Hello my lovelies,
I cannot believe February is officially over and done with, I know it’s a short month but wow we are now in March! It feels only yesterday is was Christmas. The best thing about February is pancake day, I may be controversial in saying this but I am not a fan of Valentines – unnecessary and over rated in my eyes.
Anyway, moving on to products I have been loving. A mix of old products I have rediscovered and new products that I have fallen in love with. I really love digging products out from your collection that you haven’t used for a while and fall back in love. I always wonder why I stopped using them in the first place!
So I got these products as a gift which purchase which I mentioned in my January Buys, I don’t really like nude lipsticks because as you may or may not know I am more of a bold lip kind of gal. I am always wanting to try new formulations so if I didn’t like the colour but like the formulation I could go back and try more colours.
My oh my I love this lip combo, in fact I think its my most favourite combo ever. I have never tried any Estee Lauder lip products before and believe me when I say this they are underrated. The lip pencil glides on so smoothly with such an intense colour which is quite a strong brown colour. It’s so creamy but has ultimate staying power. I then put the lipstick on top which is a lovely dark nude and is perfect for day wear. It stays all day even with drinking and eating and I sometimes have a job removing this at the end of the day.
I cannot wait to go investigate what other colours they have in the range especially the lip liner it really is the best one I have tried in such a long time!
Another combination I have been loving is this powder for setting my under eye area. I mentioned in my December Wishlist that I wanted to try the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, but as I have never really ventured into loose powders before I thought it was wise to try a cheaper alternative first.
I am so glad I did because I have fallen in love! It is a beautiful fine powder which I use to set just my under eye area. The Zoeva brush is the perfect size just to sweep around the eye area and it’s so bloody soft! It also helps that the brush looks very pretty but that isn’t the reason I brought it (that’s what I tell everyone anyway!).
I don’t actually feel the need to buy the Laura Mercier powder because I am loving this combination so much and the price comparison is crazy. I picked this powder up for £1.99 and the Laura Mercier on is £29. I know which one I’ll be buying but if ever someone wants to buy me the Laura Mercier powder as a gift I certainly wouldn’t say no.
Make Up Revolution: Precision Pro Oval Face Brush see here
I have seen a lot of brands copy the original oval brushes that were brought out last year and I thought before I delve into the whole £40 a brush scenario I thought I would try one at a fraction of a price to see what they actually did.
I have been converted, since I brought this – this is the only brush/applicator I have used to apply my foundation. It is a game changer! First off – it looks amazing who doesn’t want this sitting in your make up collection? The brush itself is so soft I just love buffing my skin with it. It’s heaven! What’s more is that it cuts down the time is take to buff in your foundation because the hairs are so fine you don’t get any brush lines it just blends like a dream.
I am seriously converted and I think I am going to have to buy a couple of these as I am forever cleaning this. Seriously – go give it a go. You won’t regret it I promise.
I Heart Makeup – Triple Baked Highlighter: Goddess of Love see here
So I love highlighter, this a no brainer. Recently I have been drying to dig out this highlighter. I use to wear it all the time and when I put it on a few weeks ago when I found it I fell back in love. Now the packaging I’m not a fan of, it’s a bit girly and made out of cardboard but I look past this because the product is pretty darn good.
It’s a beautiful golden highlighter as the name would suggest and is perfect for wearing on a daily basis. I don’t feel like it’s too over powering and is perfect for anyone venturing into the world of highlighter. I have actually used this so much and still it doesn’t look as though I have made a dent into it.
Number 4: Lumiere d’hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect see here
I received this in a Birchbox a long time ago and it was something I didn’t pay much attention to and I put it in a draw and it was just left. Last month I saw this and I really needed something new to help de-tangle my hair after a hair wash. I used this and wow I was totally impressed. It smells horrid – but if you can get past the smell you’ll be just fine.
I spray this all over my hair, leave it to sink in for around 10 seconds and it then brushes like a dream. I am totally impressed by this – I thought my hair was untameable but in comes this amazing product. The full size of this is £26, so I am currently undecided on whether to buy this, but for the time being I will happily enjoy this generous sample size!
Makeup Revolution: Eye Shadow Palette, Flawless see here
Last but not least, my favourite of them all my new eyeshadow palette. I wanted to go out of my comfort zone with colours and I thought by buying something like this would be good to try what suits me and what doesn’t. I wasn’t thinking it would be any good it was merely for the colours.
I was totally wrong – this palette is fricking amazing. I would say they are even better than my Urban Decay eye shadows which I adore. Honestly I am so impressed by these, the colours are absolutely beautiful and the pigmentation is incredible. They are so creamy and blendable. I want to recommend them to the whole world because I am an eyeshadow snob and my views were changed in seconds are using this.
I seriously need to get more of the palettes from Makeup Revolution – I am completely in love!
Let me know what your favorites have been this month & whether you have tried any of the products I have mentioned.
