August Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

I cannot believe another month has flown by! I have had another wonderful month filled with all my favourite people. I have experienced amazing new things and created memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life, along with consuming an awful lot of prosecco, whoops! With August out of the way, it really is near enough autumn time which I am really looking forward to! Who doesn’t love getting out your big scarves, snuggling on the sofa & candles burning!

My favourites this month are all near enough recent purchases, clearly I just can’t stop buying things. My addiction is still going strong and I cannot resist online shopping or wondering the aisles of Boots!

L’Oreal – Lip Paint/Matte in 212 Nude-Ist see here

So although this is a recent purchase which I picked up in Boots recently I am 100% in love with it. The colour is amazing and is the perfect brown lip which isn’t too in your face. The application is wonderful and formula I really love. It stays on all day and doesn’t become all drying and feel horrible on your lips. This is one of my favourite formulations of lipstick and it’s from the drugstore, WINNING! It’s a shame they don’t have an awful lot of colours out at the moment I am really hoping there will be more because I want them all!

Too Faced – Better Than Sex Mascara see here

I have wanted this for the longest time, I have set my sights on it for far too long but weirdly I never brought it for myself. However, with my birthday being last month I did put this on my Birthday Wishlist and I actually ended up with two of them! I was really worried that I had two identical mascaras and I didn’t even know if I liked the blooming thing.

Of course, I fell in love and I don’t know why I waited so long to get it. It is an amazing mascara with a serious amount of volume my eyelashes have never looked so good, I am so impressed with it. It also removes like a dream with all of my cleansers which is another bonus. I would say in all the reviews I have read no one has mentioned how blooming heavy the mascara actually is compared to others, be warned guys you really have to take a tight grip on this one!

Collection – Contour Kit see here

This is another product I picked up from my recent Boots trip. This has caught my eyes a few times and I decided I should finally pick it up. I have loved the contour shade in this kit, the highlight shade for me is nothing special but I’m happy I paid £4 for the kit just to have the contour shade. It is perfect for my complexion and is a fraction of the price on Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. I have been gravitating this month more towards this than Hoola so it can only mean good things, especially for my bank balance!

MAC – Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Show Gold see here

This is something I picked up when I was lucky enough for the lovely ladies at MAC to do my make up. It was a complete dream come true and I loved every second, I would highly recommend doing this if you can! When they applied this highlighter I was impressed, I mean seriously impressed. It’s absolutely beautiful, it’s a golden highlight with lots of specs of glitter. I just fell in love and I needed it. I have applied this almost everyday in the month of August and I don’t think I will be stopping anytime soon. I have also seen that there are another couple of shades I wan’t to get hold of so watch this space!

Zoeva – Coral Spectrum Palette see here

This is another Birthday gift and again it was on my Birthday Wishlist I was so happy to get my hands on this, I love Zoeva as a brand and I mainly opt for buying their brushes and eyeshadow palettes so I thought it was about time I mixed it up and brought something different. The pigmentation is incredible and I am still to this day impressed by how good these blushes are. I love every single shade in the palette but I must say my favourite at the moment is CRO030

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette see here

So this is my most expensive eyeshadow palette I have ever brought to date and I do not have one single regret. I can’t express how much I love this palette. For me, it was totally out of my comfort zone I am a nude girl through and through and the pink and orange shades scared the hell out of me. However, I have been experimenting a lot with this, this month and I have someone fell in love with it even more. I have been using the pink & orange eyeshadow and wearing this near enough everyday.

My favourite shades at the moment in the palette are: Primavera, Burnt Orange, Realgar and Love Letter. I just can’t stop looking at this beautiful palette and along with the shade colours in my eyes the formulation is one of the best I have EVER tried. Seriously, on this occasion it really is a great idea to invest.

PS I’m sorry at the state of my palette it is well loved and the packaging is not very forgiving!

Beautyblender Sponge – see here

Last but by no means least, this little baby. Now I do apologise in advance for the state it is in, I used it just before I wrote this blog post – it just shows it’s well loved right? Now, this isn’t new to me I have a lot of these sponges and normally use them to blend in my concealer. However, this month I got into a little rut with all my foundation brushes and they just wasn’t doing what I wanted them to do. So I turned to my trusty beautyblender and my oh my it’s changed the way I apply foundation. I just love it, I know this is not a new thing but to me it is and I’m really impressed. Seriously for a sponge I would happily pay the £16 price tag for flawless looking skin. Long may this new love affair continue!
