December Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

It’s the end of another month and not only a month but the end of 2017 – I cannot actually believe that another year has gone. People really aren’t lying when they say time flies and we need to make the days count. December has been a crazy month at the start of the month our family had a new addition – a puppy! It’s been a crazy month with our new family member along with Christmas. Obviously Christmas consumes the most of the month which is fine by me! I got a Harry Potter tattoo with my best friend which was part of my Christmas present – I know amazing right!

Although I have recently written my Top 10 Makeup and Skincare products of 2017 here I thought it would be nice to share with you what I have also been loving this month as opposed to the whole year. It still works right?

Tarte – Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette see here

I recently mentioned this little baby in my recent Black Friday Haul that I picked this  up. I have never had anything from Tarte before and I was so excited to get my hands on this. The colours are completely up my street and I have loved experimenting with the colours inside. The eyeshadow formula is beautiful, not as pigmented as other brands but they are buildable and if you are heavy handed like me then actually it’s a blessing in disguise!

The packaging is blooming beautiful as well – like do you need any further information!? I will be posting a full review of this product in weeks to come when I have experimented with it a little more to give you a more detailed post of my thoughts. First impressions though are a big thumbs up from me!

Tarte – Lights Camera Lashes Mascara see here

This is another product that I picked up in my Black Friday Haul and actually this is a product I have wanted to try in FOREVER. This mascara has rave reviews and I was on the hunt for another mascara and the packaging sold it to me. I am so happy I have tried this mascara, honestly trust the reviews on this one! The effect it gives your lashes is beautiful!

Unfortunately I suffer with my lashes being quite oily in the sense that I always end up looking like a panda especially under my eyes and there are very few mascaras that don’t create this unflattering look. Fortunately, this mascara doesn’t give me the panda look and I am over the moon! It’s everything I want in a mascara! Again, I will be doing a further in depth review of this so keep your eyes peeled!

Garnier Skin Active – Daily Exfoliating Scrub see here

Another new product I have been trying out this month. Although brands always claim you can use exfoliators daily I’m not too sure. I worry that it also scrubs away the good stuff especially with constant use so I use this 2/3 times a week and I feel that this is more than enough. This scrub focuses on combating spots and blackheads which this month I have really needed help with as with a new puppy licking my face I have completely broken out.

This stuff is pretty strong so if you have sensitive skin, I don’t think this product is for you. Luckily my skin can take most thing but it does make your skin tingle but it actually feels like it is doing something as opposed to being washed off the skin. I absolutely love it and I think my skin has got a lot better in recent weeks because of this product.

Sephora – Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Always Red see here

I picked this up around September this year and for whatever reason completely forgot I had it. Obviously December is all about the red lip and I thought I would give this a go. My oh my it’s AMAZING best lip cream I have EVER tried. I know that’s a bold statement but trust me on this one. The colour pay off is perfect with one layer and you are good to go. It is a matte lip which doesn’t dry your lips and actually feels pretty comfortable AND it lasts ALL day.

What more could you want!? I’m literally gutted that I don’t have more of these because the colours they have are amazing I believe there are 40 shades to choose from and if they are all the same formula as the one I have then I want them all. I need to go to Sephora ASAP, UK why do we still not have a store it’s not fair!

Botanics – Cleansing Balm see here

I love trying new cleansers and formulas and I have never really tried balms before. I have an Estee Lauder balm but I’m not the biggest fan I thought I would try it again and try this one from Botanics which is a brand I have never tried before. I’m not too sure why because this is amazing. It does such a good job of removing my make up & cleansing my face. I can’t fault it.

The biggest test of whether a cleanser is good or not is how good it can remove mascara. I have tried this with multiple mascaras and I’m pleased to report back that it does a great job. I couldn’t be more happy with the little baby. I think next time I am in Boots I will be seeing what else is in the range!

John Frieda – Daily Miracle Leave-In Conditioner see here

I have been on the hunt for a new de-tangler/ leave in conditioner for the longest time. The one I usually use is from The Body Shop but I find it so hard to get hold of so it was time to try something new. I was in Boots for the longest time trying to find the one that would work for me. I chose this one because I knew I had to pick something up because I was running low of my current one.

I absolutely LOVE it, it smells so fresh which is perfect when I have washed my hair and I am adding this product. It instantly de-tangles my hair and leaves my hair feeling so lovely. I do feel like the ends of my hair are a lot healthier this month and I think it is down to this little baby. It’s even better than it’s a little cheaper than my favourite The Body Shop product, move aside I think I have found my new love!

Technic – Get Gorgeous Highlighter Powder see here

I reviewed this product earlier this year and I wasn’t completely wowed. However I always feel perseverance is key and I have been still using it throughout the year. This month it has been my go to highlighter. It just seems to create the perfect glow and I love the outcome. Highlighter is a big thing when it comes to the colder months as you still want the perfect glow and this really is amazing especially for the price. I think I am going to have to swallow my words from what I wrote earlier in the year. To see my full review on this product you can read it here

The Balm – Fratboy Blusher see here

I feel as though The Balm has become a bit of a forgotten brand. I don’t have many products from them but everything I have I do really like including this one. I have brought this blush out this month and fell completely back in love. It’s a beautiful soft pink that creates a soft subtle flush on the cheeks. It’s perfect for this time of year especially when you want your highlight to take center stage. I actually mentioned this in my Top 3 – Blushers and I would still stand by it being one of my favourites.

Top 10 Skincare Products of 2017

Hello my lovelies,

As promised I wanted to share with you my favourite skincare products of 2017. Some of these products will come as no surprise if you have been reading my blog for a while but I thought well I’m sure I can spread more love about these products because if you don’t own them I think you darn well should! As this is probably going to lengthy post I’ll quit jabbering away & get on with it!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Clinque – Moisture Surge see here

So yes a typical skincare item for a blogger but there is a reason why everyone has it because it’s amazing! I always worry with moisturises that due to my oily skin too much oil will be produced from the product and thus making my skin worse. This one, is the perfect amount of hydration and leaves my skin feeling amazing. I have read reviews from people who have dry skin and love this just as much. I’m so happy that I received a new pot of this for christmas – just amazing.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Clinique – Clarifying Lotion see here

Another Clinique product, I know but I have really enjoyed using their products this year. I use this as a toner before I moisturise which I believe is what you are meant to do but it is not classed as a toner. Who follows instructions anyway!? I’m not a massive toner person – I am really trying recently to use it and this baby has really helped. This just glides over my skin and doesn’t irritate me at all. My skin always feels divine after using this!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Sephora – Supreme Cleansing Oil see here

Yes, I couldn’t do a skincare post without showing this little baby. This has changed my whole cleansing world. I was happy with the whole hot cloth products but when I was in Paris and I was in Sephora and I saw this and I was like yea why not lets give it a go. I’m so glad I did because oh my it’s changed my life! I was so worried with my oil prone skin that this wouldn’t work but boy was I wrong. Currently this is my go to cleanser I’m just so annoyed that I can’t get hold of it in the UK – if you can get to a Sephora try this baby out!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

L’Oreal – Pure Clay Detox Wash see here

Now for me, L’Oreal have really upped their skincare game this year and this baby is included in this. I love a good face wash and anything that claims to detox my skin and remove impurities and remove excess oil. This really does do the trick, this is the strangest consistency it does take some getting used to but once you do it’s amazing. It’s like applying a face mask because it’s fairly thick but it really does wash my skin. I really feel it gets into the skin and remove all the rubbish. This has been a massive savior to my skin this year.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Simple – Refreshing Facial Wash Gel see here

Another face wash, I said I love them! This has been a firm favourite for absolute years and I much prefer the gel like formulas for a face wash and it does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a basic product but I just love it and I always ensure I have at least one of these as a back up. I use it near enough every single day. I know people say you should invest money into skincare but sometimes you don’t have to when the drugstore offers so many amazing products.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Simple – Soothing Facial Scrub see here

I love a good facial scrub and yes this is another Simple product! This is my go to exfoliator of choice, I mean I do use others but I always go back to this little baby. It does the job and isn’t too harsh so this should be great for those people who worry about exfoliators. My skin always feels sooo much better when I use this – I use this around 3 times a week with no problems. Simple skincare is so underrated, if you haven’t tried anything from them I urge you to check them out.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Garnier – Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water see here

This is the ONLY micellar water I will use. I don’t care what people say this is the best micellar water on the market and is amazing value for money. I use this religiously multiple times a day and will always be a part of my skincare routine. I could write for days about how much I love this product but I won’t. If you have never tried a micellar water or the Garnier one then do it – honestly you won’t regret it. That’s all I’m going to say..

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Primark – Oval Cosmetic Pads

These are the ONLY cotton pads I use. Nothing compares to these. You seriously cannot go wrong for 90p and honestly they are the best quality pads I have ever tried. I have gone through so many different cotton pads and just nothing compares. These literally appear in near enough every empties post – I go through so many. If Primark ever discontinue these then I will cry for days and start a petition!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Loreal – Pure Clay Detox Face Mask see here

This mask is AMAZING. Whenever my skin is feeling meh and not looking great this is the first mask I run to to help me out. My skin always looks so clean and soft after using this and it does last a good couple of days after. If I pair this with the face wash as well then I know my skin will be looking fabulous. Their whole pure clay range is pretty impressive. I have quite a few products from the range but by far the detox line in my favourite.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Liz Earle – Cleanse & Polish see here

Obviously I couldn’t write a favourite skincare post without Liz Earle. The brand as a whole is amazing and everything that I have tried I love but this by far is my favoruite product. For me this signifies more than just a cleanser. I have been a make up lover for the longest time but skincare always took a back seat. However this was raved about to high heaven and I finally took the plunge to spend the money on skincare. My oh my I’m still in love 3 years down. I always come back to this cleanser whenever I need some TLC. Whenever anybody asks for a recommendation on a cleanser this is what I suggest. So, if you haven’t tried it firstly how the hell have you not!? Secondly go buy it you won’t regret it!

Congratulations if you made it to the end of this post – very proud! Let me know what your stand out skincare products have been this year. I’m always on the hunt to try new things!

What I got for Christmas 2017

Hello my lovelies,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed spending time with the ones you love most. I had a great Christmas with all my loved ones and consumed an awful lot of food. Christmas literally is the best for food and I have ate everything in sight! Our family’s main Christmas gift came early this year as we got a puppy at the start of December – I know amazing right!? I absolutely adore him and made our Christmas that little bit more special.

My Christmas presents this year I was well a truly spoiled, like I am every year and I am so thankful for the gifts I have received as although I made a list I didn’t think I would actually receive what was on there. Everyone did so well & I love that people know me so well. I will be sharing with you what beauty gifts I received this year as this is a beauty blog. I posted one of these last year here

I hope you enjoy reading this – just a little disclaimer I am not bragging I’m just nosy and I love reading these posts so I thought I would do one of my own.

Clinique Moisture Surge Gift Set see here

So I love Clinique Moisture Surge, it’s amazing and I asked for it for Christmas and I was REALLY hoping someone would buy me this – obviously this is one better because its a set. My boyfriend really does know me so well. So the set includes the Moisture Surge Moisteriser, an overnight face mask, concentrate gel and a chubby stick in watermelon. I am soooooo excited to use these goodies and I’m also reunited with an amazing moisturiser! I’m sure I will be reviewing the products I haven’t tried so keep your eyes peeled.

Jo Malone – Blackberry & Bay Body & Hand Lotion see here

First off anything from Jo Malone is a massive thumbs up from me! When I saw the Jo Malone bag I fell in love. I wanted to try different products from the brand as I have a few colognes and candles so why not try hand lotion. I’m really not a hand cream girl and I REALLY want to get into it and this scent is beautiful that I thought it was a good place to start. I first wanted this when a few months ago I was invited for a complimentary massage at a new store opening. She used this and my oh my I fell in love. I cannot wait to get using this properly.

Huda Beauty – The Brown Edition Liquid Lipsticks see here

So I did recently review the Huda Beauty Liquid Lipsticks here so I was a very happy bunny to receive the mini collection so I can try out some more shades! Brown liquid lipsticks really are my jam so when I opened this from my best friend I was over the moon. The shades in this are: Trendsetter, Flirt, Spice Girl and Vixen. So excited to get using these!

Mark Hill – Healthy Hair Don’t Care Gift Set see here

I have never tried anything from Mark Hill before, maybe because I don’t have a huge interest in hair products but I was so happy to receive this. The gift set is so cute! It comes with a Shampoo, Conditioner, hair mask and argan oil. Anything that claims to make my hair feel good and healthy I am all for. My hair is in need of some TLC so I will be trying these babies out soon and don’t worry I will let you know how I get on.

Spectrum – White Marbleous 12 Piece Brush Set see here

So I was on the hunt for some new make up brushes I haven’t brought any this year and I knew it was about time. I have been eyeing up Spectrum for the longest time, my issue is that they all look so blooming beautiful it was hard to choose what set to go for. I am so happy with these brushes. I mean who doesn’t love white and gold together. I cannot wait to get using these babies!

Harry Potter – Make Up Brushes see here

With me being a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan, I think my boyfriend only thought it was right to buy me the make up brushes. I actually brought these for my best friend in the summer and I was so tempted to buy myself a set but I decided that I shouldn’t. Now I have my own set! They are pretty weighty brushes and I’m excited to see how they perform. My life is now complete!

MAC – Caitlyn Jenner Lipstick in Authentic Red see here

I LOVE MAC lipsticks, I mean more recently I haven’t brought many but there will always be a place in my heart for them. What I love even more is the collections they do. The packaging is always beautiful. For whatever reason I wasn’t too phased by the Caitlyn Jenner collection as it all seemed so nude and it really isn’t much my thing. I opened this and saw this beautiful red shade – who could say no to this gorgeous colour. I absolutely love it and I love that it is a creamsheen finish. I am sure I will get a lot of use out of this.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Sancturay Spa – Radiance Peel-Off Mask see here

This is a brand I have wanted to try for the longest time but I have never taken the plunge and brought anything from them. I love a good face mask especially at this time of year when my skin needs that extra boost. I will obviously let you know how I get on. Who knows whether this will be the start of a new love affair!?

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Lush – Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Sad news, I can’t link this as it has gone from Lush’s website. This is a limited edition scent that comes round every Christmas. It’s a sweet candy floss smell that I absolutely adore. If anyone ever asks me what I want for Christmas it’s snow fairy. I hate that it is only around for Christmas time. I received two bottles of it this year so I’m sure I will be using is sparingly across the year so I can enjoy it as much as possible. If you have never smelt this, November 2018 go into a Lush store and smell it – you won’t regret it!

Kevin Aucoin – Sculpting Powder see here

I am SO happy to receive this little baby, it was on my list but I thought that if I didn’t receive it then it would definitely be purchased with my Christmas money. I have wanted to up my contour game for the longest time and this just seems like the perfect product. I have heard so many good things about this little baby and I’m so excited to give this a go. As my sister said, the best things come in small packages.

Soap & Glory – Soaper Heroes see here

I think most people receive a Soap & Glory gift set and they never disappoint. It’s the perfect way to try their products out and stock up on the ones you love. Obviously all these products will be used up, most of them I have tried before so I hope I still love them as much as I used to. Also, don’t you just love their names of their sets. Simple yet great!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Ted Baker – Beauty Gift Set

So I can’t find this anywhere online. This is one of my most favourite gifts as it was from my Grandad. I have never tried Ted Baker make up before and I’m so excited to try it out. The packaging is just amazing! I will be reporting back on these because I can’t wait to see how these babies perform. You even get brushes! I feel like I have been gifted so many brushes this year & I’m so excited to try them out.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

That’s all folks. I am a happy bunny that I can now put these products away and get using them! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and your thoughts on them. Also if anyone has tried beauty products from Ted Baker I would love to know your thoughts!

Top 10 MakeUp Products of 2017

Hello my lovelies!

It’s nearly the end of 2017, I’m completely baffled by how quickly this year has gone. I thought it would be a good idea to give you a round up of my favourite products of 2017. If you have read my blog for a while some of these products will not be a surprise however some I absolutely adore and for whatever reason I haven’t mentioned before. I will also be doing a skincare version of this post so keep your eyes peeled!

I Heart Makeup – Goddess of Love Triple Baked Highlighter see here

So if you know me, I blooming love highlighter. Who doesn’t!? I have brought so many new highlighters this year and my collection is a bit overwhelming. However, you know you have those days where you are indecisive so you stick to one. This is the one. I know for most this will be a bit of a strange choice but it’s so blooming gorgeous. I much prefer a golden highlight and for me this is just perfect. It creates such a beautiful glow on your cheeks and personally I just don’t think you can beat it.

I mean for me I’m not a massive a fan of the packaging, it’s a little young for me and it’s so bulky it takes up a lot of space in my collection. But, I can forgive it because it’s so damn beautiful. I love it even more because of the price because you get so much product. I mean I use this at least once a week and it still seems as though I haven’t made a dent in it. Seriously, if you haven’t tried this highlight it’s a must!

Benefit – Hoola Bronzer see here

So most makeup lovers have this little baby in their collection, if you haven’t tried this why the hell not!? I have been upping my contour game this year, well attempting to anyway and this little baby has been with my every step of the way. Although it’s branded as a bronzer it’s the perfect contour shade for me. It has never let me down and it is the perfect shade for my skin tone. I hit pan earlier on in the year and I got so worried but it’s still going strong.

I am trying to use other contour products but I always go back to this wonderful product. I don’t know what it is, it’s just perfect. I love everything about it and I know that I won’t be giving up this baby anytime soon. I know I have mentioned this product in quite a few favourites I just love sharing how amazing this product is. I know it’s a very hyped up product but there is a good reason why!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Nip + Fab – Viper Venom Micro Blur Fix Primer see here

So this is fairly recent purchase to my collection, again I have brought way to many primers this year! This has by far been my favourite. In fact I will go as far to say this is my favoruite primer in my collection currently. This is the only product I have from Nip + Fab and I seriously need to buy some more if this little baby is to go by. It is a little pricey at £20 but I believe it is on offer in Superdrug quite often and I found mine in TK MAXX for a fraction of the price.

I have written a full review of the product here so if you want a little more information on it then this will help. This is a clear gel primer that is more on the silicone side. I thought this was worth mentioning because people have different preferences. I absolutely adore this primer, super long wearing and makes all of my foundations look that much better. I seriously don’t think a primer can beat this, but we shall see!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Modern Renaissance Palette see here

Yes of course this little baby made on the list. I am OBSESSED with this palette. I absolutely love it. I was determined this year to shake up my eyeshadow looks and this little baby has opened my eyes to so much. The colours in this palette are just AMAZING. If you are thinking about buying this palette I seriously would go ahead and buy it. These are the best eye shadows I have ever used formula wise. They beat the likes of Urban Decay and Charlotte Tilbury.

The only annoying thing is that I have kind of wrecked the packaging. It’s beautiful packaging don’t get me wrong but seriously it gets so messy! I have completed a full review of this product here so if you are still on the fence this may help. I know I won’t stop using this palette for the longest time. I love you Modern Renaissance thank you so much to opening my eyes to beautiful colours.

Soap & Glory – Kick Ass Instant Retouch Pressed Powder see here

I never thought I would see the day that I would rave about a powder. I mean seriously it’s the most boring product I apply to my face daily but I’m so impressed with this little baby. It just works with my skin and is great at oil control. It just sets my make up and I never feel like I need to touch up. I thought at first that it must be my primer but when I swapped my powder I noticed a difference. I never realised how important finding a good powder was.

I have mentioned this in recent favourite posts actually because I’m so impressed. I don’t have many make-up products from soap and glory because I feel it is slightly overpriced but the powder is seriously worth the money. I have gone through a couple of these little babies and I don’t think I will stop using this any time soon. If you are on the hunt for a new powder I recommend trying this out.

Benefit – Roller Lash Mascara see here

Another Benefit product, I didn’t realise this until now – whoops! So I haven’t really featured this in my blog I don’t think. The reason why is because I don’t use it as my upper lash mascara. It just doesn’t do what I want it to do I have had it for a while but I didn’t want to throw it away because it’s a waterproof mascara. Unfortunately a lot of mascara I own when I apply to my bottom lashes transfer to under my eyes so I look like a panda.

So, this little baby I apply to my bottom lashes every single day. A little tip if your mascara is running out but you don’t want to throw it away until it’s completely used up I would use it as a bottom lash mascara. I don’t think I will repurchase because I have found so many wonderful mascaras but I do use this every single day so it was worth mentioning.

MAC – 221 Brush see here

For whatever reason I don’t really talk about brushes, 2018 is the year I introduce you to my brush collection I will warn you it’s quite extensive! However, a couple of years ago I jumped on the hype of MAC’s 217 brush and although I love it, it just wasn’t working how I wanted it to. For my birthday this year I got my makeup done by MAC, it was so much fun! She started to work on my eyes and focusing on the crease and she used this brush and literally it has become the best brush I own.

It’s so flipping soft, it is perfect for crease work. You know when you never can replicate what people do to you even using the same products – I could replicate it. Now it’s not down to my skills it’s this blooming brush. I use it every single day, my crease always look AMAZING. I need to buy more of these because they are the best brush ever. With a £20 price tag though it does deter me.

Urban Decay – Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original see here

Eyeshadow primer is a must for me, if you don’t use it WHY!? The best one I have ever tried is this little baby. It seriously is amazing and my eye shadow always looks so much better. I can’t apply eye shadow without using this. However, I really don’t like the new packaging I much prefer the whole squeezy tube than doe foot but the product inside is still amazing as ever.

NYX – Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Teddy see here

So this was really hard to only put one lip product in this post but I thought I would narrow it down to just one, the most worn. This shade is flipping gorgeous. This year has been this year of a brown lip for me. The formulation of these lipsticks are incredible and one of the best I have ever tried. For a drug store this product this is seriously impressive. I seriously need to get my hands on more shades and I am sure you will see more from me.

I have actually done a full review of this here so if you would like a little more information then this may help. If you haven’t tried this liquid lipstick then you seriously need to – there are so many beautiful colours in the range and if you are a lipstick junkie like me then you’ll love this!

Benefit – Precisely, My Brow Pencil in Shade 4 see here

Last but by no means least my eyebrow savior. I know another Benefit product – I clearly have been loving the brand this year without even realising.  This is the best brow pencil EVER. I don’t use this product for the whole of my brows, I use it for the front to create a more natural brow as they are a little sparce. I absolutely love it, and I don’t think I am going to be using a different brow pencil any time soon.

This has made my Top 3| Eyebrow Products obviously. My only annoyance is that I just go through it so quickly, for the price I do expect a little more in it BUT it doesn’t take away the fact that it is flipping amazing. Benefit really are at the top of their game for brow products. There are brow products for everyone in the range – if you haven’t tried any go and the lovely people on the counter will always help match you to your correct shade.

Review: Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer

Hello my lovelies,

For me, foundation is very personal and although there are an awful lot of reviews out there of different foundations everyone’s skin is different. However, I do think personal opinions are helpful you’ll get an understanding of whether it will work for you or not. Personally, I have oily skin so I do try to go for a matte finish and anything that claims oil control I’m all for!

This year, I haven’t brought many foundations. I’m all for investing in foundation and that means that it takes me a lot longer to decide. Thankfully the more luxe brands do allow you to have a sample and I mean a decent size sample so you can try before you buy – great idea right! This is how I tried this one out, I had a 7 day sample to which I was colour matched and I ended up buying the full size version.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

So, Clinique is a brand I haven’t ventured into much. I have a few skin care items from them but zero make up items. When I saw that Clinique brought out a foundation which is also a concealer I thought it was time to try out the brand and see what this baby was like. I was certain that I needed to get colour matched and the lady offered me a sample before I was to buy the bottle – I didn’t even ask she offered, great service! I was given a decent sized sample that was at least 10 applications.

The foundation claims to be moderate to full coverage with a natural matte finish. Literally when I read this I was like this is the foundation for me, everything I look for! The foundation itself is slightly different to anything I have tried before due to it having a doe foot applicator – like where is the pump!? With it having a doe foot applicator it’s mess free, you can either apply onto your hand or if you are lazy like me it goes straight onto your face. No foundation fingers.

When I first tried this foundation I was so worried that it would be a ridiculously heavy formula and I wouldn’t be able to wear daily. Although I love my Estee Lauder Double Wear I can’t wear this on a daily basis and I really didn’t want another one like it. To my amazement this foundation is lightweight on the skin, my skin can still breathe I mean I have no idea how this is possible with this being a foundation and a concealer but trust me on this one!

The coverage is pretty impressive, I only apply one layer and I’m good to go however I’m sure you could add a little more for a higher coverage – whatever floats your boat! Talking of coverage, I would say that the claim of being a foundation and a concealer I don’t really agree with. I don’t have awful skin but I do suffer with spots occasionally and I feel that I do need an extra something. I do sometimes use this to then spot conceal but really it needs a little more coverage which I use something else. I always still use a highlighting concealer under my eyes because I like that glow.

The finish is beautiful though, I mean it’s matte but it does have a little something so you don’t look completely flat. I actually I feel flipping flawless and wonderful when I wear this. You know you have that make up look that you feel like you can take on anything – this is my base of choice! This is a really long wearing foundation – I hate it when foundations oxidise and melt off your skin. I don’t have the time to keep topping up and this does still look good after a good 10 hours. I also would like to add it’s fab at oil control seriously I very rarely have issues with a shiny forehead when wearing this. I find that this is a very hard formula to get right for us oily girls and Clinique have succeeded.

Overall, I flipping love this foundation. I love wearing this and feel like a strong independent woman when I’m wearing this. The coverage is amazing as well as combating oil – it’s a match made in heaven for me. Personally, it isn’t a foundation and concealer and actually I’m totally ok with this because I feel as though I much prefer the two separate. Especially when my skin changes so often that I have different concealers on how my skin looks. This is now my go to foundation and I know I am going to get through this quite quickly now.

If you want to get your hands on one or find out more information then here you go.

Let me know if you have tried this foundation and what your thoughts are, also I am wanting to try more products from Clinique so please let me know your recommendations!

Empties #11

Hello my lovelies,

I’m back again with another Empties post, I think these are my favourite posts to write and read. Unfortunately they are always the longest posts because I can never shut up. I clearly have a lot to say. I honestly didn’t think I would be doing these as often as I do I try and leave it as long as possible but I have 10 empty products I mean seriously how do I go through it all!?

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Batiste – Dry Shampoo in Blush see here

In my opinion Batiste is the best brand for dry shampoo. I can’t live without it and I always have a bottle handy. Personally I don’t have a fragrance I go to, normally it’s whatever takes my fancy in the design when I’m choosing. The big bottles lasts so long and are such good value for money. I will forever be buying this goodness.

Soap & Glory – Peaches & Clean Deep Cleansing Milk see here

This is another firm favourite of mine, it is a complete savior. When I need a reliable cleanser this is one of the ones I normally go for. I have actually written a full review about this product here if you want a little more information on the cleanser. The only annoying this is that I majorly struggle to get the last bit out of the bottle. Seriously there is still a decent amount of product in there and I can’t seem to get to it. Lucky me I have another bottle of this ready and waiting to open!

TRESemme – Luxurious Moisture Shampoo see here

Annoyingly I can only find a link for the duo and not the shampoo separately. I did finish the conditioner a little while ago which I mentioned in a previous empties post here I was so happy when I finally finished this. The shampoo really went on for the longest time. I don’t think it worked well with my hair in the end because it became resistant to the effects. I think in future I will be sticking to getting smaller of bottles of shampoo. I like to mix it up a little.

The Body Shop – Detangling Spray for Coloured Hair see here

Annoyingly for whatever reason this is a very hard product to get hold of. I have very knotty hair even when I condition my hair I still need a helping hand and this is a little god send. It does exactly what it says on the bottle and gives that little extra moisture that I’m not complaining about.

Sadly, I don’t have another one waiting in the wings to use because it’s so hard to get hold of. I am currently using another one. If anyone can let me know of any good detangling sprays that would be fab – I find these so hard to get hold of. Why don’t brands understand that people get knotty hair and need help!

Revolution – Strobe Luxe Palette see here

Ok so this isn’t an empty BUT I have smashed it to pieces, accidentally may I add, on the floor. I can’t really use it far too messy and they didn’t wow me so I think rather than creating more mess it’s time to say goodbye. It’s a cute little palette and I’m in love with the packaging but I never reached for it much and the last time I did I dropped it. We just weren’t destined to be. I’m not sure if I would repurchase this as I have so many highlighters and I don’t think I will miss this much..

Original Source – Limited Edition Hibiscus & Pomegranate Tea Shower Gel see here

I really enjoy the Original Source shower gels, they are perfect for travelling and so easy to pick up. They have so many scents now and they are always on offer. This one I really did enjoy, I love the smell of pomegranate, it’s so fresh and is the perfect shower gel especially first thing in the morning. If I see this on the shelves again I will be buying it again but with it being limited edition and I think it will be a little tricky.

Soap & Glory – Kick Ass Pressed Powder in Totally Translucent see here

I LOVE this powder. I feel like for me powders are really hard to impress me. I mean they set your make up I always buy translucent so I never see it – it’s just a step of my makeup and normally just use the same one time and time again. However, this has really impressed me.

It’s great at oil control and does an amazing job at setting my make up. It’s one of the only powders I have repurchased in a long time because I knew I couldn’t be without it. The packaging I must say is a little flimsy my new one has already come unstuck from the backing so I can’t travel with it. £12 for a drugstore powder is a little pricey though..

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash see here

I had such high hopes for this product and actually it was fairly disappointing. I am not saying it’s a bad product I guess I just expected more from it, especially as I love their original micellar water. For me that is a holy grail product, but this I used up because it was ok but I won’t be repurchasing I’m afraid. I have heard so many good reviews about this but it just didn’t work the way I wanted it to. I have written a full review on this here

Urban Decay – Eyeshadow Primer in Sin see here

So I love Urban Decay Primer potion in original. I have quite a few samples of the other shades they have to offer and I have finally decided to get round to using them. For me I can’t apply eyeshadow without applying a primer to my lids. I just can’t do it. I thought I would love this as much as I love my original but sadly I didn’t.

The colour is extremely pink toned which really isn’t my cup of tea. It created a base that had colour in it which doesn’t compliment my skin tone. I mean it worked the same way but the colour really isn’t for me and resulted in me having to apply another base to even the tone out. Sorry but I will be sticking to the original primer potion!

PS Love (Primark) – Oval Cosmetic Pads

We all know that I’m obsessed with these. They are in nearly every single Empties post that I publish. These are the only cotton pads that I will use. They are perfect for removing make up and for 90p you really can’t go wrong. I have been stocking up and I think I have another two packets ready and waiting to go. Lets hope they aren’t discontinued anytime soon!

Hats off to you if you made it to the end! It’s so satisfying after I have written these posts because I can finally throw all the products away! Let me know if you have used any of these products and what your thoughts are on them.

Review – Crown 35 Color Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

Hello my lovelies,

I feel like I haven’t reviewed an eyeshadow palette in quite some time so here I am! Crown Brush is a brand that I have only really heard of for their brushes. I can add that their brushes are pretty incredible. When I was at IMATS this year this palette caught my eye on their stand and I couldn’t walk away without buying it. A Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette – yes please!

This year I have really been trying to step away from the standard nude eye with a bit of gold so I thought this palette would be perfect to see if I can move myself away from my comfort zone. Just an FYI you can see what else I brought at IMATS here it’s a brilliant event if you are a beauty addict like me!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Yes this palette is well loved, but I did accidentally drop it – I know I was heart broken which is why two of the pans are gone, annoyingly they were two of my favourite shades. Anyway, enough of me feeling sorry for myself lets get onto the review! I do like the packaging, it’s a solid black plastic with the simple crown logo on the front. This actually reminds me of the Morphe palettes which I really love. Unfortunately it’s not drop-proof as I found out but the packaging did hold up against my wooden floor!

These array of colours are amazing – I mean seriously how could you walk away from this! The shades are absolutely gorgeous, I love that you get a mix of both matte shades along with the most beautiful glitter shades. When I swatched the glitter shades my jaw dropped the pigmentation is insane! Before I knew it I had paid for it.

I was a little worried that with the amount of pigmentation the shades that there was going to be a serious amount of fall out. I’m all up for a little but I don’t want to be completely re-apply my base makeup because of my blooming eyeshadow. To my amazement there is next to nothing fall-out. I was seriously impressed and the pigmentation from brush to my eyelid was exactly the same as when I swatched it – seriously what more could you ask for!

I have created so many different eye-looks from this palette the possibilities really are endless and it has definitely got me out of my nude/gold eye looks. Some of the colours are a little daring but that’s the fun part – experimenting! The shades are so eye-catching and the amount of comments I have had on my eye-looks when I have these shadows just justifies why you should go out of your comfort zone sometimes.

I always use a lid primer which I think helps – I can’t not apply primer and I think the glitter colours especially will work better with one so do bare this in mind, or you can always wet your brush a little which will help with the application. As I use a eye primer these shadows last for AGES. Even when I come to take my make up my eye-look is still in place it’s like I only applied in minutes before – amazing right!?

I would say the matte shades aren’t as pigmented but actually I prefer this because I like to build the colour in my crease because I am a little heavy handed so it does help when it isn’t as pigmented that you feel as though you can’t erase what you have done. By no means am I saying they aren’t as good as the shimmer shades, just a friendly warning.

IMG_4528

These are 5 of my favourite shades from the palette and all I did was dip my finger in to achieve this – I did say they were pigmented! They are so blendable and buttery which helps when creating any eye look. I always get annoyed when you have a shadows that do not blend very well and you are there for around 10 minutes still blending – I just don’t have the time for this.

I will be honest and say I haven’t used all the shades in this palette I’m not a massive pink-toned fan but this is merely personal preference. I’m still finding new looks and I’m sure I will get round to them at some point – I mean there are 35 shades at the end of the day.

Overall, this is one of my favorite palettes I have found EVER. I know this is a big statement but seriously you need to try it for yourself. This is an amazing palette and your paying around 66p per shade – yes I know bargain! I would urge anyone who hasn’t checked out their makeup before to go try it. Seriously, I don’t think you will be disappointed!

You can find the palette here

Let me know if you have tried this palette or anything else from the brand. I feel like this is a brand that is so underrated in the beauty world!

Black Friday Haul

Hello my lovelies,

So Black Friday I’m never normally taken by, I normally finish my Christmas shopping by this point and Black Friday is normally where I’m sucked into buying something for someone else. However, not this year mainly what I brought was for me – whoops! I went a little mad but I’m so excited to try everything I have brought. I have decided these are my Christmas gifts to myself – that’s totally ok right?

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Beauty Bay

We will start here because this is what sucked me in to the Black Friday deals. Seriously the queue to get on the website was insane, please don’t tell me I was the only one that waited over 12 hours to get on the site!? I just wanted to get my hands on some Morphe Products really and that is exactly what I did!

Morphe – 9BZ Palette see here

I was on the hunt for a new contouring/bronzing powder and when I saw this I was like yes this is perfect. As soon as I opened it I fell in love with the colours. I haven’t heard much about this palette if I’m honest but for the price I paid I’m happy to give it a go, I shall report back!

Morphe – 35F Palette see here

I have wanted this palette for AGES, I’m not even joking it has been on countless wishlists that I have posted and whenever I try and buy it, it’s always out of stock! When I saw that it was in stock AND on sale I literally screamed with excitement. I cannot wait to get using this, the colours all look so pretty. I have high hopes with this palette as everyone and their blooming cat seems to own Morphe eye shadows it’s now finally my turn to enjoy.

Mario Badescu – Acne Facial Cleanser see here

So I have heard about this brand but for whatever reason never purchased anything. Although I don’t suffer with really bad acne, I can get break outs and I love to reach for products that are going to combat them and get rid of them as soon as possible. Let’s see what this does – I shall of course be reviewing this so keep your eyes peeled!

Tarte

So again, another brand I have never tried before. The reason is pretty simple for this one though is that it is a bit of a bugger to get hold of in the UK. When they had 25% off and free shipping to the UK I was well a truly sold and I knew it was time to buy a few things.

Tarte – Lights Camera Lashes Mascara see here

This mascara I have wanted for a long time, I could never justify the price or just buying this with the shipping I just admired from afar. Of course this was the first thing I put in my basket and as their was limited edition packaging I was like YES PLEASE! Urgh it looks so beautiful. I have high hopes for this little baby so lets hope it doesn’t disappoint.

Tarte – Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette see here

This palette is blooming beautiful, inside & out. Seriously do I need to explain any more? The colours are pretty and I new I wanted to try out a palette from Tarte and this one stole my heart. I have high hopes for this little baby, lets hope it doesn’t let me down.

Sephora

Okay, so this isn’t a Black Friday shopping trip I actually have just come back from Berlin and before I went I tried to see if their was a Sephora there, unfortunately the website said no and I was a little sad. While we were out there we went into a department store and what did I see – a great big Sephora counter. Yes I screamed, yes I have no shame.

Sephora – Supreme Cleansing Oil see here

I actually brought this on my last trip to Sephora in Paris and I fell completely in love see here so much so I have been using is sparingly because I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to repurchase anytime soon. Well, of course I brought a new bottle and now I can use it again. This stuff is amazing, if you are ever in Sephora go pick it up it’s amazing trust me.

Sephora – Green Tea Face Mask see here

Another favourite from my last haul that I knew I wanted to pick up again. This is perfect for troubled oily skin I really feel as though this does make a difference I will be using this as soon as possible, my skin needs a little treat and this is the perfect mask!

Huda Beauty – Dessert Dusk Palette see here

Yep, I brought it. I saw it in person & it was love at first sight. The pictures online really do not do this eyeshadow palette justice. I mean they are absolutely incredible and when I swatched them I just knew I couldn’t walk away. I reeeaaally hope that the pigmentation will be amazing on my eyes because boy I’m going to look good.

Charlotte Tilbury

Ok, so actually I didn’t buy this and nor was it brought on Black Friday BUT I just wanted to share this little baby because I’m so flipping excited. So my boyfriend didn’t come to Berlin with me and unfortunately I got an awful head cold while I was out there. When we flew back he stayed awake and presented me with a little bag of goodies.

First was some throat sweets – practical. Apple Juice – it was divine. Garnier Micellar Water – my favourite skincare product EVER. Simple Face Wipes – handy AND a Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips in Show Girl see here I was over the blooming moon & so grateful to receive such a lovely thoughtful gift. It made me even more happier that he had clearly been reading my blog as I mentioned this on my Christmas Wishlist here – top boyfriend points. I’m so excited to try this out, yes I have an addiction to liquid lipstick – I have no shame!

That’s all folks, I think I will now put myself on a spending ban! Let me know if you have tried any of these products before & what your thoughts are on them.

Review – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Hello my lovelies,

If you have been reading my blog posts for a while you will know I adore liquid lipsticks. Actually in the past couple of months it’s near enough all I have been wearing. The application is a whole lot easier and most of the time the formulation and longevity of the lipsticks are a whole lot better than ones in a bullet. Merely this is personal opinion and I am sure some of you will disagree but they really are a huge savior to me.

Kat Von D is a brand that I think we all have heard a lot about, up until this year I had never brought anything from the brand. When it finally was available in UK I was one happy bunny and actually purchased my first products from the brand at IMATS, see my post here. I now have two liquid lipsticks from the brand I thought I would share my thoughts with you on whether they are worth the money.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

For reference the two shades I have are: Sanctuary (brown) and Lovesick (pink). I was lucky enough to receive Lovesick free from when I visited Kat Von D’s stand at IMATS and I fell in love with the colour, it isn’t something I normally go for but when I swatched it I knew I was going to enjoy. The pink is a blue toned pink which I never thought I would go for but actually once applied looks amazing. Most people that know me would say I never wear pink so this was a big turning point for me. The full sized liquid lipstick I brought from Debenhams here which is a very standard brown which is right up my street.

I love the packaging of these lipstick, you just know from a quick glance that it is Kat Von D. I love products that are eye-catching because you just lean towards them more when choosing what you are going to apply. I love how thin the bottles are so they are perfect into squeezing into the smallest of places and the mini one is perfect for travelling. The applicator is a standard doe foot which is my personal preference.

Capture

Top – Sanctuary Bottom – Lovesick

These liquid lipsticks are very easy to apply, the doe foot is the perfect size and is easy to control. Very rarely do I go wrong with this so if you are a complete novice, don’t you worry. The time is takes to set is around two minutes for the formula to completely be matte. For me this isn’t a major issue but it is something to consider. I do forget this sometimes and then I eat and end up with lipstick all over my face, FYI not a good look.

When they dry, they dry into a comfortable matte formula which half the time you forget is even on your lips. As the formula is fairly thin but highly pigmented your lips never feel cakey or that there is too much product. I have never applied more than one coat of this to my lips and it always is more than enough.

The longevity of these are fairly impressive, not the best but I would say a good 8 hours. What I normally do is if I know I’m going to be out all day where I can’t reapply often I will just pop a lip liner on underneath just to ensure that it will stay all day and it really does.

I wouldn’t say these are the best liquid lipsticks I have ever tried but for overall satisfaction they really tick a lot of boxes. I mean I’m quite a picky person when it comes to liquid lipsticks because I wear them so often and for me they are more than comfortable to wear and reliable enough when worn with a lip liner to not worry about it for the day.

Personally the stand out for me is Love Sick, although I only have this in a mini I absolutely adore it and it’s one of my most worn liquid lipsticks over the past few months. It’s such a different colour to anything I have in my collection and it works so well with my complexion. I thought I would be a Lolita sort of girl but boy was I wrong, the colour really isn’t that impressive to me and I much prefer Love Sick. Sanctuary for me is a very standard brown but is something I again wear so much of that I get so much use of.

These two liquid lipsticks I use so much and I now understand why they are so popular. I mean it’s not the perfect formulation but it’s not far off of it in my opinion and I’m completely in love with their shade range. I need to buy a few more to add to my collection but unsure what colour to get next – any suggestions?

Let me know if you have tried these before and what your opinion of them are. Also let me know your favourite shades!
