finally try it out. I picked up the liner in Trooper Black, for me eyeliner has to be black. I absolutely adore the packaging, I love that Kat Von D in all her products shows her creativity and skill it just makes the product that little more special.

The eyeliner pen itself is very fine and has separate bristles which I love, I much prefer this over a pen nib vibe because I find it easier to create a precise line and if you are all for the winged liner this is the perfect pen for creating that. It’s a lot more flexible which I find 10x easier than trying to line your eye with a pen nib that just doesn’t move. I hope this make sense because for me this is pretty hard to explain!

The liquid itself is a black as it can be, you know when you get an eyeliner and it claims to be black and it isn’t yea this isn’t one of those. It creates the perfect line on the eyes and lasts all day. I never find any transfer on the top of my eyelids which I find a massive problem with eyeliners in general. I’m not for the panda look at all! Even at the end of the day it is still in the same position as to when I applied it in the morning – happy days!

I would say that this eyeliner dries out pretty quickly, for the cost of it I would expect it to last a little longer I am using the drags of this at the moment as I am not ready to throw it away just yet because of the cost. It’s so frustrating because it is a blooming amazing product but I don’t want to buy another one so soon.

Overall, it’s such a lovely product. As eyeliners go this is the best one I have ever tried and since I have had it I have used it near enough every day, to my nothing else has come close as of yet. Sometimes it’s good to stick to what you know and this is one of them! If you want to get your hands on this little baby then the best place to buy it from is Debenhams

Let me know if you have tried this product and what your thoughts are, I would love to know. Also if you have any recommendations for other eyeliners for me to try out I’m all ears!

  1. I have a strange relationship with this eyeliner. It’s easy to use and beautifully black, but I would agree that it dries out way too quick. I can’t find another liner I like, but I can’t justify paying for this one so often!

  2. I have never tried any Kat Von D products, but if I was to buy something, it probably would be this! I love how you described it, I know exactly what you mean. It sounds like a nice application and I love really true black liners, so I may have to splurge!

  3. I love this eyeliner, very easy to make a nice winged liner too😍
One thing that doesnt work for me though is it claims to be waterproof. It stays good, but for my runny eyes it smudges a little bit. So if i really want it to stick i have to use isadora waterproof liner on the edges, then it stays on until you wash it Off. 👍🏼
