Top 3 – High End Foundations

Hello my lovelies,

So I recently posted about my Top 3: Drugstore Foundations and I thought to even it out I would go through my favourite high end foundations. I like treating myself and sometimes the drug store just doesn’t cut the mustard. I don’t actually have too many foundations but I think as I’m getting older, the more high end brands are calling my name with their beautiful packaging and amazing products…

MAC – Studio Fix Fluid in NW15 see here

On the MAC website it states that this foundation is: ‘An oil-controlling formula that offers a natural matte finish with medium to full coverage’ – this is exactly what it does! This was my first ever high end foundation I purchased I believe it was in the Brighton store when I was visiting my lovely sister Kelly and I caved in and brought it. I have never looked back and I have gone through around 3 bottles of this. I’m obsessed!

It applies evenly onto the skin and doesn’t go patchy. It’s more on the medium coverage side but very much buildable to a full coverage. I always come back to this foundation, it’s my go to if I need something reliable, it never lets me down. MAC do offer a lot of other foundations but for me I am happy with this one and I don’t see myself delving into any others any time soon.

The only annoying thing with this is that you have to buy the pump separately. I mean you could pour it onto your hand but clumsy me always seems to pour far too much than I need. I’m sure I am not the only one that is like that!

Estee Lauder – Double Wear Foundation in Pure Beige see here

I think everyone and their Aunt has this foundation and I can understand why it’s pretty impressive. Again it doesn’t come with a pump so I decided I had to put one on because I am super clumsy and it was going everywhere. I LOVE this foundation but it isn’t something I could wear on a daily basis. It’s full coverage – no doubt about it which is fab but for day to day wear it’s too much. This is my go to foundation for a night out. My skin always looks flawless and never lets me down.

It’s a very thick foundation so it isn’t for the faint hearted. It’s definitely a matte foundation and controls oil like no other. Because of the thickness it’s a bugger to get off. Some of my cleansers struggle to take this off which I guess is good in a way because it won’t budge but after a night out you do not want to be spending ages scrubbing at your face..

NARS – All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Mont Blanc see here

This is the most recent addition to my foundation collection and I couldn’t be more happy that I have it. I went to get colour matched in Space NK and actually I wanted the sheer glow but when I compared the two on my face this was so much better, for me anyway. It’s on the more glowy side of foundations spectrum which I powder to a matte finish because of what I prefer. Doing this normally means that it will be heavy but it feels like your wearing nothing. It’s amazing I wear this pretty often because it’s so easy to apply and something I don’t have to worry about throughout the day.

The packaging is beautiful as well & it comes with a pump as standard – what more could you want!? I don’t actually have a bad word to say about this foundation. It is definitely on the pricer side out of these three foundations but it’s totally worth it. I would say this is a medium coverage foundation but it totally buildable. The colour range of this foundation is pretty extensive so make sure you get colour matched before you purchase this!

What are your favourite high end foundations? I’m always after extending my collection.

Current Everyday MakeUp

Hello my lovelies,

So I have a lot of make up, more than the average person I suppose but I always seem to stick to what I know. It’s annoying but every month I do try to incorporate new or products I haven’t used for a while just to mix it up a little. There are some products that don’t change because I love them too much to change up, others I switch up daily like my lipstick. I thought I would share with you my current everyday make up this is normally what I wear on a daily basis but this does depends on my mood!

Review – NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hello my lovelies,

So I’m a lipstick lover, I very rarely go out the house without something on my lips. 9 times out of 10 it is a matte finish, for me I much prefer it and it is more long lasting. Recently in the beauty world liquid lipsticks have taken over. Liquid lipsticks for me are amazing, when the formula and the pigmentation is right then you are onto a winner.

In the past recent months I have been trying the NYX Softy Matte Lip Creams that retail for around £6 here in the UK see here. I seriously was drawn to these due to the choice of colours that are in the range. Seriously you are spoilt for choice – I have never seen so many beautiful colors in lipstick form! Another thing that drew me to them was the price & that they were matte lip creams – to me what more could you want!?

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

The shades I have are on the darker side, for some reason I much prefer darker shades purples, reds and dark browns are more my thing than pretty pinks and nude shades. The shades I have are: Copenhagen, Havana, Monte Carlo and Vancouver. I love that all the shades are names of cities all over the world it’s such a cool idea!

As the name suggests they are a matte liquid lipstick and are fairly long lasting. The applicator is a doe foot which is fairly standard making it straight forward to apply onto the lips. I must just add as soon as you open the lip creams they smell pretty incredible! I can’t put my finger on what the smell is of – very sweet and I would say nearing towards cookie dough. Weird I know but the smell doesn’t transfer when applied to the lips it must just be the bottle.

The pigmentation of the creams does vary. I have 4 and some are more pigmented than others. I had to apply 5 layers of Havana just to get a decent colour pay off whereas with Copenhagen one layer and I am good to go. I would say test these out in shops if you can to check the colour pay off and make sure you are happy with it.

When you do get to your personal preference of how opaque you like, the colours are pretty incredible. They really are the same colour as the packaging and I love that. I hate when you buy something and it is nothing like the colour of the packaging and you are left disappointed. They really have done well on this front!

From the description of the product it is a matte finish I would say it takes a couple of minutes to dry down which is fine for me. Its super comfortable of the lips and does not seem to dry my lips which is a major plus. Even when I remove this my lips feel hydrated and soft – I can’t tell by the ingredients how it is able to do this – but I’m not complaining!

It is fairly long lasting ,there is pay off when I drink or eat but my lipstick stays in fairly good condition. I would say it is able to last around 6/7 hours before you would have to top up which for me is amazing. I work full time and I don’t have a chance to keep topping up my makeup so as long as I go through the full day I am a happy bunny. With any liquid lipstick when the colour starts to go it is very obvious and as it has dried there is no way to blend it out. If you are out and about and don’t have a chance to top up your make-up up this may prove a problem..

I would say they can be a bugger to take off after a long day. You will have to scrub a little as they do stain the lips to a certain extent. If I’m honest I’m ok with this because it shows the longevity of the formula.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Left to Right: Copenhagen, Havana, Monte Carlo and Vancouver

Overall, I am fairly impressed with them. They are very well priced and perfect for delving into the wonderful world of liquid lipsticks and trying new colours. I love the formula of these it’s just frustrating that some of the colours are not so opaque I just need to remember to swatch them in store before I commit to buying one!

I will definitely be buying more of these little babies and I can’t wait to try a few new colours. It’s now even easier to get hold of these in the UK as the wonderful people at NYX have been able to stock in Boots – every one is a winner!

Have you tried the Soft Matte Lip Creams – what did you think of them & what colours do you have I would love to hear your thoughts!

Top 3: Drugstore Foundations

Hello my lovelies,

For me if you want your make up to be flawless you must start with a good base. Foundation is something I am forever trying out – if I am honest I think everyone is. Recently my skin has changed and I get oily around my T-Zone throughout the day which means I go for a more matte finish. It meant that I had to go out and buy all new foundations – obviously I didn’t complain about this, make up shopping is my favourite kind of shopping! These are my favourite foundations from the drug store that seriously impress me and I can’t live without.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Rimmel: Wake Me Up Anti Fatigue Foundation see here

So this is a firm favourite for me and has been for a good 6/7 years. I remember the first time I wore this foundation I went out for a friends birthday and someone said to me ‘your skin looks amazing what foundation are you wearing’ now for a 15 year old I was very happy with this comment as back then I wasn’t that interested in make up. It meant a lot to me and has stuck with me for all of these years. It really does wake me up as silly as that sounds.

Unfortunately due to my oily skin I don’t wear this as much but sometimes I just think what the heck and put it on because I think it’s amazing. This is always my foundation of choice in the warmer months because of how illuminating this is. This isn’t the sort of foundation you would pick if you want a matte finish – this really is the complete opposite I mean there are tiny flecks of glitter in the foundation. Don’t let that scare you though because it just helps to brighten your skin. You won’t be looking like Edward Cullen from Twilight when he goes into the sun don’t worry!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

L’Oreal: Infallible 24h-Matte see here

This is the most recent foundation I have brought see here but instantly I fell in love. I needed a new matte foundation and I had heard so many people talk about it that I just had to try it. I am so impressed by it! It is medium to heavy coverage and is extremely buildable a little does go a long way. I haven’t tested the whole 24 hour claim but it is long wearing and if I know I am going to be out for a long time this is the foundation I always seem to choose.

I use this near enough every day as its the perfect coverage for me and I don’t need to worry about powdering all the time because it works to control my oily T-Zone. To put this into perspective of how good this is: my lovely mother is in her 40’s and has never worn foundation. She tried this out for a night out on a whim to see what it was like and a week later she went out to buy her own one! Granted she doesn’t use this every day but when she goes out for the evening she is always wearing this and she looks amazing!

Rimmel: 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation see here

Another Rimmel foundation I know but I think they tick all the boxes for foundation! This is one of their more recent releases which by the name suggests is long lasting. This is what I always go for when I am on the hunt for a new foundation- for me there is nothing worse than feeling you have to touch up your foundation every 5 minutes throughout the day I just don’t have the time!

I’m not sure where they got the whole 25 hour thing from but I suppose it sounds good – obviously I have never tested this but it does a good job of lasting 10/12 hours. It is a full coverage foundation and again a matte finish. I usually use this when I am having a bad skin day as it covers a multitude of sins! I love that it has a SPF in as well – I always forget about day to day sun damage for my face so this really does help!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Have you tried any of these foundations? Is there any foundations from the drugstore that you would recommend – yes I am a beauty addict which means I always want to buy more foundations even though I don’t need them!

Empties #4

Hello my lovelies,

Another post of all my empty products, an end of an era. These are one of my most favourite posts to write because I love getting rid of all the empty products that I have collated and I can start a fresh. Small things please a small mind right?

Simple: Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel see here

I LOVE this product. No doubt about it, it does exactly what it says on the tin. I have brought pieces from the Simple skincare range for quite some time and this is one of the only products without doubt I can’t be without. I use this around 2/3 times a week in the shower and it completely refreshes me. It’s a little different to most facial washes as it’s a gel based product and I much prefer it. I really feel like it makes a difference to my skin and is able to give my skin a deep wash and I need it – especially with the amount of make up I wear. It leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and smooth. It’s amazing – go buy it and try it out for yourself!

Liz Earle: Gentle Face Exfoliator see here

Anyone that knows me or has read any of my skincare related posts know that I adore Liz Earle. Everything I have tried from them has never disappointed me. I think I acquired this from a gift with purchase as it isn’t something I would spend a lot of money on. I love to exfoliate my skin don’t get me wrong but it’s not something I would invest money into.

I always worry with exfoliators that they will be too harsh with my skin not that I have sensitive skin I just don’t really want my skin to be all red and sore after – this really is gentle. I mean this does exfoliate no doubt about it but it really is gentle. It’s a beautiful product to use, again like my face wash I use this 2/3 times a week just to remove all the horrible dead skin cells and impurities. It’s a dream  – I love using this product and it has never irritated my skin.

Although I love this product I don’t think I am going to be rushing out to repurchase. As I said I don’t like spending a lot of money on exfoliators and I have others in my collection to use. I think if I wanted to treat myself or it was on offer I would certainly reach out for this one. Liz Earle, another impressive product!

Zoella: Let’s Spritz Fragranced Body Mist see here

I’m a massive supporter of fellow bloggers/YouTuber’s who bring products out. It’s incredible and I love how Team Internet are making such a difference in the world. This is part of her second launch of products that I believe come out in 2015 (don’t quote me on that though) I love how cute the packaging is – I mean to be honest all her products sum up her personality and I love that.

This fragrance is quite light with strong floral notes. I loved wearing this day to day, it was something I spritzed on without worrying about what I put on or if I thought I had overdone it as it it a light scent. I never wore this for the evening as I never thought it was strong enough or had the scents that you normally would wear for an evening out. I really enjoyed using it – I don’t think I would repurchase it as it isn’t anything special. Despite this – it is a brilliant gift idea for a young teenager/adult as most people have heard of the inspiring Zoella even if you haven’t I still think it’s brilliant!

Batiste: Dry Shampoo, Cherry Scent see here

I don’t think I could live without dry shampoo. It is a savior – especially the mornings when you wake up and you really don’t want to get in the shower to wash your hair! Spritz this on your roots and your good to go. By no means is it a miracle worker – if your hair is greasy and dirty it doesn’t make this go away. It simply gives you maybe until the evening to wash your hair. A little pick me up and a massive life saver!

It also helps to give my hair texture and volume which I need every bit of because my hair is so fine. I’m not sure why I chose the cherry scent – it certainly doesn’t smell like cherries but because I know it works I just keep buying the same one. Stick to what you know sometimes works best! I always have to have a bottle in reserve of this I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have this in my life!

Miss Sporty: Just Clear Mascara see here

Ok so this does not look pretty and I thought it was about time I chucked it out, it did start out clear I promise! I used to use brow gels and I thought yea, they are good but someone once said to me that they used a clear mascara – whoever said this to me is a genius! Why spend £15 on a brow gel when you can pop down to your local drug store and pick this little beauty up for £2.99!

It sets my brows in place like a dream and they do not budge – it’s just brilliant. I always used to find with brow gels that they would go a bit crispy and make my brows feel hard and uncomfortable as they dried. This clear mascara just doesn’t have these issues, it dries yes but it doesn’t make them feel horrible or slug like.

If you haven’t tried this trick then I would certainly recommend you move your butt and go get this. a) it will save you money & b) it’s so much better! Don’t you worry I already have another one of these lined up ready to use!

Pantene Pro-V Volume & Body Conditioner see here

Anything that says volume and body I need in my life – seriously having fine flat hair can be really annoying especially when you want to style it! I have no real preference when choosing shampoo and conditioner – it’s usually what is on offer if I’m honest. It’s annoying because I ALWAYS finish the conditioner before the shampoo – I just don’t understand!

I didn’t feel like this did anything special – yes it cleaned my hair and made it feel soft but I don’t feel like it gave me any volume or body like it claimed. Disappointing for me I must say I think I will steer clear of this when next buying hair products.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

Superdrug: Cleansing Facial Wipes for Combination Skin see here

So I don’t use these to remove my make up off my face unless I am super lazy or drunk which either isn’t very often. I use wipes to get make up off my hands which is mainly swatches, foundation etc. and they are always on hand for any mistakes I may make applying my make up. I never spend a lot of money on wipes because I am not using them on my face and it’s normally a quick swipe from my hand.

I didn’t like these much. They didn’t do a brilliant job of removing swatches from my hand and especially with lipstick I really had to scrub – so I am glad I didn’t try this on my face. It claims to gently cleanse and purify but I wouldn’t put these near my face! They were also super drying as well and didn’t leave my skin feeling refreshed in any way.

I know what you are thinking what do you expect for that price. Well I expect them to at least be able to remove small pieces of make up from my hand which would be on there a matter or minutes. If they can’t do this – what can they do?

Garnier: Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water see here

I can’t live without this product. It has changed my life. I love it – I will not use a different micellar water. It works like a dream and just melts away my make up. It’s super easy to use and doesn’t irritate my eyes. What more could you want? I am forever picking up new bottles of this because I can’t be without it. I have at least two in my draw waiting for one to run out.

I don’t think I will ever stop buying this – it does everything I want it to and it is super affordable. I use this day and night as the first part of my cleansing routine. Sometimes I don’t use any actual cleanser and just use this and it does the job pretty well. Go out and buy this – you won’t regret it. If you do have sensitive skin they do one for you (green lid!)

Review – Technic Contour Stix

Hello my lovelies,

Technic is a brand that I don’t know too much about. I don’t see many of their stands around and I have never been drawn to buying their products online. I am not sure why, I guess with all the other brands that are on offer I just didn’t even think to look into them.

In December, from Amazon I purchased the Contour Stix Trio and the highlighting powder which I have already wrote a review of see here. I thought I would do a review of the cream contour products that they offer.

Processed with VSCO with t1 preset

I brought these on Amazon  for £2.78 – to me it seemed like a no brainer to try. I’m not a massive fan of cream highlighters or bronzers but I think for the price it just seemed silly not to give it ago.

I was excited about getting these because it’s something completely new to try. I like that they come as a three and on the back of the packaging it tells you how to use all three products. I thought this was a good start – I did stupidly throw the packet away as I thought I was enough of a pro not to need it. Now I’m thinking it could be handy..

I like how thin the nib of each of the products are, it means that you can easily apply the product to the areas you want. There is no major worry of putting a big patch anywhere – which is normally what happens to me as I am so heavy handed!

When I tried the products on my hand I was excited by the pink shade to use as a highlighter and the brown shade to use as a contour. I didn’t understand the orange/cream shade and still to this day I don’t – is someone able to inform me how I use it?

Pink Shade:

So this to me was quite obvious the highlight shade. I don’t have any cream highlighters and never really ventured into it but ya know always try new things and I wish I never bothered. The shade on my hand looked OK – very pink toned though which I worried about but the sparkle and glitter of the shade looked lovely. When I applied this on my face which I just drew on and I used a blending sponge to apply to the skin. Unfortunately this just took off my base make up and there was nothing to be seen.

I have tried to use this multiple ways and I have just had no luck. The consistency of this just takes off all make up underneath which is highly annoying. It has actually put me off trying to use any other cream highlighters because I can’t be dealing with it all.

Brown Shade

Again another obvious shade which I knew was the contour shade. I was excited to use this as I am slowly starting to enjoy stick contour products like the Barry M contour sticks. The colour is OK – a little orange though. When I applied this onto my skin it just didn’t seem to give much colour. On my hand the shade is strong, with foundation on it just doesn’t seem to like it. It took a lot of layers to get to a shade I was content with.

This stick would be perfect if you are wanting a subtle contour – but by subtle I do mean minimal. Having said that, it is really easy to build up so it would be the perfect product to get if you are new to the whole contour world and you don’t want something with crazy pigmentation.

Orange/Cream Shade

Umm, I don’t know what this is for. This is why I wish I kept the packaging because I have no idea how to use it. It is a light matte cream shade – I did try to use it as a under eye highlight and it failed it was far too light for me. I’m not sure what to do with it. Can anyone help!?

img_2868

Overall, these are not the most impressive products in my opinion. They just didn’t work for me but that’s ok. People always look at a review like this and decide that they aren’t going to give it a go. We are all different and have different skin tones I’m sure it will work for some of you guys.

As I explained the contour shade is something I can see a lot of newbies into the contour world like – not too pigmented which means you can easily play around and see how light or dark you want the area to be. The pink shade – a nice colour but I can’t seem to stop it from taking off my base make up. Cream Shade – I don’t know how to use it.

To be honest – for £2.78 and even if you only one of the shades it’s not really the end of the world is it. Even in Boots you are looking at double that price if you are wanting a contouring product so for the price point to get 3 products is not bad.

I am hoping to give this to someone in my family or friends to see if it will go to better use as I would hate for it to go to waste.

Let me know if you have ever tried this before and your thoughts on whether they worked for you or not.

February Buys

Hello my lovelies,

The month of February was where I was a little more refrained compared to January. I knew I had gone overboard and I thought I needed to be a bit more restricted. If any one knows me I am addicted to shopping so when I tell myself be restricted I buy less but still spend the same amount.

I did get some products that I am over the moon about – I don’t know how I have not used them yet but I have been restrained because ya know – I have to take blog photos. Yep I’m dedicated!

House of Fraser

So this was one of the first places I went, and actually Benefit kindly gave me a complimentary make over. I was never going to pass up the opportunity and I asked my gorgeous best friend Nadia to come with me. Benefit have launched new lipsticks and eye shadows so I was extremely excited to get my hands on them. I ended up purchasing:

Benefit Kiss Missy Gift Set see here

I brought this because I really wanted their new lip kit in Revved up Red but they didn’t have any in stock as a single product so the lady suggested I get this set. It comes with two of the new lip kits in Revved Up Red and Pink Thrills along with a Benetinit and Lollitint. The two tints I gave to my friend Nadia as a thank you for coming with me – everyone is a winner!

Benefit They’re Real Duo Shadow Blender in Kinky Khaki see here

This is something the lovely lady in Benefit put on my eyes during my makeover. I fell in love with the colours – it isn’t something I would usually go for but I am all for going out of my comfort zone and trying something new.

Boots

Yep – I don’t think I can do a haul without mentioning Boots. I just love it OK – I could spend hours walking up and down the aisles and I’m sure I am not alone in this.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water 700ml see here

So Garnier, the legends that they are have brought out the micellar water in a 700ml bottle. I was sold! I go through countless bottles of this and now to have it in a even bigger bottle I am hoping I won’t have to buy this every month. I mention this so often – best micellar water EVER!

Soap & Glory Supercat Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen see here

This is a repurchase – this is my go to eyeliner. I won’t use anything else. I have had my current one for god knows how long and I thought that it would be best to buy a new one. It hasn’t dried up and it is still pure black but I worry about using a product for too long so I now will probably throw my old one anyway and whip out this brand new one.

NYX – Lip Lingerie Lipstick in Teddy see here

I love liquid lipsticks – NYX have some amazing colours especially in the soft matte lip range. I saw these and they caught my eye – loads of different brown tone liquid lipsticks & I’m there! I think these are a new line by NYX and I am super excited to try this. It is a deep brown colour with a slight red undertone. Let’s hope it is as good as the other NYX lipsticks.

L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Wash see here

I love the L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Face mask – I posted a review here and it is seriously good. So when I saw that they have brought out a face wash from the same range I was sold. I am so excited to use this and I really hope it works in the same way as the face mask. I am sure I will post of a review on what I think about this so keep your eyes peeled!

Soap and Glory: The Ultimelt Deep Purifying Hot Cloth Cleanser see here

I recently brought the Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk see here which I absolutely adore! I thought I would try something else from their skincare range and I decided on their hot cloth cleaner. I really hope that I enjoy it as much as the cleansing milk.

Garnier: Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash see here

As I love the micellar water so much as you can tell! I saw that they had added to the line a gel wash. Now I don’t have any gel skincare products and because I love and trust this range a lot I thought the best way to try them out is to stick with what you know. I have seen a lot of good reviews about this so I am hoping that I fall in love with it.

 Cult Beauty

So I have never made an order with Cult Beauty until now. I am always worried that I won’t like what I buy because I can’t actually test before I buy but on a whim I thought why not lets give it a go – and boy was I impressed! I spent way more than I thought I would but I am so happy with what I brought and I am so excited to try them! Even better – I chose standard delivery which I placed the order on a Friday and the following Monday morning it was on my doorstep. This is seriously impressive and I will defo be ordering again with them.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette see here

I mentioned in my February Wishlist that I wanted the Rose Golden palette but after looking at them all for a good 30 minutes I decided this was the one I wanted more. I am sure in the future I will pick others up because I LOVE the formula of these eye shadows. I already have the Naturally Yours palette and I am obsessed. I love the colours in this one as they are going out of my comfort zone of sticking nude shades. As much I love the nudes they are boring!

Charlotte Tilbury – Full Fat Lashes see here

I love Charlotte Tilbury – I don’t think I have met anyone that doesn’t swoon over their products. I have a few of the eye shadow palettes so I thought I would branch out a little. A Mascara – yep not very exciting but is something I have wanted to try for forever. I brought this on a bit of a whim as I can get this at other places but it accidentally fell into my basket – whoops!

Huda Beauty – Liquid Matte in Vixen see here

I have heard a lot about these recently and I love a liquid lipstick. It was a no brainer for me – it was hard choosing a colour though, they all look so good. The colour I went for in the end is a beautiful deep red/brown shade. Not so sensible for the spring time around the corner but who cares – I like the colour and I don’t need to justify it to anyone.

Anastatisia Beverley Hills – Modern Renasissance Eye Shadow Palette see here

Last but by no means least my favourite purchase of the year so far! This was the reason I made the cult beauty order. I knew I just needed to buy it, I have never brought anything from the brand and rather than thinking about it for months I thought stuff it I’m buying it. It’s just beautiful – anyone that is thinking about buying it just buy it. You will not regret this one. This has brought love into my heart words cannot explain. What a beautiful product

With my Cult Beauty order as I spent over a certain amount of money I got to choose two samples the ones I chose were: Oskia Super 16, Advanced Nutri-Active Collagen Serum and Caudali Night Infusion Cream.

I seriously have a shopping addiction – I know. If you don’t treat yourself who will? Money is their to be spent. I work hard and shop harder. Let me know if you have tried anything I have mentioned as I would love to know your thoughts!

March Wishlist

Hello my lovelies,

So a new month means a new wish list! I am currently on a spending ban – I need to save! I am hoping to go until the end of April but who knows whether that will happen. Despite being a spending ban it does not stop me wanting new products – I am only human. So if anyone wants to buy me a gift then here is a helping hand *wink wink*

Morphe 35 Colour Fall into Frost Eyeshadow Palette see here

I need to get my hands on this, it has gone past the want stage and it is now down to needing this in my life. Every time I have go onto the Cult Beauty website it is sold out. Do they not know I am trying to get hold of this!? I know I’m probably going to have to wait until May to get this due to my spending ban but hopefully everyone will stop rushing to get this and I will finally get my hands on it. The colours are just beautiful!

These are the colours I have been recently wanting to apply. I am trying to get away from my nudes – I mean I love them but it is a little boring. It’s good to experiment and I have not heard a bad thing about these palettes. I mentioned in my December Wishlist that I wanted the Nature Glow Palette but I have completely changed my mind – this is the one. If it’s good enough for Zoella it’s good enough for me!

Benefit: GALifornia Pink Blush see here

I love Benefit blushers and their latest launch certainly doesn’t disappoint. First off how cool is this packaging? Thumbs up from me! This will be the perfect summer blusher as it has a flush of sparkle as well as the bright bronze colour in the middle. I really want to get my hands on this before the hot weather comes. I can just imagine this looking absolutely beautiful on the cheeks.

This is why I am on a spending ban, as I am writing this post I am talking myself into buying it even more. It’s not something I need, it can wait but man it’s pretty 😦

Too Faced: Natural Love Eyeshadow Palette see here

Ok this is something that hasn’t launched just yet – but it is launching in the month of March and I want this. I have been trying to decide for a long while what eye shadow palette I should invest in from Too Faced and I have never been 100% on one. That is until now – look at these shades!?

Who doesn’t want this palette in their life!? It’s absolutely beautiful. I mean I don’t love every single colour only because I’m not a fan of pink on the eye but I really believe that when I start experimenting with this I will be using all the shades. I really make myself laugh – I don’t even own the palette and I’m talking about it like I have just brought it.

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit in Runway Berry see here

I love the idea of a lip kit. Now the idea of this has obviously come from Kylie Jenner’s range and they look AMAZING but I’m not for paying a high end price, plus shipping and worrying about custom charges so when a brand wants to see if they can match it I’m all for it.

Cheaper alternatives are my thing at the moment and I love this shade. I love a berry colour and I think this would be perfect for Spring as it isn’t too dark. Well from what I can tell anyway. I love my lipsticks – especially liquid lipsticks so if this is impressive as I hope it will be who needs Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits!?

Revlon: ColourStay Foundation see here

Last but not least – a drug store foundation. Now it’s not something recently I have wanted to buy much of. I think there are just so many high end brands’ foundations I want to try I have forgotten about the good old drug store. I know that this foundation has been out for a while, but it always put me off that it had no pump. I am a pump sort of girl – the whole pouring onto my hand is no good for me!

They have recently introduced a pump to this foundation and now this has me sold!. I really want to try it! I have heard so many good things about this foundation especially for oily skin which I am suffering with more and more recently I want to see if it lives up to my expectations.

The only annoying thing with drug store foundations is that you have to try and colour match yourself. I think while I am on a spending ban this is something I could do knowing  that I will get my hands on at some point – I just hate buying a foundation and you get home realising you have brought the wrong shade. Nothing more frustrating!

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and whether you think it is worth me buying them, I love to hear your opinions especially if they are no good it means I’m less tempted to break my spending ban!

What’s on your wishlist this month?

February Favourites

Hello my lovelies,

I cannot believe February is officially over and done with, I know it’s a short month but wow we are now in March! It feels only yesterday is was Christmas. The best thing about February is pancake day, I may be controversial in saying this but I am not a fan of Valentines – unnecessary and over rated in my eyes.

Anyway,  moving on to products I have been loving. A mix of old products I have rediscovered and new products that I have fallen in love with. I really love digging products out from your collection that you haven’t used for a while and fall back in love. I always wonder why I stopped using them in the first place!

Estee Lauder: Pure Colour Envy Lipstick in 130 Intense Nude see here and Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Lip Pencil in 08 Spice see here

So I got these products as  a gift which purchase which I mentioned in my January Buys, I don’t really like nude lipsticks because as you may or may not know I am more of a bold lip kind of gal. I am always wanting to try new formulations so if I didn’t like the colour but like the formulation I could go back and try more colours.

My oh my I love this lip combo, in fact I think its my most favourite combo ever. I have never tried any Estee Lauder lip products before and believe me when I say this they are underrated. The lip pencil glides on so smoothly with such an intense colour which is quite a strong brown colour. It’s so creamy but has ultimate staying power. I then put the lipstick on top which is a lovely dark nude and is perfect for day wear. It stays all day even with drinking and eating and I sometimes have a job removing this at the end of the day.

I cannot wait to go investigate what other colours they have in the range especially the lip liner it really is the best one I have tried in such a long time!

Natural Collection: Loose Powder in Neutral Translucent see here and Zoeva: 114 Luxe Face Focus Brush from the Rose Golden Collection see here

Another combination I have been loving is this powder for setting my under eye area. I mentioned in my December Wishlist that I wanted to try the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, but as I have never really ventured into loose powders before I thought it was wise to try a cheaper alternative first.

I am so glad I did because I have fallen in love! It is a beautiful fine powder which I use to set just my under eye area. The Zoeva brush is the perfect size just to sweep around the eye area and it’s so bloody soft! It also helps that the brush looks very pretty but that isn’t the reason I brought it (that’s what I tell everyone anyway!).

I don’t actually feel the need to buy the Laura Mercier powder because I am loving this combination so much and the price comparison is crazy. I picked this powder up for £1.99 and the Laura Mercier on is £29. I know which one I’ll be buying but if ever someone wants to buy me the Laura Mercier powder as a gift I certainly wouldn’t say no.

Make Up Revolution: Precision Pro Oval Face Brush see here

I have seen a lot of brands copy the original oval brushes that were brought out last year and I thought before I delve into the whole £40 a brush scenario I thought I would try one at a fraction of a price to see what they actually did.

I have been converted, since I brought this – this is the only brush/applicator I have used to apply my foundation. It is a game changer! First off – it looks amazing who doesn’t want this sitting in your make up collection? The brush itself is so soft I just love buffing my skin with it. It’s heaven! What’s more is that it cuts down the time is take to buff in your foundation because the hairs are so fine you don’t get any brush lines it just blends like a dream.

I am seriously converted and I think I am going to have to buy a couple of these as I am forever cleaning this. Seriously – go give it a go. You won’t regret it I promise.

I Heart Makeup – Triple Baked Highlighter: Goddess of Love see here

So I love highlighter, this a no brainer. Recently I have been drying to dig out this highlighter. I use to wear it all the time and when I put it on a few weeks ago when I found it I fell back in love. Now the packaging I’m not a fan of, it’s a bit girly and made out of cardboard but I look past this because the product is pretty darn good.

It’s a beautiful golden highlighter as the name would suggest and is perfect for wearing on a daily basis. I don’t feel like it’s too over powering and is perfect for anyone venturing into the world of highlighter. I have actually used this so much and still it doesn’t look as though I have made a dent into it.

Number 4: Lumiere d’hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect see here

I received this in a Birchbox a long time ago and it was something I didn’t pay much attention to and I put it in a draw and it was just left. Last month I saw this and I really needed something new to help de-tangle my hair after a hair wash. I used this and wow I was totally impressed. It smells horrid – but if you can get past the smell you’ll be just fine.

I spray this all over my hair, leave it to sink in for around 10 seconds and it then brushes like a dream. I am totally impressed by this – I thought my hair was untameable but in comes this amazing product. The full size of this is £26, so I am currently undecided on whether to buy this, but for the time being I will happily enjoy this generous sample size!

Makeup Revolution: Eye Shadow Palette, Flawless see here

Last but not least, my favourite of them all my new eyeshadow palette. I wanted to go out of my comfort zone with colours and I thought by buying something like this would be good to try what suits me and what doesn’t. I wasn’t thinking it would be any good it was merely for the colours.

I was totally wrong – this palette is fricking amazing. I would say they are even better than my Urban Decay eye shadows which I adore. Honestly I am so impressed by these, the colours are absolutely beautiful and the pigmentation is incredible. They are so creamy and blendable. I want to recommend them to the whole world because I am an eyeshadow snob and my views were changed in seconds are using this.

I seriously need to get more of the palettes from Makeup Revolution – I am completely in love!
