Review – L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

Hello my lovelies,

So I love face masks, there is nothing better than having a pamper evening and applying a face mask to give your skin some goodness. I normally use a face mask once a week I know they always recommend this to be more frequent but I don’t feel like my skin needs it.

Towards the end of last year L’Oreal launched their Pure Clay face mask range, now for whatever reason it took me a while to pick these up and try them. I thought I would start off with the Pure Clay Detox Mask, see here

As you can tell I have used this quite a few times, I would say I have used this 4 times and I guess I have around two thirds left. First off I quite like the packaging, its a glass jar which I think makes it feel that little more luxurious, the top is plastic which easily unscrews. It also has a plastic plug to stop the product drying out especially if you haven’t screwed the top on properly.

I am a massive lover of clay masks, for some reason I just feel like they are attacking your skin a little more with goodness and removing impurities especially as the products starts to harden the longer you have it on your face, maybe this is just me!

As soon as you open the pot the smell is inviting, it smells very fresh and clean and it makes you want to put it on your skin. I’m not sure whether it’s the clay within the mask that produces the smell or what but I love it! I find with some face masks they don’t smell very nice and it really does put me off applying them to my face.

I apply this like any normal face mask, probably with a bit of speed as it does set quite quickly. It’s very thick in consistency like with any clay mask so its very easy to apply to much to your skin. Once its set it advises you to leave on for around 10 minutes. I just leave it on until I can’t move my lips or eyebrows which actually isn’t too far away from 10 minutes.

Before I take this off I always look in the mirror to see if I can tell if it is actually doing anything. To my amazement you can see everything! It creates little dots around your face of where it is drawing the impurities out from, it makes it very easy to see where your problem areas are which I think is pretty impressive! This obviously doesn’t look very nice to other people but I thought it was very interesting. I haven’t ever actually seen this with any other clay mask I have tried so I was pretty impressed.

When I washed the mask off my face the sign that I always look out for to know how good a mask really is, is the touch test. My oh my, my skin feels like a baby’s bum after I applied this I have never felt anything so soft! I apply a little moisturiser after but I really don’t think my face needs it what so ever.

Overall, I literally cannot fault this product I am well and truly impressed and it is the only face mask I have been using recently! It does exactly what it says on the tin and my skin looks amazing for it. The price point of these is around £8 and I reckon you could get at least 9 uses out of this if not more so it’s less than £1 per time! I couldn’t recommend this any more. If any one is looking for a new face mask then you need to pop down to your local drugstore to pick this up!

Let me know if you have tried this product and what your thoughts were!

  1. I am so glad you did this post! I have been wanting to try it because I am always a bit skeptical when it comes to things like that, but this sounds amazing! I cannot wait to go and pick me up a jar. Thank you for being so detailed as well. Super helpful! 🙂
